This was one of the most unprofessional dealership experiences I've ever had. Only I wasn't moving to a different state and on a time crunch ! After agreeing on a price, the MSRP/vehicle pricing was changed during the final paperwork process, which felt like a clear bait-and-switch tactic. I was on a time crunch and trusted the numbers we already agreed on, but the final deal did not reflect what was originally discussed. After the purchase, the customer service completely disappeared. I was ignored after signing, and it took two full days just to receive my paperwork. When I asked basic questions about vehicle features, the response I received was essentially "take it to service, I don't know." The only follow-up communication I received was a message asking me to complete the survey with all 5 stars, instead of addressing the issues or providing support. This dealership seems more focused on pushing sales and protecting their survey scores than providing honest service or transparency. I strongly recommend that buyers review every line of the contract carefully and be cautious of last-minute changes. Buyers beware. read more

I came here to get a Ford recall issue repaired so there was no charge. I called them to schedule the appointment and we picked a date/Tim when they'd have the part in. I asked for a free loaner since not my fault Ford did a shoddy job and needed to recall the car. When the date came I was able to easily drop it off and pick up my loaner car. They texted me updates about my car and it was ready on schedule. I was able to drop off the loaner car and get my car without and hassle. No charge of course since it's a recall issue so not sure on their prices but I'll come back here again if I ever have to deal with another recall issue. read more

This review is all about rudeness towards customers at the Cashier's Office. Took SUV to service department on Jan.13, 2025 for recall, state inspection, and routine service. Service writer's were efficient and kept me informed by phone and text. All good there. Recall not completed due to a broken tool on back order. It happens, I get it. Service person said they'd call me to reschedule. Waited 45 minutes in customer lounge waiting to shuttle ride home. After 45 minutes I quietly left, and took an Uber home. They had obviously forgotten about me. (Cost $13.94 including tip.) Upon receiving a text my SUV was ready, I arrive at dealership about 10-15 minutes later. The cashier's office has two service windows. The clerk at the left window was engaged with a customer in what appeared to be a rental / loaner transaction. The clerk at the right window was doing data entry on her computer. After waiting about 15-20minutes lady on the left was still engaged with the rental-loaner. The lady on the right was still doing the same data entry. I was standing right there, and she could have offered to assist me. She did not. I did walk over to the General Manager's Office, but he was not in his office so I returned to the cashier's office and continued to wait. When I inquired to the clerk on the right, could she take my $20. for the inspection, and hand me my receipt. Clerk on right immediately explodes in an angry tirade. She opened with "Don't start on me". I reminded her that as a customer, I also have expectations of a certain level of respect, and not to be unnecessarily delayed or disrespected. The clerk on the right continued to rant, but did get my receipt and took the $20 cash for the inspection. It took the clerk on the right about 1 minute to complete the transaction. (Pulled receipt from wire basket, stamped paid, took cash.) I've been a client at that dealership for over 40 years, well before it became Malloy. Since I have a prepaid long term contract with Ford Motor Company for service, I expect I'll have to go there for service. I'll be reaching out to the GM to see if I can pay, and get my receipt from him, or the service manager. At a minimum they should have video and audio recording at the cashier's windows. It would increase productivity, and cashier's act nicer when they know their customer interactions are being recorded. It is also irrefutable evidence in personnel actions for misconduct. read more

They charged me over $1k for a repair and within days it wasn't working. If they had properly checked it out then it would have passed all the tests after the repair . It seems like they knew of the problem but they wanted me to come back so I could pay the $230 diagnostic fee again and pay for the labor again. Warning: the moment you start feeling miserable or your instinct triggers an "ick" feeling, walk away from Malloy Ford Alexandria. The experience doesn't get better. They frown upon questions, so Google is a much kinder (and accurate) place to learn about the new vehicle. Of course, the salesmen (yes, "men" -- not a woman in sight, but I don't blame them for not wanting to be in that environment) were friendly and helpful because they are the first contact and trained to lure in customers. I, actually, feel sorry for them because the finance team/managers ruin all the hard work and time that salesmen invest in the customers. My response is not from a one-time experience. I have been inside the store 4 times, had about 5 phone conversations, and dozens of emails. They are consistently problematic. MAIN EXPERIENCE #1 Bought a Mach E in May 2024 and was shocked by how the finance/managers spoke to me. I was physically sickened by the stressful experience, so I had to leave for 30 minutes and a different manager finished the sale. I sucked it up because I was only in town for 2 days and needed the new car for my daughter's college graduation gift. MAIN EXPERIENCE#2 When I was back in town on October 26, I returned to buy another car for family because it is the only dealership I know in VA and I repressed the memories of the first horrible experience. I walked in with cash in pocket, research done, and ready to buy.We took a test ride and knew it was a car we wanted, so we drove down the street to fill out the application within an hour of leaving. No response. Waited. Emailed. Nothing for 2 weeks. I had to re-reach out to a different salesman, whom I worked with on the Mach -E. He did all the sales prep work, but the finance/managers thwarted the sale again with their short-sighted, "don't ask questions" attitude. And, they couldn't invest in a $40 FED EX envelope to speed up the sale. "Pennywise, pound foolish" should be the new Malloy tagline. They make you feel like you have to beg to get them to take your money. Three weeks later and I still have money to spend and a need for a new FORD. Any non-Malloy Ford dealers want to take my money? We were in the market for a Ford Ranger Raptor and noticed that Malloy Ford of Alexandria had two available--one black and one blue. I reached out to the dealership, inquired about the trucks, and scheduled a test drive for Monday, October 14th, which was confirmed. I also completed the Ford pre-qualification and sent it to the salesperson, Kelvin, via text. Kelvin and I exchanged several messages, during which he confirmed my appointment for the 14th. He informed me that the blue Ranger Raptor was in an off-site lot, but the black truck was available on the showroom floor. On the day of the appointment, I made the drive from Fredericksburg and texted Kelvin upon arrival. He told me to come inside, where I saw the black truck on the showroom floor. When I asked about the test drive, which had been confirmed, Kelvin apologized and explained that management wasn't allowing test drives without a signed contract. I reiterated that I was there specifically to test drive the vehicle. I didn't need to see the exterior again--what I needed was to drive it. Despite this, Kelvin insisted that management's policy required a signed contract before allowing a test drive. My issue is, why confirm a test drive only to have me drive all the way there, then refuse it? It felt like a sleazy sales tactic--a bait-and-switch just to get people in the door. There was plenty of time, at least a day in advance, for Kelvin to inform me that management required a signed contract for a test drive. In that case, I would have declined the visit outright. I'm not signing anything without knowing how the vehicle drives first. Although I didn't cause a scene at the dealership, I was disappointed in how they treated potential customers. After returning home on Monday, October 14th, I remained interested and texted Kelvin about an error I noticed on the draft invoice--both the vehicle sticker ($1600) and the dealer's invoice ($1900) included charges for freight and delivery. Kelvin said he would look into it and get back to me. Five days later, I still hadn't heard from him. Needless to say, we didn't purchase our new Ranger Raptor from this dealership. This has been the worst experience; if I could rate them zero stars, I would. I purchased a car on the 4th to turn around and return it for service on the 8th. By the 24th, I was back for service again and they quoted me to pay $640 for parts and labor. I was furious because the period was still within 30 days and still under warranty. During my visit, they wouldn't provide me with a copy of all signed documents. After asking multiple times, Jake attempted to give me paperwork he printed off right in front of me but not in the file. I requested it from the new salesperson, Derrick, because the salesperson who completed my paperwork was no longer with the company. Instead of Jake showing empathy or an effective way to get my concerns addressed, they just sat at the front desk laughing and joking among themselves. I recommend you all be very cautious when dealing with Mallory Ford Alexandria. I advise you to thoroughly test drive cars as long as needed, research any vehicle's history independently make sure you are provided with all your signed documents. My 2021 Ford F150, super crew hybrid wouldn't start and was to be towed to the dealer Malloy Ford in Alexandria, Virginia. They gave me an estimate for the repair, when the truck is still under warranty. Three weeks later it is still not fixed. I was initially told the batteries needed repairs. The estimated repair date has been getting delayed since the car was towed there on August 11, because they didn't have the parts. Two weeks passed and I was told no one at Malloy has been trained on repairing hybrid battery issues. Unbelievable! They are now communicating via EMAIL with the specialist at Ford Headquarters to get instructions on the repairs needed. I talked to the service manager a few days ago, he didn't even know that the crew was having trouble getting the hybrid battery fixed! He left the office and never came got back to me. BEWARE! Criminal approach to selling cars. Spent a day texting about a specific vehicle listed for $21,900. Settled on a price of $23,500 after being crystal clear on what was and was not included. So I go in to buy. Jonathan B was nice enough and then the dandy appears dressed in a fancy suit and informs the offer was unauthorized. And so on, ie a fake dispute between the two. I was there for five hours and finally paid $1500 more than I planned to because I was simply exhausted. I had a physical check from my credit union to pay for the car yet they ran an unauthorized hard pull on my credit and then the finance guy claimed he knew nothing and thought I needed financing and gave me a hard sell on dealership financing.I got an email from a credit bureau that my credit score had declined because of this. I've spent three days asking them to reverse that hard pull and just keep getting the run around. Still not resolved. Don't believe any response they might make to this review. It's all BS. Few months ago my father & I viewed a convertible Mustang here, worked with a guy named Freddie & he himself was nice & super energetic (as all car salesmen should be). The reason we came here was because they had a greatly priced 2011 V6 silver convertible Mustang (60K miles on it; which was great) I wanted that I saw online. The sticker price was ~14K & so I contacted them to set up an appointment in-person that next day for the price I saw online, which they confirmed was exactly what the vehicle was priced. Once viewing the car in-person HOWEVER the sticker price was NOT what was online, it was now priced at 19,999, which was an entire near 5K higher than sticker price online. When noting this to Freddie, he said "oh no don't worry... our mistake, our mistake." We went forth and test drove it with no problems at all in regards to feel of the car. However there was leather damage to the seats, The middle console was coming apart partially & the rear view mirror in the car was completely sun damaged, you could barely see anything out of it. Once getting back inside Freddie had me sit down & my father & I noted the concerns with the sticker price being different than what was online when we found the car yesterday, and with the interior damage of the vehicle. Freddie went to the front of the store & came back with the new sticker price of car before the extra charges of the standard store fees & what not.... The new price was what the Ford here called their "Customer discount" due to the problems we noted with the rear view mirror, seats, and middle console.... They only moved it down about 2K, and still neglected to acknowledge the online price (which again was nearly 5K less than the 19,999 sticker price that was on the car). We sat there for a few hours going over paperwork, but the more we continued the more I just didn't get good vibes here... Freddie continuously wanted to work a deal out (as all car salesmen of course) & I let him keep talking to us but when it came to agree on a deal I declined it, as they ultimately neglected to acknowledge the online price & even with the damage to the interior they barely went down in price for us. Of course covid has made the whole car industry go into a shortage of a bunch of things & they are going through hard times HOWEVER no excuse to be lying about your sticker prices online & bamboolizing customers into driving all the way to you just to NOT acknowledge the prices you have online. Having experience with tons of different dealerships, I have NEVER experienced one that lies about their online vs in-person sticker prices of their vehicles. Thankfully went elsewhere for my V6 convertible Mustang & ended up finding an even better deal than what would've been here. Got a fun 2005 V6 Mustang to cruise around in, at under 10K sale price, 32K miles on it, no accidents, no damage, and 1 prior owner. It's been quite a few months since this experience but the car I've found after coming here has been better than ever & mainly warning those that are interested in coming here to triple check & verify that their online price is ACTUALLY what is there on the car. read more

Purchased a new $60k SUV from them in October and it was a nightmare. Car had multiple cosmetic defects that still haven't been addressed (they blame the Ford warranty process), and you absolutely cannot trust the a-holes in the finance department. They lie and misrepresent with regards to so many things - don't trust a word they say. For instance, they recorded my car's in service date a full six days before I even signed the paperwork and took delivery, and refused to fix the error when I pointed it out (yes, I should have walked). And they repeatedly lied about the price of a basic maintenance package. The finance office is clearly where they are making their money, so be prepared for it. I would never, ever, buy another car from them. And don't buy their seriously overpriced, non Ford extended warranty - you can get a real Ford extended warranty for half the price directly from ford dealers like Flood and several others. read more

Very dishonest dealership, AVOID AT ALL COST. It took them an hour to discover a crack in one headlight (they might have done it) on my 2020 Chevy truck in the trade in, and then they charged me $2500 to fix it even though it will take them about $300($100 part and $200 labor) for them to fix it. Even any Chevy dealership will not cost that much. They also gave me the bull shit about if I fix it myself(one headlight for GOD sake) it will decrease the value of my truck. How many of their 2020 used vehicles all have original equipment? None. They might have after market batteries, windshields, tires and wheels... They also charged $899 processing fees (junk fees), according to Car and Driver, the average fees in VA is $490. Dealer's Business License $64.23. Luckily they did not charge parking fees, utilities fees, employees' salaries contribution, year end bonuses etc. Again avoid this place at all cost unless you want to be ripped off. For the viewers, ask yourself are $900 for processing fees and $64.23 junk fees excessive? Is $2500 to replace one, I repeat one, headlight on a 2020 Chevy Colorado excessive? SERVICE: Setup a diagnostic test for my vehicle for a check engine light for 7am Monday 12/23 and when I arrived I was told that no one would be in til 9am to do diagnostic testing which takes 1.5-2 hours. This was pretty frustrating considering this would be 4 hours of my day waiting unnecessarily. I ended up renting a car from Enterprise for $94 - yea, ridiculously expensive since I had to get somewhere by lunch time which now didn't seem possible. Definitely not happy about being scheduled incorrectly. Worked with Sami who was able to work with my extended warranty to get the repairs covered. Since this error was related to the turbo an adjuster needed to come out to inspect the vehicle. Due to the holidays, waiting for approval and ordering parts, I was finally able to pickup my vehicle 12/31. I appreciated the proactive communication from her throughout my repair process. SELLING MY CAR: Initially I worked with Roger on selling my Ford Escape who strongly suggested the diagnostic test and repair. Then I worked with the general sales manager Ankush to sell my vehicle. Communication wasn't great from the used car sales side of things, I had to stay on it and be very proactive by reaching out often. I was able to negotiate the pricing on selling the vehicle, came in on 1/2 and sold it. The process took only 30 minutes with minimal paperwork. I received notification from my bank that the car loan was paid in full which was received 3 business days later. Overall happy with my experience with Jerry's Ford. If I was looking to purchase a vehicle in the future I would say that proactive communication from them would be an absolute must in order to move forward. read more

Enough to make we want to drive from out of town to see car in person. Dealership was extremely organized and clean, and I could see the other customers were also getting attention. No customer seemed to be just hanging around and not being greated, the staff were always attentive to all guests. After fairly quick negotiations, it was time for some paperwork. Mary and Raz (sp?) The plug-in battery of my Ford C-Max Energi stopped charging. I took the car to Malloy Ford putting the charger on the front seat for them to test. They tested the charging port and found a "code" so they replaced the whole port for $962 and told me to come pick up my car. No change - the plug-in battery would still not charge. I bought a $175 charger online which solved the problem. I went back to Malloy Ford to discuss this issue, but the manager would not talk to me. I called Malloy Ford but the manager never returned my call. I was given a national Ford phone number to call to see what might be done, but they told me that I had to resolve it directly with the Malloy Ford dealership, that they couldn't help. I called VISA credit card to dispute the charge. They said I needed a "second opinion" to support my claims. I paid a reputable car repair shop to do this. They made a video showing the voltage generated by the old charger (0 volts) and the new charger (normal charge) and provided this to VISA. VISA did not accept this as a valid "second opinion" and charged me anyway. It was obvious from the beginning that the charger was the likely issue. Malloy Ford apparently did not test the charger up front, nor did Malloy Ford test it before returning the car back to me unrepaired. If I handed a 10 year old child a cell phone and said the phone's battery doesn't charge, my guess is that most children would ask me if the charger is working. I'll bet none of them would say "let's replace the port on the side of the cell phone". Malloy Ford got their $962, but they'll never get my business again. read more
