Spicy tuna had no taste. I'm used to Japanese spicy tuna. Customer service, the waiter was on point. He didn't disappeared. Last but not least, don't do walk-in. You're going to have to wait for 15-30min to be seated.Even though there's like 2 long table that are available to seat Smh. hostess told me I have 2hours to eat my food. I'm not one to yelp, but heres my 'brief' experience bc sheeeesh. I've worked in the service industry. My date and I sat in on a Tuesday evening. The hostess was nice and waitress wasn't. No refill on water the entire time plus the saltiest miso soup I've ever had was a unforgiving combination, lmao. Served no soy sauce when sushi came out. Ordered four rolls, which were horrible!!, and was given one portion of ginger. You can argue why didn't I ask for the things that could be fixed, but the waitress was avoiding us it seemed? Had to get up for soy sauce from another table to start eating and also had to get up to ask the hostess for the check. I was confused and annoyed, most of the dinner it was hard to enjoy myself and converse with my date. Rather eat at home, at least I'll have some water that way. Save your money and time, please and don't eat there. The place is meant for drinking out most likely, nightclub vibes. I feel like an asshole for this, but that was ridiculous. The Food was well worth the 45 minutes wait it took for the table but by the time we did sit down the sun had passed so it definitely became very chilly very fast. So happy i brought a sweater. I was highly disappointed in the approach he took with us, the hostess saw how upset and uncomfortable i was and within 5 minutes she showed the manager the open seating so she moved us. I thanked her a few times because if it was up to him he wouldn't have cared. The table right next to us was empty for almost 20 minutes so why force your customer to sit somewhere she didn't feel safe and try to make me feel like I had no other choice. He later came by apologized and said he understood why i would feel uncomfortable but by this time I just felt the damage was done first impression are everything. We have frequented every Mama Sushi location in NY and NJ. This is my third time eating at this location. On the first occassion, it was packed as their was only outside dining. The food was less than stellar but all things considered, the service was great. On my second occassion, I had a business lunch. The service was great but again the food was not up to par with what I've become accustomed to at the Dyckman location. We were pleased that inside dining was open and that most mandated social distancing regulations were being adhered to and enforced. Unfortunately, the frequent touching of menus and other items by staff not wearing gloves, including but not limited to the hostess, is enough opportunity to cause an outbreak. We dined only because she too was dining at the time of our arrival and did not seat us. But fir her to eat, hand to mouth, and touch every menu for each patron afterwards was alarming. As for the food, it was delicious and we were happy about that. As for the service, it was subpar. I had to make the same requests multiple times. The restaurant was empty. Patrons should not have to ask to have their water glass refilled. With the small table and multiple plates, I had to ask more than once for silverware and dishes to be discarded and I requested lemon when I ordered my drinks. When I attempted to ask the server for lemon again, she was apparently preoccupied with her cell phone. The bartender got her attention for us. She seemed bothered that she was interrupted. As a Bronxite, it pains me to say, with so many options for good food accompanied by good service in my Borough, I don't think I will have a 4th experience at this location. read more

We came across Mamasushi, and chosen to walk in and go for it. The server was adorable and full of knowledge. The food was fresh and tasty, let's not disregard the pineapple drink, a must have. The dealing with of social far off from the eatery is unquestionably critical for me. Kudos to mamasushi for doing a good job with the social distancing. Started off the happy hour menu. The Wanton fish tacos were Terrible. The wanton / taco shell was stale and the chopped up salmon filling was dry. Moved on to sushi. What a complete joke!! Had no flavor. Ended up only eating one of rolls (lobster and steak) and throwing out my other roll. It was tempura with crab and something else, DO NOT recommend. The service is terrible, we waited over an hour just to be seated an another half an hour to take our order. The host took my name and number and told me to wait for a text/call. People who came after me were being seated before me because they were friends with the bouncer at the door. Once our food came out, they didn't bring any condiments and that was another 10 minute wait. Almost thought I was walking into a club on a Friday night. Very busy and very loud. Darkened interior. We were seated promptly and service was good. Did I mention this place has hookah! Definitely a spot to hear good Latin music while you dine. Ohh yeah and plenty of dancing going on throughout the aisles. I had to protect my drink from getting spilled as the dancers kept knocking the table. Anywaysss my shrimp bun was really good, my Steak and lobster roll was pretty average. I forced myself to eat all of them as the more you eat it the less you actually want to consume. My drink was very good , I had the lychee Mojito, next time I'll order a glass of ice on the side to chill it down a bit as it was quite warm. Last night I went to Mamasushi with a friend of mine and we were greet by a tall build handsome guy lol, the host was a female who guide us to our seats near the street ( Not too transit) it was okay Few seconds later our waitress came introduced herself (her name is Ana) she offer us water or mineral water. She came back with our water and I ask us if we want something to drink I looked at drinks menu and I ask her which one of those drinks are from light to strong and she couldn't answer my question but she said ( The bartender use measurement cups but if wanna a lite drink she can let him know) in my personal opinion all waiters and waitresses should know about drinks so they can recommend which drinks suit customers needs! Well I ordered the Chinola and my friend had Honey drink; she came back with our drinks She asked if we were ready to order our food and yes we were lol, I had Steak medium well with Tostones and my friend had sushi platter. Omg drinks were super delicious ( Not too strong) and the food speechless.. few minutes after our food arrived they were a large group and they asked us if we could seat near the heater on the other side we said yes and we were glad we did because it was super "warm" and I think it was the manager he asked us if we want him to turn on the lights we said no because we have enough lights where we were seating (Thanks), they did their best to made us feel comfortable after they moved us to another table. We went to eat indoors today and after stepping in, it looked a little crowded, they had outdoor dining set up but it was empty. I did mention sitting outdoors but it felt like the hostess almost encouraged me to sit inside. The music: entirely too loud, upon entering, the woman asking me for my info got very close because of this. I couldn't speak to my partner at the table. When I tried to order, the waitress said that she couldn't hear me. We started to order but then decided that we couldn't enjoy it here. First time here with a large group of friends. I wasn't disappointed, but I wasn't wowed either. We dined outdoors and the food & beverages arrived quickly. The best drink was the Mama Colada which was served in a pineapple. We ordered a couple of Pu Pu Platters for the table which gave us a wide selection of appetizers: spring rolls, coconut shrimp, crab cakes, dumplings, ribs. I also ordered spicy salmon and tuna rolls. They were room temperature, no chill to them at all which is what I'm accustomed to. This made me nervous, so I stopped eating them. The spring rolls, coconut shrimp, and crab cakes were tasty enough for me to revisit here if I'm in the neighborhood. The bento box is a cool option but for $20 the "stir fry vegetables" should not just be aromatics (onions and peppers). This is a menu with vegan rolls that include mushrooms, zucchini, eggplant, asparagus, box choy- but the Stir fry vegetables are onions and peppers??? ... sad. the table gets 2 mayo based sauces- when I asked for a vegan option they offered eel sauce as a alternative- at a fee $2 for the little cup you see.
