While I did greatly appreciate that they use ceramic mugs instead of paper if you choose, I was disappointed in how it almost cost $10 for a nondairy latte. The second time I went I ordered a chai latte and found out they use the mix instead of making it from chai tea. Disappointing from a place that demands premium pricing. I ordered a chai tea instead and the water was so hot I had to order ice. I was with a little kid who also got a chai and disappointed they didn't offer that to him and instead gave me what I consider scalding hot water in a cup with a tea bag. Staff was friendly. I went to Unlikely Story in Plainville and got a chai latte made from real tea with almond milk under $6 last week. So again the prices at this Bakery are premium. I am willing to pay for premium if that is what I am getting and while the first time I got a latte it was tasty but I still am disappointed at the price point. The second time I went I sat at the bar in front of the espresso machine and was grossed out at how dusty the top of the machine is... because they have their to-stay mugs upside down on top of it. There was a layer of dust and there were dust bunnies hanging off it in my direction. There was a bit of dried splattered milk on it too. Basically, they need to clean that and it was not the type of dust that was just there for a week. Got a scone that I wasn't sure was either day old or overcooked either way I needed a sip of tea to get it down and I did not finish it because it just wasn't that great. Pretty sure the scone was over $5. While I want so badly to support a small business like theirs I don't think I will be back until I know they clean the machine more frequently.

Their team has…read moreperfected a system to help couples design their ideal wedding cake, and the experience could not have been smoother. The process begins about three months in advance with a consultation, where you sit down with their talented designers to bring your vision to life. From that meeting, you're presented with several different flavors to sample. Pro Tip: have a few helpers ready at home when you receive the samples--you get more than enough for two people! For our wedding, we chose a Boston Cream Pie and strawberry combination, and it was absolutely delightful. Not only was the flavor incredible, but the design perfectly matched our cultural theme. The decorations were placed with precision, and it was clear that the team took the time to understand exactly what we wanted. One highlight was the "topper piece", which is cream-based and made for a perfect treat the day after our wedding. While many couples save their cake for their one-year anniversary, ours was simply too good to wait. By the third day after our wedding, the cake was gone--leaving us only with the tasteful memory of how special it was. If you are working with The Lenox Hotel, you'll benefit from their partnership with Dessert Works. And if you're not tied to a specific venue, but have the option to choose your own cake vendor, I can't recommend Dessert Works enough. They will make your wedding day both delightful and delicious!
