Service was fast and the person who helped me was nice. I picked up an order so I did not dine in their establishment. The tamales are so bad.. maybe it's because I've had real tamales from family and friends, but these are terrible. I didn't go in and have what they are known for which is tamales. This is based on what I got which was the smothered chicken burrito. The filling was okay a tad bit dry and needed more wet items like sour cream. The sauce on the outside was not my style. It was a bit too runny and the taste just wasn't there. I met the brothers when they first launched Mami's - at the time I witnessed them putting everything they had into making a local brand that matters & all these years later they've remained the most authentic expression of Mexican cuisine in the valley. I ordered a chicken burrito. All I could taste was the really spicy salty chicken. I thought there was spaghetti noodles in my burrito, but it turned out to be some kind of cheese that was not melted. It wasn't cohesive and had a very spicy flavor that I really didn't like that much. Overall, the burrito was big and well presented but I wouldn't get the chicken here. The tamales are huge and good. We often get their fish tacos. The water from the drink dispenser tasted moldy.

Food was decent. Their chips and salsa is below average as was their tacos. Friendly staff.

This restaurant was located right next to the Hampton Inn so couldn't have been more convenient for takeout dinner. We had the regular burritos (adding sour cream and guacamole makes it at Mami's for $2 more, but don't like sour cream and their guacamole has raw onions (nope)). Selected the asada and carnitas. Carnitas we're the favorite for flavor and burritos we're plenty big. Friendly service too! read more

Tonight I decided to pull in and try veggie burrito and the spicy chicken burrito. While I waited I drink an ice cold Dos XX. MAMIIIIIIIIIII!!!!!! Let me just tell you how much I love you. I love you because you just know when I've had a bad day because when my carne asada fries arrive STILL PIPING HOT, that is true love. Man, all the people complaining about non- food related grievances are a bunch of haters and Karens. This place is definitely not meant to be a sit down restaurant. They should totally get rid of their dining space and convert the whole place to a kitchen as they struggle to keep up with the high demand of take out orders. That being said, they offer generous portions for the price. Burritos are huge and tasty. Personally recommend the alambre burrito and jalapeno chip burrito. Dunno if they make it in house but the salsas are pretty good too. I have yet to try their menudo since I don't dine there on weekends but I'm looking forward to trying it if its as good as their usual offerings. As a California girl, it's near impossible to find great Mexican food in Oregon. Mom & I stopped in before I headed to the airport (they are about 10 min from airport) to grab lunch and I was pleasantly surprised by how amazing and fresh their food was. Tacos were freshly prepared. Tortillas tasted homemade. Beans (creamy) and rice (moist) were authentic.. and that green salsa . Large portions. This place is far, far better than I expected it to be. For the most part, I've been rather bored with a lot of the Mexican food places out here in Oregon. I grew up spoiled with some great places down in California. But Mami's did not disappoint! For quite a reasonable price of 10.50, you get an amazingly large and super tasty burrito that would be damn hard to get through in one sitting. I had the Fatboy Burrito and it was wonderful! Best burrito I've had in many, many years. My wife had the California Burrito and said it was pretty good, but preferred the chorizo sope she ordered and said it was extremely tasty. We shared the small carne asada fries and again...great taste at a great value. I've been craving this place since eating there this weekend. Apparently they are better known for their tamales, so I will have to see if I can drag myself away from that burrito the next time around. Great job! read more

Disappointing is an understatement! I ordered a chicken taco salad to go. When I returned to my motel room across the parking lot, and began to eat, and I discovered there was no chicken whatsoever and the "taco salad" consisted of a fried tortilla shell, some shredded lettuce and filled up with cold refried beans. After my previous 5 star visit, my expectations were high and I had anticipated a great meal, needless to say, this was a major let down especially for what I paid. FINALLLY a burrito spot in Eugene that has tasty juicy california burritos. The fries and carne asada were seasoned so well. The burrito is thiccc (it didn't even fit in the foil), the green and red salsa poured on every bite complemented it so well, and the people there were so friendly. While there are some interesting items on the menu, this did not makeup for half of our food being cold. Our tamales were dry, they did not have a traditional salsa available without paying, and the other hot sauces were average in flavour with one being unpleasantly surprising as a ghost pepper level of heat. The rice and beans are pretty average and lacked flavour. One dish was 1 star level of unpleasantness to eat and the other (burrito) was pretty average at 3 stars, so have rated this experience as a 2. I would not go out of your way to go here, as we did from I5 as the overall rating was very high and were quite disappointed, especially for being there during lunch time. read more

This place is great, however, Mimi's Tamales doesn't seem to understand raja versus pork versus chicken tamales. They will just put whatever in your order. They have mixed up our order about 8 times and they need to learn how to get it straight. Im sorry but they are needing to respect their customers orders. Nice little Mexican Fast Food restaurant...there is plenty of seating and your food is brought to your table on actual dishes, which I find a nice touch. The food is good, not great, but it was tasty and did fill the need. The menu is pretty diverse having items from standard street taco's, to burrito's, to Taquitos...on and on. Some items I did not recognize from their names. Buts thats okay. Nice atmosphere, good food. So, the sign boasts "Eugene's Best Tamales!" And while I've never tried tamales anywhere else I. Eugene, Mami's are pretty awesome! I asked the lady at the register for the two tamale combo because they say they're the best, she smiled and said, "Yes, they are!" So ordered one chicken and one Pork. She brought me my order AND a Raja (jalapeño and cheese) tamale so I could try them all. They were all great! I prefer the chicken (green sauce) and the raja tamales over the pork, but they were all really good. Good food, great service, pleasant atmosphere! :) Update: so... we've lived in Eugene for over a year now & not only do we agree that Mami's has the best tamales in Eugene, we also think they have the best Mexican food in Eugene!
