Our first hand dining experience: The young woman thats takes your phone order has a snippy attitude. Our order was pretty good , we had high hopes for a new dining spot. So We had a first hand experience attempting to dine in. Waitress - same snippy & nasty person who answers the phone . We sat at table we were not given menus at least a good 5 minutes or so seemed longer waiting, got up & asked for menus . The waitress said she be there soon with quite an attitude, while she was stuffing her face with some sort of dessert . We are new to the area and from northern NJ where pizza is top notch. It's been tough to find a pizza place in the Manahawkin area that lives up to our standards...but now we found Mama Rosa and are able to finally enjoy pizza in our new area! This place is a pizza/restaurant where you can step in for a slice or you can sit in the dining room and order. So far we tried their chicken parm sub with vodka sauce which my husband said was the best he has had since we moved. We also ordered the tomato pie. They have two types: one with cheese below sauce (old fashioned) and the other is sauce with sprinkled parm cheese(traditional). These are my two favorite! I can't wait to go back and sit in the dining room for a nice meal...it's also a BYOB...my fav! read more

I live right down the street so this is convenient but also the food last night was so, so delicious. We ordered delivery of a chicken parm sub and baked ziti bolognese. I wish I took a pic because that makes the review so much better but we were too hungry and dug right in. The food arrived quickly. The delivery person was very nice. This pizzeria has the thinnest crust in Manahawkin/ Barnegat and they had a round vodka pie out for slices. If that's not your fancy than take a walk. Buffalo chicken slice was outstanding using breaded chicken not grilled. Could have used more blue cheese over top. First time there and was so impressed. Time after time they have done nothing but messed up order after order, my family has spent hundreds of dollars in this restaurant and it seems to never change it's the order with a side of attitude every time we call. Food is always cold things are always forgotten or messed up. Well tonight was the last straw for me. Ordered a turkey blt with no tomato. Got 1 maybe 2 pieces of bacon broken up into 4 pieces an insane amount of mayo turkey is disgusting. The bread is as hard as there bagels down the road if you didn't know they own that as well "dolce bagels" don't recommend there business either. Went to the hospital last year had to get 4 stitches from trying to cut open one there bagels. I really thought maybe things would change around after this place opened up but I was wrong. Grandma pizza was excellent- sauce was slightly sweet, mozz super fresh, and crust was thin and perfectly crispy. My mom loved her shrimp scampi over angel hair- shrimp were huge and sauce tasty. They really need to either fix their online menu with the slice app or make a real working website that shows their ACTUAL menu. I went to order a pizza online and it brought me directly to the slice app. The menu items had no explanations of what ingredients or toppings were on their pizzas. Ultimately I had to call to ask what vegetables were on their vegetable pie. They spouted off a list of things and we ordered it. When I got home my husband opened the box and shrieked "there's no cheese on this pizza!". I honestly thought he was joking or you just could t see it under the plethora of veggies but nope definitely no cheese. I thought to myself maybe they forgot? But then again how does a pizza joint forget cheese? I ended up calling and asking if that was standard practice and ultimately they said yes unless you ASK for cheese. What the?
