Here's the deal - I'd love to see locals returning this Summer keeping the place hopping with laughter filling the air all the way to the SUPS! It deserves THAT. And I feel we all deserve this as well. A potato can be handled well no matter its size and taste fantastic - why can't the steakhouse cooks (imagine the possibility of upping one's gain by studying the art of cooking the perfect potato so as each patron talks about "That dreamy soft potato! When can we all go back?" Up North owners went head to head for the best steak. Now we all KNOW if one place is too busy it's a delight to hit up our second choice. It's not so much about the food then, it's about "Who will not see, or see?" "What kind of music is playing tonight? Do you want to wait to be seated?" Or is it "Honey I don't care. "Our salads this week will be memorably upbeat and crisp! How about a little pear slice added with an EVOO & pear BALSALMIC vinaigrette dressing with or with blue cheese and croutons? Trust me, THAT SALAD brings it, brings people, add chicken on top or sliced steak, and I'm there every 7-8 days all Summer long. Mammoth is about breathing. And staring at the mountain. Alone or with someone. About chatting. And meeting up. It's the party place with a view. Or a quiet meetup. I'm unsure who is missing out on more. U.S.? Or 'them.' More sales. Heavier tips. I think it's all possible and doable. Here's the kicker - the steakhouse does not even have to rebrand. It's a good deal. I know not one person who doesn't like flavor. And a smile. Sat at the bar where the older barkeep greeted my boyfriend and I as "fellow citizens" (ironic, because his accent told me he's foreign-born) and started making jokes about Obama liking modelo especial because "They're both black" (???). We had some good service and great burgers here! We came near closing time but the waitstaff was pleasant and professional regardless. We ordered the mammoth burgers and everything about them was excellent.. the price was reasonable. They were served with fries that were crisp on the outside and potatoey on the inside and nicely salted. The burgers were quite generously sized, with a thick burger cooked medium well (that's just how they cook them) and the onions, mushrooms and cheese are melted into a glorious topping worth writing home about! The burgers are on a bed of lettuce sitting atop a bun... the only thing that would have made it perfect would be to toast the roll and put some butter on it... yes if said it, I wanted my bun buttered! They have a full bar and an assortment of soda flavors as well as bottled water. They don't give two water because the well is 100 years old and possibly unsafe for consumption. The food wasn't even the best part though I did like my pulled pork sandwich! The fries were nice and hot, margarita had a really pretty color to it and I enjoyed it with my food. They had live music, we started out sitting inside, but eventually moved to the patio to take in the views. I was torn because honestly both inside and outside were beautiful. We kabashed the cheese and I removed the l&t on mine. I liked they cut the sándwich and split the fries too. The mushrooms have garlic on them. So if you dislike remove em. We are locals and met my family of 10 there for my Birthday celebration at 11am on a Sunday in March . I researched everything on line and unfortunately your menu was outdated and prices were greatly increased over menu on line when we arrived. Please update your prices on line as this was an inconvenience to some of my family members financially!!! Our service was mediocre at best , in fact when food was served the waiter had missed my order. I was disappointed as it was my birthday after all . I've ate there 10 times, every time I visit the Goldfield Ghost Town, this last time in June of 2025, I ate the 12oz ribeye steak ! Unbelievably delicious! So tender I cut it with my fork. The chef knows his steak! I have never had a bad meal there. I've eaten both inside and outside on their huge back deck. The cheese curds (breaded and deep fried) are absolutely heavenly delicious! As are the fries. I've never had a bad meal there. Plenty of parking 3 huge lots. The staff are always friendly and professional. They serve alcohol & on Fri,Sat,Sun there's live music. Dorothy I don't think we're in Arizona anymore--we're in the wild West. The saloon had literal boots hanging from their bootstraps and rustic decor that embodied the Western ambiance. The steaks were cooked well but the sides were absolutely horrid. I walked in during lunch and they were packed with visitors. I immediately put in my order and waited 15 minutes for my entree but I saw later patrons waiting for over 30 minutes at peak rush. Although I've read many complaints about the prices, they honestly seemed reasonable in comparison to other tourist traps. However water wasn't complementary and it tasted nasty so I would opt for a soft drink instead. Cocktails were advertised outside of the saloon but the menu only listed their margarita. =ORDERED= All "big fixins'" came with corn and french fries during lunch. The corn was lukewarm, watery and obviously canned. The french fries were limp and undercooked. I wasn't sure which side caused my stomachache but both had probable cause. *Prickly Pear Cactus Margarita: pear centric with a slight buzz. Tasted more like juice than alcohol but it was refreshing in the heat. *New York Strip (8oz): cooked perfectly medium rare and was very juicy. A little bland but a sprinkle of salt brought out the beefiness. Honestly cooked better than some steakhouses in AZ. *Ribeye (12oz): also cooked to medium rare but was on the fattier side. The ribeye will always be superior in flavor but I wished the cut was trimmed a bit better. The steak was rendered well but around 4oz was pure fat. Like the name says, the steaks were great. However, everything else was either frozen or cooked improperly. If I were to ever visit the mines again, I'd order another steak but would avoid anything involving fruit or vegetables. read more

Didnt order food. Went to the Saloon for a beer as we enjoyed what was supposed to be an "escape" back to the days of the old west. The surroundings were done well to put us there , that is, until one bellys up to the bar where you are instantly brought back to real life and current times with tons of political propaganda and many pictures of Trump- even a license plate with derogatory comments on Obama (still?). Whatever your political beliefs, this hardly seems the place to be so proudly arrogant about it. This place is so fun, I love looking around while I wait for mg food there's just so much history in this place. The ceiling is covered with boots from the western actors who have passed. There's plenty of seating inside and out. Service is always great l. We had lunch here after hiking at lost dutchman state park down the road. Love the way they decorated the inside with the cowboy hats and boots. Offer indoor and outdoor seating options. Indoor you get to also experience live music while outdoor you get the amazing view of the superstition mountains. Food is decent, nothing special - I'd like along the line of cracker barrel so set your expectations on those standards. Prices are on the higher end imho but that comes with the territory. The ambiance and location is very picturesque and scenic and gives the illusion of being an a western film. The interior of the steakhouse was cozy friendly and loud filled with the conversation of its patrons and gives a home-like feel. Due to the vast size of the dining room and popularity of the tourist hot spot of Goldfield, this is were the service suffers but it is expected and does not takeaway from the charm and photogenic energy of the town. The bartender always answers the phone with "May God bless America". He speaks 6 languages. He has been in America for 48 years. He has lived in 9 countries. He is a great Patriot! We came this way to do a 10 mile hike. Meeting him was the best part. I'm not saying I agreed with everything he said, but I appreciate that he was willing to share so much of his life with us. We got here before lunch and he was dusting off each bottle individually on the bar. He offered to stop to get our order, but we told him to finish first. We ordered the chef salad and grilled chicken salad. Both were really good. Fresh vegetables at the peak of ripeness. This place is landmark awful! We sat down and the views were excellent and the staff was polite. Started for strong! My boyfriend and I came around 3:30 PM, which isn't a typical eating hour so we both got a beer and a chicken sandwich to share. They were out of both the draft beers we wanted, which happens, but obviously not the best. So we both got a different beer than we originally picked and still enjoyed it. The sandwich came and it was quite minuscule, it quite literally took 5 bites to eat. It was horrid. Like complete rubber and tasteless. No even oh this doesn't taste, no it was absolutely horrible. Fries were horrid fried bits as well. Again, whatever, bad experience as well but those happen. The bill comes, and the waitress charged us $2 for sharing the sandwich. Words can't describe! Being born a coal miners daughter and being in the mining and heavy civil industry for 50 years, we love to find places like this. The entire town is amazing. The people are so friendly and the Ribeye steak is 2nd to none!! We sat at the bar because I'm a people watcher and it's always great for comic relief. The different types of people who are drawn to this little ghost town is beautiful!! Love Love Love the Trump stuff around the place. Showing their love for America. Being an immigrant refugee he definitely understands freedom and loves this beautiful country. Met some of the actors from the Wild West gun fight. I came by here with family after a hike nearby. I have been to the Goldfield Ghost Town several times in the past, but I never ate at the Mammoth Steakhouse. When I first walked in, I had no clue if we were supposed to be seated or if we were supposed to find our own seats, but I also learned that we came through a second entrance that leads straight to the bar (we were supposed to seat ourselves). Our family and friends found a large table to sit at and it took about 10 to 15 minutes for us to get our drink orders in. Once the service started, though, getting the food order in to being served the food was fairly quick. I decided to get the ribeye steak since it is a "steakhouse ", but I also recognized the overall rating that this restaurant had. The steak was on the thinner side and pretty overpriced for the quality of meat. If you're here to get amazing food, this is not the place for you. However, if you're trying to get a different atmosphere and a feeling of the good old Wild West (and maybe even a show), then this is the perfect place for you. Overall, the food was mediocre, and the service was decent, but I don't think I would come back here again unless a visiting friend/family was looking for something unique. read more

I try to only write good reviews but we waited about 1 hour and 20 mins for our food. I guess there was one cook and one waitress but we didn't know that until about an hour when we didn't see our food. I get being patient but there wasn't really an apology, there wasn't communication, and it would have been nice to get some compensation for the long wait. I don't expect it but really after that long of a wait, it was the least they could have done. They had one cook, but I also saw a two person party come after us and eat and leave before we got our food. We were a party of 6, they did automatic 20% gratuity and charged for bottled water, which I would have preferred tap. What irked me more, not the long wait but the lack of customer service. After almost an hour, we asked the waitress how much longer and she said anytime now, then we waited over 30 mins without any updates. We've been there before and the views are amazing but now, we won't be returning. I feel like they don't care to do better service bc they are basically the only option when you drive all that way to goldfield. I would warn tourists to just eat before you go to the ghost town. The food was basic so besides the view, it's not worth it. But you still get the same view just walking around, you don't need to eat there for it. read more

Set your expectations properly and Mammoth is 3+ stars. We were having a blast in the ghost town when we suddenly realized that we were not hydrating properly. We did wait until after the lunch rush so we were able to score a large table outside to enjoy the view and beautiful weather. Our server was on point the entire time as our party of 14 arrived at different times. As others have stated food does come out slow but our server stopped by multiple times to refresh our beverages. We ordered a burger and jalapeno poppers. Our burger was just fine and splitting this XL burger was a good idea. Our poppers were MEH and I would not recommend ordering them.
