This place was very clean. Staff was friendly. Menu was pretty large. I had the waffle combo. Bacon was crispy as I ordered. Belgian waffle was delicious. My friend had the country Benedict. It's A great spot to wake up and go eat or if your passing by, don't let the small town feel distract you. I always keep it simple, so I got the bacon, eggs, hash browns and toast w/ super good French toast. It's small so the wait is longer than expected when seated, they frequent your table for coffee but not as much for service. I would say you try it and you'll make your determination from there. This was great! Wanted to try somewhere new for a good breakfast and Mama's didn't disappoint. Here are things that were perfect: country potatoes (good seasoning, crispy and soft), chicken fried steak (cut with a fork, good flavor), eggs (ordered medium-well and came out medium-well - yay!), hash browns (nothin special, but crispy and classic), omelette (they have broccoli as an option! No one ever has broccoli!). The pancakes were delicious and soft, lacking a crispy edge to deem them perfect, but still a very good pancake - not too dense. The coffee was tasty and satisfying, and the biscuits and gravy were good. Atmosphere was cute, service was patient and nice, views out the window were very nice, and prices were definitely reasonable - seemed like a lot of food - husband and I couldn't finish our plates. Will definitely be coming back - so happy to find such a pleasant breakfast place! read more

We were out and about and decided that we wanted to try some food at a smaller local "diner", and we decided on Mamma's Kitchen Cafe. As soon as we walked in we noticed that it was very clean and inviting. The staff greeted us at the door and were very friendly. Our waitress was very upbeat and informative about specials and made some good recommendations. Our food came out and all I could say was "Wow". Portion sizes were larger and tasted exceptional. The prices were very reasonable. We were quite happy with the decision to give Mamma's a try today. We'll definitely be coming back to give lunch a try.. read more

Stopped off for a late breakfast with the wife-mate. We have not eaten here before and decided to give it a shot because there were some things we wanted to do in this neck of the woods. It's a typical little coffee shop and from the looks of it, family owned. There are dining rooms to the left and right of the entrance. As we walked in there was an older guy working behind the counter putting stuff on a shelf who glanced over his shoulder and told us to sit wherever we wanted. The wife liked a booth in the back on the left side, so we seated ourselves. Glad we did. More about that later. A twenty-something kid showed up and asked us what we wanted to drink. Pepsi and water it is. We checked the menu and each ordered the waffle breakfast. I ordered scrambled and ham. She, the scrambled and bacon. We split an order of home-fries. Then the screaming started. In the right side dining room were several tables of people with children. It was clear there was some familial connection to the restaurant. Not sure what, but there was one little baby that started wailing at the top of it's lungs and didn't quit. After awhile the mom took it in the bathroom for several minutes - which of course was right against the back wall of our booth. And it screamed and it screamed. Out they came - back to the table. And it screamed and it screamed. After a good 15 minutes of this, they decided to leave and peace returned to the land... In the meantime twenty-something brought our food. Not overly congenial or friendly. Just kind of "here you go", and walked off. No matter, the food was hot and fresh. The eggs were perfectly cooked, as were the two strips of bacon. The ham was also good but a little skimpy. The waffles were excellent. The home-fries were good - real potatoes with onions and peppers - not that frozen, deep-fried stuff. He then brought us a bill without even asking if there was anything else we wanted. No matter... Didn't want anything else. At the register twenty-something was separating orders and register receipts. He barely looked up - swiped our card, went back to shuffling his receipts until our transaction was processed, asked if we wanted receipt, got our signature, muttered a half-hearted thank you, and went right back to his shuffling. The bottom line: The breakfasts were good, the service adequate - barely, and I would eat here again if I was in the area.... But not without sticking my head in the door first to check for screaming children... read more

We were on our way to Prescott and decided to stop for lunch. We got there at 1pm and they close at 2pm. They're only open for breakfast and lunch. Nice little place inside. Hubby had the tuna melt and complained that the tuna was cold, he thought it would be warmed up. Kid and I shared the chicken salad special and we really enjoyed it. Showed up 2 min after 1:00 Sunday, They close at 1:00 to attend church at 3:00 PM. Mama's does breakfast and lunch in Humboldt and close daily at 2:00 PM. Except Sunday. A family owned and operated business, we were invited in and served an awesome Sunday Lunch for four. Five star service, real food prepared five star without a snooty price tag. A diner next to the Chevron station in Humboldt AZ right off Hwy 69. We stopped because the colorful buildings looked like a good photo op. We were hungry so we went to Mama's. Good diner food, breakfast all day, burgers (different kinds), sandwiches, salads, etc. Portions were generous but surprisingly we ate it all because we were hungry. Prices were very affordable. Just moved to the area, I really didn't want to drive all the way into Prescott valley for a quick easy bfast place.. The food is good, what I really couldn't move past was the service.. instead of walking up to her tables our server was yelling out questions while at our table which wouldn't have been a big deal if it was right next to the table but unfortunately she was right in my face yelling across our table. I proceeded with our order I asked her a question about a certain menu item, she looked at me and corrected me as if I worked there I knew there menu. I tried it twice and won't go back. read more

It's been a while since we have eaten at Mama's, and I have forgotten exactly what we had to eat. Probably some breakfast meat and eggs. But I do remember the home fries and the sausage gravy. My God, now THAT'S home cookin'. The real potatoes are cubed and cooked on the flat top along with onions and bell peppers. The potatoes are nicely browned, and the onions, some are soft and others dark and crisp. The gravy is made from scratch using milk, with bits of sausage lurking throughout; not too salty and with lots of black pepper, it was the perfect topper for the potatoes. The service was adequate, our coffee was kept full without asking, and the prices are from the 1970's, very, very reasonable. If for no other reason than the potatoes and gravy I'll seek out Mama's Country Kitchen for breakfast anytime I am on the road to the valley. It's that good. read more

Stopped with family to have breakfast...first notoced evetuthing inside sermed stucky and unclean...didn't appear busy but waited quite awhile for waitress then food. When food came they had a couple of things wrong had to wait even longer for someone in back to fix. After eating it seemed everyone was dissatisfied ..food wasn't good . I knew I should have just gone another mile down the road to Blue Hills Cafe...its less money and probably the best breakfast in Arizona. read more
