Obviously the outside is traditional to the moon but once you go in it is a mix of character and new age bliss. They only have one happy hour special at the moment which is a beer, a burger and a shot for $10 which can't be leaked. Unfortunately I wasn't opting for the burger but I was able to get a beer and add a $2 shot to get the most bang for my buck. The tap collection is a great mix. It's one of the few places that has a a selection of local New York Piers, including harp lager, but then you always have your traditional Sam Adams, which this time was a winter white air and of course PBR. The beers come in 10 oz mugs which is an interesting size. They range from $5 to $8 at this moment. And the well liquor is not the type that will give you a headache unless you're just drinking it in excess. When I came there was no one there but it was a slow Monday. Either way the service was great. The music mix was fun and very diverse as well as they have three TVs that you can adjust. Pool tables, arcade game. Retro lounge chairs with a cute custom table. I'm a sucker for a bar where I can go by myself until the home and this one did the trick. Prices are reasonable but I miss the $3 beer days lol Since I didn't get the food and I do think the price is a bit high for the area and giving it four stars. But honestly for what it is I would pay a dollar extra for a beer here versus some other places.

O'Hara's fills that role for me. Can't really ask for more as the drink selection is pretty solid. Good variety of local beers too. Plenty of screens to enjoy something you'd like. Bartenders are pretty responsive too. You can get quick service here. Prices are also quite reasonable, at least based on what I think.

This place is dangerously additive and has something on the menu for everyone. For starters I tried their chicken egg rolls, which were crispy, tasty and left me wanting more. This place has THE best chicken Caesar wrap I've ever had!!! Deliciously cooked, crunchy chicken topped with fresh lettuce, creamy Caesar dressing, bundled up in a thin wrap. As I'm typing this, my inner foodie is plotting an hour-long pilgrimage to Jersey City......because yes, it really was THAT good. My date ordered the rigatoni special and he's still talking about it. If you're not sure what you're looking for but want a yummy bite, on point service and a lively atmosphere where you feel like family, this is your place. Thank me later :)

I enjoyed sitting near the window to get a glimmer of sunlight while responding to emails. Happy hour deals are not too bad either, though I didn't bother with any food. But definitely a lot of character and fun vibes to this place. I recommend residents, tourists, etc. to at least stop by for a drink.

But this year, a dark stain on that otherwise vibrant experience came from Lucky 7 bar itself. Let's be clear -- this wasn't just a case of being busy or understaffed. This was blatant, willful ignoring of anyone who didn't fit a very specific mold. Myself and several others waited patiently (and obviously) at the bar, cash in hand, only to be passed over again and again while bartenders prioritized regulars, deep-pocketed bros, and the kind of performative hipsters who drink PBRs out of obligation like their hot topic t-shirt to a punk band way beyond their years. What's worse: there was no acknowledgment, no "we'll be right with you," not even a glance. Just a pointed refusal to serve anyone who didn't register as familiar, flashy, or fashionable. Or, who knows what reason. We gave up after 15 minutes. Luckys is a great a dive bar that's lived through the different incantations of the JCs arts scene but the bartenders working during the festival this year, particularly the woman, worked with a particular set of blinders that you had to bow down to. Looking forward to next year but hopefully with better service inside the bar.
