I ordered a bowl loaded with roasted sweet potatoes, which I love, along with sirloin steak and citrus chicken thigh, black beans, brown rice, carrots, red onions, baby spinach, green peppers, cucumbers, and egg. Basically, all the ingredients I would normally build for myself at home, just assembled efficiently and handed to me without the cleanup. The setup is cafeteria style, and I am perfectly fine with that. I actually prefer it over the help yourself buffet model where hygiene becomes a shared community experiment. Here, everything is controlled, assembled behind the counter, and moved along quickly. That gives me peace of mind, especially when you never quite know how mindful the person next to you is about washing their hands. What stood out is that the food was not just convenient, it was genuinely good. Fresh ingredients. Balanced flavors. Filling without feeling heavy. The dressing tied everything together and was honestly scrumptious. It elevated what could have been a standard health bowl into something I would happily go back for. If you need something healthy, customizable, and fast, especially when you are on the go, SoFresh delivers exactly that. It checks the boxes for clean ingredients, solid protein, and real flavor without overcomplicating the experience.

They have many different types of bowls and other options like wraps. They also have great smoothies and juices. I highly recommend this place for a healthy lunch.

While their hours have shortened…read morebecause of the pandemic, it's still the perfect place to grab a quick bite or try a new kind of specialty drink into the evening. Their coffee is great, but my favorites are the chai and Thai teas! They have their own cute stickers now, and I'm always checking for new board games in the corner by the door for customers to use! The bathroom was also recently painted to make room for more doodles. I think the location is the absolute best between all the street parking, the proximity to everything downtown, and the wonderful staff! It's right next to a nice pottery painting spot, and they never mind it when I bring over my orders to sip on while I get artsy. If you're a Florida tech student, they used to (and probably still do) offer student discounts. But the prices are already very affordable!

I was told I had to order from the menu right away, and when I hadn't placed my order within about 10 minutes, the owner told me she would call the police and have me trespassed. When I explained that I was planning to order a smoothie, she told me to "stop playing the victim" and demanded that I leave. I've never experienced anything like this at a business I've supported for so long. Being threatened with trespassing over taking a few extra minutes to decide what to order was completely unnecessary and extremely disappointing. Unfortunately, after this experience, I can't recommend this place the way I used to.

She says they are the best in town. AND AND the sorrel is the best i have ever have and that includes in Jamaica but i don't like it with that strong bitter ginger taste. The people who own it ( a family business) are nice and funny and such good cooks. Zion the cook can lay down the food!! I recommend trying the food what can it hurt. I am SURE once u try it u will be hooked. It's not a cheap run it for a sandwich kind of place. It's good homemade made to order food. DELICIOUS!!!

Lots of accolades from local papers on the wall. The little Greek man greets you and is a hoot. The lady who took our order was also very friendly. We had our go to favorites. Classic Gyro and Pastichio. The gyro was huge and filled with meat. A bit dry for my taste and the tazaki sauce helped a bunch. The pastachio was great. With side salad it hit the spot. The dressing was very good. They do offer some Jamaican flavors at times but not today. Protip. Park in the back. It is just easier and that is where the handicap spots are. FYI

**INITIAL REVIEW**…read more Most of my fellow Yelpers know if food were categorized by a genre, breakfast and brunch has a special place in my heart. Ergo, I am on the constant search for more breakfast and brunch places to add to my repertoire. With that in mind, I must stress that Historic Downtown Melbourne a.k.a. Melbourne Main Street has an amazing number of breakfast and brunch places. But the one I admire the most is The Roots Restaurant Tavern, which I will shorthand simply to The Roots for the remainder of this review. Though an address is provided, it must be stressed The Roots is a little "off the mainstreet" of Melbourne Main Street. Just west of the train tracks, the road splits in which the northernly direction is the continuation of New Haven Ave. or the actual Melbourne Main Street. The Roots is on the southern road, right next to The Iron Oak. Take note that The Roots is quite a cozy location. On the outside, The Roots has this look of an old saloon out in the wild west. There are a few tables and chairs for outdoor seating, excellent for people-viewing while eating your meal. Inside, The Roots looks delightfully tacky with all the knick-knacks hanging around and about on the walls. Imagine how Cracker Barrel used to look before the new CEO decided the decor should be more minimalist. But my statement on how The Roots looks small from the outside definitely shows when you are inside, too. The place is small. They definitely utilize the space as best they could, with large party seating being in the back for only one party. Still, take note of this limitation. My waitresses were very kind and attentive when serving me. But I am sure you all want to know about the food. The times I have eaten here, I have had three meals: The Eggs Benny Flight, and Pancake Flight, and Shrimp n' Grits. I will detail each in the pictures of food (if I have them), but I will say that everything here was delicious. My one lone criticism is that some of these flights are best enjoyed with another, not by yourself. On a sidenote, the restroom is clean and stocked, but there is only one and it is unisex. As I said earlier, The Roots is the best breakfast and brunch restaurant, well for me, in Historic Downtown Melbourne. So it is understandable why I am giving them a five-out-of-five stars for their review. Food, service, and ambiance are all excellent and the issues are way too minimal for me to consider them having any major affect. If you are ever going to eat at The Roots only once. My suggestion are the flights. Either eggs bennies, pancakes, or mimosas, you can't go wrong with any of them.
