She has squeezed us in on the fly, she has clipped all of my dogs nails as walk-ins without appointments because we truly can't do it (our dogs can be difficult- but they listen for her). The team is quick and efficient and her prices are reasonable. She is such a doll..all four of our dogs throughout the years, Melvin (chihuahua corgi mix who has since passed) Jax (chiweenie - also passed), Ace (pit lab mix) and Rocket (chihuahua terrier mix) adore her. I'm not one to normally talk about a business I haven't officially used. But when setting up an appointment I was told that the annual shots don't matter for dogs and the vets aren't always right etc. I cancelled immediately. The owner, Andreia, is exceptionally rude. We asked for grooming service for our puppy, and upon arrival we were met with hostility and frustration for no reason. The owner disputed the dog's age, breed, and instead of performing the service we requested, she added on additional services ($$$) to our surprise upon pickup... Our dog returned home literally wet, and his nails were sharper than when we brought him in the first place!!!?? When we tried to call and speak with her, she immediately got very defensive and disrespectful to our grandmother over the phone. Definitely do not go here. I took my very knotted Cockapoo for the first time. The lady that greeted me (I didn't get her name) was friendly and welcoming. Right away she explained to me that my dog was going to need a very short cut. Because of my previous experience with my former groomer I was afraid they were going to nip and cut her skin. I prayed and hoped for the best lol I dropped off at 11:30 and at 12:35 received a call that my dog was going to be ready in 15 mins. I couldn't believe how fast that was! My former groomer would take 3 hrs and not do such a great job. I was pleased with the cut. It was very short but I understood it had to be because of the knots. When I got home I examined my dog and noticed they did a great job overall. Her ears were spotless! The cut itself wasn't choppy or uneven. And most importantly my baby was happy! I will definitely book with PPS again and look forward to getting a cute teddy bear cut next time! read more

I've been using Paramus Puppy Spa for a number of years. I have always gotten exceptional service over the phone in scheduling and they are nothing less than outstanding when I walk through the door. They are not the closest option for me as I live in Wood-Ridge, but I find their level of professionalism mixed with kindness more than a reason to drive the few extra minutes. The owner is a sweetheart, and certainly hires a staff to match her (dog) loving personality. I am never dissatisfied with Brownie's cleaned up look, and with a generous selection of dog perfumes/colognes to sample at the counter we always leave looking (and smelling) our best. I have been coming to Paramus Puppy Spa (PPS) for a few years now and I LOVE THIS PLACE! First of all, they do a great job with my cock-a-poo, Twix. He's always looking and feeling great when he leaves PPS! Second, every since staff member is a JOY to work with. I'm always greeted with a smile...I can even hear it when I call in! The staff is so professional and SUPER FRIENDLY! Third, they do their BEST to accommodate their customers schedules are help with emergency situations. My dog was sprayed by a skunk...twice within the past 3 years...and BOTH times PPS was able to take him the very next morning to help out with this STINKY situation! They recognize the emergency and bend over backwards to help out! Also, they are quick! Don't be mistaken, because this is NOT at the expense of a job well done because I'm always pleased with their work. A few months ago when I was picking up Twix after his cut I was told that he might have allergies since they found some scabs on him and his eyes were messy. I was actually on my way to the vet, so when I asked the vet said that PPS was right and Twix was suffering from allergies! WOW! I was so surprised because he never had this problem before! I was so thankful to PPS for not only having the knowledge of what it was, but for taking such good care of him during the grooming session and letting me know. Honestly disappointed by the experience not because of a haircut, but because my puppy's nail was cut so deeply it bled. This was my first time going to this groomer for my 7 month puppy since the one I had been to before was closed and a bit further. The reviews looked great and they got me in as soon as possible. The appointment only took an hour and when I got my pup, her cut was cute and she looked less messy. I got home and within 10 min of being there I notice there is blood on the floor. I looked to see what happened and one of her front paw nails was cut so short it was bleeding! I called them up immediately to inform them and although the woman apologized, all she said was to bring her back to get some treatment for it and it hadn't been noticed at the salon. I took her back, they put the medicine on, apologized again as I left and that was all. It seemed to not phase them as much as it did me, which says a lot! It's unfortunate because I really liked the cut they gave but cutting her nail to the point of bleeding and barely showing that it was a big mistake is definitely not any good form of customer service or care for a puppy! read more

Hi so my name is Charlie & I am an apricot golden-doodle. My mum and dad took me to Paramus Spa to get me all groomed up. I was supposed to be dematted and trimmed. My parents comb me out once every two weeks. On a bad day it takes 20 minutes. The groomer at Paramus Grooming Spa shaved me down as shown on the bottom right box. I get really cold at night and my skin is reacting really negatively due to the short shave down. I have been to 3 other groomers and I have never been trimmed down entirely. The groomer at Paramus Spa didn't make an effort to dematt me. How is it that 3 other grooming places have been able to do it and not this place? My parents are highly displeased with the outcome. It was my first time at this Spa. Super friendly staff, clean and cute little spot. Parking which is a plus Haircut came out as expected so no complaints there. That take card and cash. Now for the cons My dog didn't have a perfume smell like I am use to at my regular spot. She also only had a bow on top of her head. My other spot put a cute little things around neck and hair clips or bows. Guess they spoil me lol. Now my biggest issue was pricing. I looked online for "small dog" price which is listed as $40+. My dog always gets groomed. She is very well behaved during the process, she is small and her hair was already pretty short. I was thinking it would be the $40 but far from it. They charged me $65. I usually pay $50 at my regular spot and I get the works. So I asked the lady where that price came from if website says $40. Apparently my dog isn't considered a small dog to them. They also base it on dogs who have long hair and dogs with short. That was her reason behind it. Now big dogs are listed as $60+. Very confusing. Guess that's what I get for not asking for price over the phone. Paid the $65 and learned my lesson. Deff was over priced but a go to if your regular groomer can't for you in. read more

When I first brought my pup in I had explained that she has had some AT-HOME eye injuries in the past and being extremely careful with her eyes is a must. They ensured me of her safety and will take all precautions necessary to avoid any contact towards her eyes. Called and got the appointment on a busy Saturday for the first time here for my puppy. Dropped him off and said they need to shave my dog down close to the skin because his hair is matted and cannot be brushed off. We were reluctant to have him shaved too close to the skin so decided not to do it, just the regular shave. When I was leaving him there, people with the same size and type dog were charged $55 so I thought the same. Came back an hour or so later I was told that he was not easy to work with. He looked like an old dog with the haircut. They said they were able to take the matted hair out and we got charged $70! I was like what? We have been going to Paramus Puppy Spa for over 5 years. The love and attention they give our dogs ( they have taken care of 4 of them over the years) is beyond anything you would ever expect. We have one dog that is super nervous, but runs the owner everytime with the tail wagging ( we call her his girlfriend). Why this fell short of a 5th start is due to the fact some of her trimming lines where not straight and I think for the price it should be. Since it is a short hair dog, I only needed the bath and supplies for my pet, and every since I took my dog to Paramus Puppy Spa, my dog knows the days of the bath and automatically jumps in the car to go...I never saw that coming. I can tell that the workers/groomers at this placed took care of my dog so well, that my dog (their customer) was eager to go back. I don't know if I should feel offended that my dog prefers to be bathed there more than it likes to be bathed by me!! The front desk staff is very helpful and professional.
