Mama's is awesome for sit down and take out. A little bit more on the pricey side but worth it. The staff is always very attentive. The healthy person in me always want to order a salad but once you look at the menu that person gets sat on by Bolognese and gnocchi that will blow your mind. This Italian restaruant and Pizzaria has great Pizza and even better meals. The restaurant portion is nice and cozy with booths. The wine list is decent. I definitely recommend this place more on the weekends as the weekday food, ie monday-thursday was a little different (ie not as Rich) than friday night sat/sun etc. The Mozzarella Corozza is awesome. All the entrees are great. Portions are out of this world. If you want to have desert. Order light. You are going to get a lot of food. The wine list is good. They turned me on to Reislings. It is not just a pizza shoppe- they have the best pasta dishes you can ever imagine. Get the penne alla vodka, it's a local favorite and you will not be disappointed. Mama's is home to the best salad dressing i've ever had. You will be missing out if you don't try their balsamic vinaigrette. My best friend Tammi and I often say that it should be a food group within itself. All of the pasta dishes are amazing and the staff is always friendly. Ordered a pie, half meatball, well done, extra sauce. Got a pie half meatball, soupy, little sauce. Called them up (I never do that) to ask what the deal was. Got put on hold four times. Then the dude that finally answered asked me what "soupy" meant. Now if you've eaten pizza more than twice in your life, you know what "soupy" means. So I explained to this person whose livelihood is made by making pizza what "soupy" pizza is. He replied that the only way the cheese slides right off is because there is too much sauce. I then explained that I was in the know as far as the color of pizza sauce and I had no vision problems that day and could not locate much sauce on the sloppy, floppy, gooey mess he made for me. Was told they don't take reservations-ok. Got to the restaurant & there were two other tables pre set for large groups (same amount of people as ours). One waiter even assumed one of the tables was set up for us because I said I called, but it wasn't. Turn Off. Then came the service. The waitress had an attitude & walked away before we could as for things. Also auctioned off our food which is a no no. I have been going to Mamas for almost my entire life. Grew up in this town and remember the place from way back when it was a small pizza shop. The food is good. The service is terrible. Its always great to see small businesses grow. However, this establishment has forgotten the reason why they are successful. Your food can be great and the restaurant gorgeous. However, with out the customers, you have nothing. I usually order for pick up and the guys at the pizza counter are extremely rude. They see you as just another few dollars walking in. I had my credit card thrown back at me today, told to get on line to pick up an order I placed over the phone, and was not even given the slightest thank you for ordering. The sad part is, this is mot the first time. There are many other places in the area with great food and at the very least decent service. Thank you Mamas for the memories growing up. This Father's Day June 2019 I decided to take my son out to dinner for Father's Day, I bragged to him about Mamas how great was the food ,I have been there 4/5 times the food was really good n nice portions , while I understand during holidays n special events the Restsurant it's real busy there's casualties here there , however I ordered the shrimp scampi, normally it's delicious nice size shrimp with a side dish of pasta . They butterfly the shrimp first grilled n then add the sauce , this time I got big shrimps not butterflied they looked like frozen precooked shrimps had no flavor , that were tossed in the scampi sauce sitting on top of the pasta witch usually comes separate plate , same thing fir my sons dish everything in one plate .i was very disappointed. read more

been going here for awhile and it def has pretty good food went on Friday night and got the stuffed veal chop special which I have to say I was not impressed with it. Especially after I found out I got charged $40 for it the veal was a bit dry and the breadcrumbs were burnt :( I also got charged about 14$ a piece for there strawberry lemonade which I added a shot of grey goose too even though the place has pretty good food I think 120$ for two people to eat is a bit pricey for what you get :( read more

First time there and it was Chicken Special night! $13.95 for a chicken entree with a salad coffee and cheese cake. Complimentary Garlic knots were hot fresh, soft and covered in oil and parm. The salad was fresh and pretty plain with only a few slices of carrots and a tomato wedge. I ordered the creamy Italian dressing which was store bought I'm sure. Out of the twenty different chicken dishes, I ordered the Chicken Putanesca without the capers. The sauce was perfect with crushed tomatos, thin sliced onions, large pieces of garlic and calamata olives. The chicken was thin cut and well cooked. I ordered the Penne on the side with marinara to try a different sauce. The penne came in red water..I think they didn't drain the pasta enough before putting it in a bowl. I would recommend just getting the chicken over the penne, to begin with. Coffee was good, and Cheese Cake was OK with a gritty texture. The atmosphere was one of the best features. The Yankees playoff game was on the TVs the booth seats were comfortable and the tables clean. Clean bathrooms also. My daughter ordered a kids Baked Zitti which was a massive plate the same size as mine full of pasta which had Ricotta too and was a great deal for $8.00, but it didn't come with a drink or a desert. Overall it was a pleasant atmosphere, with good serves, delicious food at a reasonable price for the portion size. read more

Attention Mama's owners. I would like to start this off by saying that without GREG I wouldn't have had an experience that I did. He is the the most genuine person I've ever met. He really works hard and for the first time meeting Greg I couldn't have asked for a better waiter. He's the reason I will come back and really made my Christmas lunch amazing. Greg took control of all his tables was super attentive to everyone and never left a glass empty and made the food even taste better just by being who he is. This place is amazingly delicious. I would eat here every day if I could! They have a nice varied menu and the food is top-notch, you can find your regular Italian favorites as well as Italian inspired dishes. Everything is huge and delicious, you WILL have leftovers! The atmosphere is romantic and classy, I felt underdressed! The prices are expensive but they do special pasta and chicken nights during the week which are much cheaper. I grew up on Mama's, it has been my family's go to Italian spot for over 25 years. A restaurant that would make you feel like you were home, is no longer the same. I am also a job coach for adults with developmental disabilities at the CVS next door, and every week we grab a slice of pizza at mamas after work. I have more patience than most and never complain unless I am truly upset. Now I know we are in the middle of a pandemic and times are hard, but I don't believe that is an excuse for rude service. Many businesses have adjusted to the hardships, and are rising above the challenges. My experience yesterday at mamas seemed as if they were using the pandemic as an excuse to be rude and nasty to customers. Yes, it was Mother's Day and I'm sure they were stressed, but there were no updates on their website, Facebook or instagram accounts about how they would be conducting orders. I tried to place an order on Friday over the phone and was told it was too early. I tried to call back Sunday morning, and later found out they took their phones of the hook. When I went in to order at 1pm, I was told I was too late and if I wanted food I needed to order it now and pick it up now. Well that was my only option so I went with it. 20 minutes later my food was ready. I saw there were garlic knots wrapped up in what looked like used aluminum foil, meanwhile I paid for garlic knots that were in a tin. When I asked about this the man behind the counter said to me "if you come here all the time you should know the dinners come with garlic knots." I did not know if that was the same with takeout orders, and tried to explain that to him. Next thing I know I have three men yelling and mocking me from behind the counter, saying I don't understand how a restaurant works and that due to the fact they are only doing take out orders things are hard on them. I'm sorry but I have been to multiple other establishments that are going above and beyond. I've seen plexiglass over counters, hand sanitizers for customers to use, clear and concise directions and updates on social media. None of which mamas had. There were arrows on the floor, yet customers were still confused and not following the directions due to the lack of organization the restaurant and their staff had. It seemed everyone had an attitude and that they didn't want to be working. When I brought my food home, one of the containers wasn't sealed properly and leaked all over. My cheesecake was put in the bag upside down, and the penne alla vodka which is usually my favorite, was so dry with barely any sauce on it. Mamas is no longer the only good Italian restaurant in the area. They need to remember it's not all about money, and go back to their roots when they were a little hometown restaurant in a shopping center that truly cared about their customers. It's sad to see other reviews saying the same. I would have probably turned a blind eye to the disappointment I had in the food and chalked that up to it being Mother's Day during a pandemic, but because of how I was spoken to and how I was treated I felt I needed to leave a review for others to see. Holy cannoli, this place has great food! My boyfriend hyped it up, so my expectations were pretty high to begin with. Came in around 7:30 on a Saturday night so we expected to wait. They don't take reservations but I think that's only fair - first come, first serve. Waited about 45 mins. Most places give the standard Italian bread/rolls. Mama's gives you garlic knots. And not the oily, overly-garlic kind; they were perfectly seasoned and right out of the oven. Drinks were good - boyfriend had a glass of Cabernet and I got the red Sangria and there was something different about it. Definitely didn't taste like any red Sangria I've had elsewhere. I wonder what the secret ingredient is.... Red sugared rim is a nice touch! I was a tad upset I couldn't sub my house salad for a Caesar, but then I would have missed out on the amazing balsamic house dressing. I even saved the extra to dip the knots in! Entrees came and portions were plenty. I got the stuffed rigatoni with chicken and boyfriend got the rigatoni ala vodka. He cleared his plate and I took the rest home for lunch the next day (I filled up on the knots!). The service was great. Even for a busy Saturday night, our server was friendly and courteous.
