PROS: This place was very cute. The staff was friendly, the store goes far back, the prices are reasonable for a ma and pa store, and the quality of items are good. They sell puppies and other pets as well CONS: They only have street parking and the variety of items isn't a large as petco obviously OVERALL: If you want to support local businesses and need pet supplies, than this is the place to go. read more

What an awful experience!! Firstly, just walking in to the store I was overcome with a horrendous smell. The owner was extremely rude and short with me and told me that he gave away my appointment because I showed up barely late for a 3 hour appointment. I have been warned by others about this store but I decided to give them a try because they are local and had some good reviews but after walking into that nightmare of a shop I learned my lesson. If you love your pet and have any self-respect, stay away from this terrible place. read more

Took my puppy here today. Told them that it's his first time, he's 5-mths old. They asked me to come pick him up 3 hrs later. When I drove all the way down 3 hrs later, I found out that they haven't even started grooming him. I was very pissed, because they could've at least called me and told me he is not ready yet. They ask me to come back in half an hour. I go back later finding him not to be fully groomed. His head wasn't done. They tell me that my dog "is crazy" and that he bit the groomer and he was acting "crazy". Furious, I explain that this is his first time and of course, he will act nervous. That's why you needed to start 3 hrs ago, take a break, continue, take another break and continue, so he doesn't freak out. To which the guy responds "you don't understand, I'm telling you your dog is crazy". Which he's not. They ask me to bring my puppy back the next day so they can groom the head. And he asks for the full price of grooming. I explain that I will pay half the price, since the job is not done. But they answer "this is not our fault, it's your dog's fault, he didn't let us groom his head". At this point I was so amazed by the rude and unprofessional service here that I promise not to come back ever again!! And I had to argue for another 10 mins so they charge only for the work they did. What a waste of time. Stay away from this place!! read more

Love this store!! Just got my Maltese puppy here, took her to the vet and she is very healthy! Very good pricing, healthy dogs, very clean and perfect! I think they are the best store in bergen county! I looked EVERYWHERE for a small puppy and usually you go to a puppy store and they have 4 puppy's in a small cage with 100 other puppy's in the store.. But they are DIFFERENT! Just a few puppy's, very clean, smells good and look like happy puppy's!!!! The owner and his employee were very professional and caring, even gave me his cell number and called me to make sure she is doing ok! It's very rare to find people that are caring like them! Really recommend this store read more

NEVER COME HERE. I left my dog here while going on a trip and when I came back, my dog had a growing rash/and several scabs, and they haven't yet even gone away. We've used constant medicine, trying new shampoos, none of it has been working so far. And even worse yet, the man working here said "I'm not in charge." Even if he's not in charge of the establishment, he should be in charge, or at least partially in charge, of my dog's wellbeing. He barely even cared. He also had no idea what it was, where it came from, and when it began in there. For all I know it could be some infection or it could've been on my dog for weeks and he was so ignorant he didn't even notice. Terrible staff responsibility, and unless you want your pet to grow some mystery rash, scabs, and redness I'd suggest walking FAR away from here and going to an actually responsible, caring establishment that isn't ignorant of your pet. As soon as they spot anything they start LEGIT, GOOD medication and notify you immediately, unlike how Mama's and Papa's did for us. Please listen so your pet doesn't get any problems like mine did. And it might be even more serious for you. Don't take the risk and don't come here. read more

My husband and I came here in a rush because our cat food order from Chewy is coming a day later than expected. When we asked the worker for help on which brand to get, he gave us free samples to last us until our order comes in. They have a wide range of toys, leashes, food, litter, beds, and clothes for both cats and dogs - though they have more merchandise for dogs. The prices are a little high for my liking, but the quality matches the price. Pro tip: if you get a membership card with them, you get a discount on food, grooming, boarding, and other things. read more

Bought my adorable puppy Shumai here, a West-highland Terrier. She is the greatest, healthiest, friendliest and most loving creature in the world. Shawn was wonderful. I would not hesitate to stop in and check them out! read more

They have the cutest puppies here! I've never gotten one (but I always want to when I come in here!) but they always look so healthy and active unlike other pet stores! They will only have a few at a time but they really take care of their puppies. I usually get toys for my dog here, they have a nice selection of toys when I feel like spoiling my baby! read more

There are so many things at this store! Super convenient and never have to question the products being sold. The owner is a very nice gentleman who takes really good care of the puppies being sold. They're healthy and happy and always seem to be rotated in the front window so they each get plenty of play time. I brought my rot/lab mix who is overly hyper to the store and they were very patient and friendly with him! Tons of pet foods, toys and accessories! All the dogs getting groomed look so clean and well taken care of. The owner has a real fondess to the puppies being sold and the dogs coming in to get groomed and treats them with love and care. Check it out! Definite recommend!!! You can probably find anything you want in this store. read more

We got our first puppy from here and he was and is as healthy as can be. However we went back recently to add another member to our family and we picked a 3lb yorkie. He started vomitting and was a bit lethargic so we took him to the vet and found his liver enzymes were high. Turned out he was from a puppy mill after some research. We exchanged the yorkie for a maltese and when we went to pick her up he forgot to groom h and fought with us about taking her home. After a compromise we took her home and then noticed she was coughing so we went back to the vet and not only did she have kennel cough (for who knows how long), but both hips needed surgery, and both ears were infected. read more

My first time here, the gentlemen (owner I presume) didn't acknowledge us. I assumed he was just having a off day.... Today I came back for a second time. I wanted to ask some questions about the puppies here but the owner ignored us tending to others. It was fine at first- as he was busy, but then he said something rude to my husband and I. We didn't appreciate his rudeness towards us, esp, since we are potentially his new customers. His store seemed nice, but the owner seemed to discriminate. Unfortunately, I need to give him low reviews. I hope he treats future customers better. read more

I brought my maltese/poodle here a couple of times for grooming and didn't have any problems...however, after this last visit, I will never be coming in again. This past week, I came to pick up my dog, Oscar, paid for his grooming, and walked out. Because it had been raining earlier, I decided to carry Oscar to keep him from getting dirty. When I bent down to pick him up I noticed blood on his stomach and a huge gash. I'm not terribly queasy when it comes to blood or cuts and I nearly fainted - it was that bad. I turned around and walked back in the shop. When I showed the owner, he told me to wait and he called the groomer. She came out after he called her a couple more times and acted like she didn't know what happened when I showed her my dog's wound. She then proceeded to tell me it would be OK and "wouldn't get infected." I told her that it absolutely would get infected and I needed something to put on the wound. They told me to use a little peroxide like it wasn't a big deal and I was overreacting. I snapped back that my dog was going back to work with me and that I didn't have any peroxide there. The groomer still acted like she didn't know what happened, and the owner gave me a bottle of antiseptic and cotton balls, then sent me on my way. After I returned to work and had calmed down a bit, I thought, "why should I pay for this?" I called the owner back and told him that not only was the cut so bad that I may have to take my dog to the vet, but they should have had the courtesy to tell me what happened rather than letting me discover it myself. I also told him I wanted a refund. He tried to explain it was the girl's FIRST DAY (and had to be her first appointment because I brought Oscar in at 9am), and she was "afraid" to tell him or me what had happened, as though this was an acceptable excuse. I told him I really didn't care and that he clearly had negligent hiring practices and employee supervision for someone to butcher a dog this badly on the first try. He finally agreed to a refund but said I had to come back to the store...by this time, I had already wasted a lot of my day. Because I was at work, I was busy and was unable to make it back to the store immediately. The owner called me twice and left voicemails asking if I would just accept free grooming next time. I told him "no thanks." I did get my refund (after going all the way back to the store), and the owner gave me an Elizabethan collar because my dog was licking his wound. However, I never received an apology! I also would like to add that I have been told by numerous groomers that my dog is very calm and he's easy to groom. Even if being spastic were an excuse for such a deep cut (which it is not), I can honestly say that is not the case with my dog. Oscar's stomach is still puffy and I had to use butterfly bandages to pull the skin together. It has not started scabbing so I'm also afraid I will have to take him to the vet for stitches or antibiotics. Bottom line, I used to think this was a reputable place, but not only did they hide the fact that they injured my dog, i had to ask for a refund and never received an apology. Avoid this place at all costs! read more

The other reviews make me a little nervous but i've taken my maltese/shitzu there about 10 times, and never had a problem. Once the grooming was a little off (some hairs were still there, but other times its satisfactory. Dog always comes back smelling nice too. I'm not gonna say the owner is very friendly, but he's never been rude either. prices are fair at $50 for a small dog for grooming. The store itself is great and clean and in a good location. Hopefully i wont have any horror stories myself in the future. read more

I get my dog groomed here. Price is pretty reasonable she always comes back happy, smelling great for over a week and a nice bandanna. :)

I just had my cat groomed and cleaned here. It was my first time taking my cat to be cleaned by a professional groomer. Even though my cat is a very hard cat to handle, it seems like they did a very good job at it. My baby is clean and smells very good again. Definitely will try again in the future. Also the price seems very affordable and reasonable. read more

Great service and prices are fair as well. They always insist to help me carry my bags, so considerate

Please be careful bringing you dogs here. I've had a really bad experience here as well as my neighbor and parents/sister dogs. I'm am absolutely certain that they either medicate or do something to the animals here when they groom them. I say this because my sister and neighbor both bought their dogs here and both got sick a few hours later making really loud cough noises like they couldn't breath or was choking on something. I didn't know this and bought my dog and later complained to to them about it and that's when we realized something wasn't right. read more

The puppies in this store are cute but the owner who runs this place is definitely not courteous or respectful to his patrons at all. After entering the store and being ignored completely my wife and I decided to play with the puppies in the front of the store. Still not being helped at this point he yells up to the front of the store in a rude manor "take it easy with the puppies". I would understand this if we were throwing it around or being really rough but we were simply rolling a ball around in is cage. I normally enjoy visiting pet stores and seeing the different animals but I must at he took the joy out of it for us... read more

For the first time I had my dog groomed here (only bc my brother gave me a gift cert) and they did a decent job! Only thing is my dog came back coughing and throwing up for two hours. I suspect they gave him something maybe to groom him easier because I have never seen my dog like this. I did some more investigation and found out my neighbor went to this place and had the same problem as well as my sister when they both had their dogs groomed @ mamas & papas. I advise you to please be cautious before bringing your babies here. read more

What are you guys talking about?? This place is great. I bought my puppy from here, any medicine that was needed they provided initially, which is great. The owner seems to care about his puppies. We got our puppy groomed here twice, with general direction. It came out great, since this was my first puppy so I didn't know what type of cut to give him. With general direction they'll give you what want. Great job. read more
