Outstanding service and super nice guys. I was looking at a friend's van for a possible camper van project. Though the price was low, I wanted to have someone inspected the underbelly so the project wouldn't have any unexpected surprises. After a thorough research on Yelp. I chose these guys. Lucky me. Turns out they know a lot of folks that my fiends and I know. We are one big family. I explained the situation and told them that my friends were great people and wanted to do the right thing. Sadly, the inspection revealed some surprises that were more than I wanted to take on. My friends swung by and were treated with first class service. I brought my car in to repair the inner wheel well fenders after I noticed some wheel rub. Turns out there was extensive damage to the undercarriage cause by the delivery from the dealership. They took the time to show me everything that was wrong with the car and how it could have happened. At no point did I feel forced to go through them for the repairs, they recommended I get the dealership to handle it for me. They even returned the parts I didn't need and referred me to a body shop. They went above and beyond at every step and I will be using them as my go to mechanic from now on! read more

I ended up having a flat tire while on the road and pulled over to check it out. I was struggling with getting the lug nuts off because they were so tight. I walked over to Malik Motors and asked them if they would be able to loosen them up for me. The technician was so nice and had be drive the car right over so he could take a look. I pulled up and he inspected my tires which turned out to have a hole in two of them. He let me know that the tires were repairable and he could do it for me right then and have me back on the road quickly. He repaired my two tires and checked the pressure on my other two tires as well as my spare tire. The whole thing took about 15 minutes max and cost a fraction of what I was expecting it to. My review is about 5 years late, but Barry's knowledge and service bought us the time needed to find a new car for my wife. In 2000 she bought the car of her dreams, loving that car to the extent of joking that she wanted to be buried in it. The car didn't love her back. That particular model year turned out to be a lemon all around, and after the warranty ran out we spent thousands of dollars getting poorly done repairs. Most mechanics seemed to just not have a clue. Barry correctly identified what had been going on all those years, and, when we said my wife had finally accepted that she needed to replace the car, proposed an inexpensive fix that got us through the next six months until she found her new car. We are grateful for his careful analysis and explanation of the pros and cons of our options, and for a fix that lasted longer than he had advised us it would. read more

This is one of those shops you walk in, and if gullible enough walk out with a turbo kit installed on your moms soccer van. I simply called to ask how much is an alignment. A young women by the name of daisy responded with "hold on"... 5 minutes later I hang up, as she never came back to the line and I wasn't about to waste my cell phone minute plan with her. I call back 15 minutes after hoping she would have gotten a price and I am greeted with a man. I tell him I called earlier looking for a price. He says "yes, she was at lunch." What ensues from this moment is the shadiest mechanical practice I've seen. He asked for the make and model of the car, tells me twice if I am sure it is the alignment. I tell him pretty sure. He responds with "no, most of the time it's a bad tie rod, axle problem, bushings, pinion. You might think it's the alignment but it is something else. You must've hit something hard because alignments are only done to cars who mess something up." The psychic car mechanic just analyzed my car and it's problems over the phone! Fantastic! :( What ever happened to a simple "bring the car over and let's have a look at it" or just giving me what I requested, an alignment price? They must seriously reap the rewards of having UM students who are mechanically deficient. As someone whose mechanicalIy savvy I played naive to see how he would treat me(I just changed the wheel bearings and disc brakes/pads on another of my cars less then a month ago) point is, I know when their is damage to the cars steering. And he was practically taking out the Vaseline bottle to royally screw me for a nice pay day. Pass on this place. Oh and I did manage to get the price. 85 for two tires, 125 for all four. read more

(Update to previous review). I had a weird knocking/scraping sound coming from underneath my car on the driver's side, which made me nervous, especially since I do a lot of driving on I-95. So I brought it in to Barry. He went through my car literally section by section until he found the problem. He would not let me have it back until he was satisfied that he had fixed it. He called me before he began work to let me know how much it would cost. He called me with updates. He came in under the estimate. He checked my tires and found one that was dangerously close to blowing as it had a bubble on it, and as I knew they were nearing the end of their useful and safe life, I had two new tires put on the front. He saved the bad tire so that I could see what he had found, and, wow, was I lucky it didn't cause me to have a really bad accident on the freeway. I will never bring my car to anyone else because I know that not many other automotive shops would have checked EVERYTHING on my car for efficiency, wear and safety, without even being asked to. I was very happy with the service I received at Malik motors. I had received a quote for $3600 worth of repairs at another place, and immediately panicked. I realized quickly I was about to get hustled, and decided to quickly abort my current plan. I got on yelp and found Malik motors, and once again my fellow yelpers led me in the right direction. I took my car to Malik, and even though Barry had a full garage he took the time to talk to me and explain exactly what he was going to do based on my report of what was going on with my car. It was 4pm and got me a quote by 10am the next morning. I gave him the go ahead and he was done by 4:30. I went to go pick it up, he thoroughly explained what he did and physically showed me what he repaired. Very happy I found this shop to service my Corvette. I filled out an online request for an appointment. Inside of a few hours Barry Malik called me on the phone and firmed up the appointment. My first time there. needed a n oil and filter change, , wanted to get a complete checkup. also had a strange sound coming from front end while turning right. My experience at Malik Motors was excellent. I went in for a minor issue w my vehicle and a battery change. Service was quick, and Barry and his employees were straightforward and pleasant. As a 20 something woman in a yoga t shirt holding an iced latte, I realize I was a prime target for being swindled at a mechanics shop-- however I did not feel like I was being talked down to or taken advantage of. This place gave me a great first impression over the phone, and though I had to call a couple of times to check on availability of parts, I got straight -and what seemed- honest answers. Took my '95 Corvette in a couple months ago on a recommendation. The original coolant hoses had finally seen their day. Barry and Paul (?) were able to quickly diagnose the problem. I asked them to check for any other repair and maintenance issues. Within a few days, I had a fully filled and functional coolant system, and new suspension, which was desperately needed. The car has been running perfectly ever since. I was impressed with the analytics of the wheel alignment readout...never seen that before. I've been to Malik's twice and I'll be back as long as I live anywhere near Miami. The first time was to replace my radiator and the second was to get 3 or 4 small repairs, as well as a general assessment of my car. When I got to Malik's the second time, we had a conversation about what I wanted done and how I wanted it done. Essentially, I asked him specifically to make sure the major issues (AC, lock mechanisms) could be addressed for a certain budget. Otherwise he was to skip the rest of the repair. This wasn't a problem. Malik has no issue discussing the repair with you. He won't fix anything that you aren't asking for and even though I know nothing about my car, he takes my intentions and budget into consideration throughout the entire process. Oh and he's fast. When I dropped off my car on the second visit his entire garage was full. Like 6 lifts all had cars on them. The entire garage was bumper to bumper with cars. He mentioned it would take 2 days to get my repairs done; no problem for me I don't drive to work or anything. He called about 5 hours later to let me know my car was ready for pick up. He also informed me about everything that my car could also use (it's an old old old old car) and quoted me prices. Of the two major issues that I has asked him to fix, he had solved both. In fact, regarding the lock mechanisms, he figured out a cheaper way to get them working. Originally he had warned that the issue warranted disassembling my car doors and fully replacing the lock motors. Instead he found a second solution that cost about 1/3 of the aforementioned fix. I had to create an account on Yelp just so I could review Malik Motors. Finding a mechanic is never easy, and Lord knows I've had my struggle tracking one down. I had some slight damage to the back of my car due to a hit and run. It was a small scratch on my quarter panel and some very minor paint transfer on my bumper. I brought it to three shops before I finally found Barry at Malik Motors. The first quote I received was $900 at a place in palm beach county. The second was $1200 at a self-proclaimed "affordable body shop." The third was $530 at the dealership, yes, the dealership. Then I came to Malik Motors because I saw all the raving reviews, and they were right! Barry charged me a measly $123 and changed my oil as well as buffed out some additional scratches. That's $400 less than anything else I was quoted while including an oil change and additional work. Barry's the man. If you want a mechanic, and you found this page, then you found your mechanic. I live in Homestead, so Malik Motors is 28 miles from my house. I drive a 2008 Corvette, and the check engine light came on. After a previous 'bad' experience at a Chevy dealer that shall remain nameless, I wanted to bring my Corvette to a place that knew what they were doing. Malik Motors was referred to me by a friend in my Corvette club. Barry Malik has a 2006 Corvette, and his business caters to Corvette owners. Malik Motors works on all brands of cars and trucks, but they really know Corvettes. I spoke with Barry and Paul the General Manager to explain the problem. While I went for coffee, Les the technician fixed my car in about 1 hour at a very reasonable cost. Les also evaluated my car's condition, and made suggestions on additional work for me to consider in the future. I requested that they do a wheel alignment on their 'state of the art' Hunter equipment while I was there. That also came out perfect! Next time I need an oil change, or any other repair, I am going back to Malik Motors! I appreciate the service, the honest assessment of the car, and reasonable pricing that they offer. I found Barry's shop while looking for a reliable mechanic after my car overheated. He was was rated Miami New Times' 2009 auto mechanic of the year, and I'm glad to see that not much has changed in those 2 years. I had my thermostat changed and my car up and running within the day. I was so impressed with the way he handled everything, that I decided to have my AC fixed and my tires changed. Mind you, I have a brother in law with a tire shop and while I could've gone to him and saved some money, I decided I'd rather give Malik Motors the work. My car started having problems as soon as I moved to Miami. Not sure of where to go, I decided to go the nearest Firestone to get it checked out. That was the worst idea ever as the Firestone charged me over $700 dollars over two separate trips to the body shop. Even after that, my car broke down one night in the parking garage. I looked up several body shops in the area and saw good reviews for Malik Motors so I called Barry Malik, the owner and told him the whole story. He helped to arrange a tow truck to tow my car to his shop. He was very professional and helpful through the whole process. He's also very honest about what your car actually needs and will not rip you off. The Firestone said that I had an oil leak in my oil pan and would need $245 to fix it. Barry told me that my oil pan was fine and the oil leak was residual drips from a previous leak. He also did a full check up on my car. I would DEFINITELY RECOMMEND Barry because I know that he's honest, professional, and good at his job. Don't get ripped off by other body shops, just go to Malik Motors. read more

We drove to Miami from CT almost a year ago and as we pulled into our apartment for the first time, the windshield washer fluid completely emptied into the parking lot. We went to Malik's based on his good reviews. He changed the oil and took apart the car to get to the leaky tank. The charge was minimal. He also told us the head gasket (?) had a minor leak but that it could wait. We were ready to plop down $$, but he said it really wasn't necessary at this time. First time I've had a mechanic turn down a repair job--- Barry is an incredibly honest mechanic! He's always busy, yet always makes time for us and gets things done promptly. We're moving back home next month and wish we could take him with us! Both cars are getting one last check-up before we leave. read more

I just moved to Miami and my car broke down within the first week here. I went to Malik Motors specifically because of the positive reviews listed. The owner is a nice guy and was generally helpful, but unfortunately he hasn't stood behind the work in his shop. Two tows and three days and I'm still waiting for my car. I just can't do business with his establishment in the future. The first time my car died, it was towed to Malik Motors to help fix a starting problem. The belts were tightened and battery cables changed; I drove my car out of the shop the next day. After I stopped at a store, the car wouldn't start and the original problem occurred. I asked the owner to send a tow so they could fix the car, but it was towards the end of the day and he didn't want to wait for the car so it was left in the store parking lot overnight. The next day it was towed and the original problem was finally diagnosed: a bad starter. Why that was not inspected the first time is unusual but most disappointing is I must pay for the second tow. When a mechanic tells me the car is fixed and I drive it away, I assume it is fixed. When the same problem returns and the car must be towed back to the mechanic that assured me the car was in good shape, I think the mechanic should stand behind his work, pay for the tow, and correct the problem. As I await the repairs, additional service charges are accumulating and the tow fare is being passed along to me. It's disappointing because I was hoping to be a repeat customer but simply can't return to this business. Times are tough for everybody but honesty and integrity are still important. Hopefully the repairs last, otherwise I'll have to pay for yet another tow and more service fees. read more

I still can't say enough good things about Malik Motors. Recently, I decided it was time to replace my old car and bought a "certified pre-owned" Honda. The next day, I noticed rust on the sunroof and water stains on the rear ceiling. Feeling a little panicked and not trusting the Honda dealership at this point, I brought my car into Malik Motors and Barry took a look at it for no charge. He confirmed that the car was in unacceptable condition for a certified pre-owned vehicle, told me what he thought the issues were, and advised me to drive straight back to the dealership (which I did, right after Barry jumped the car's battery when it refused to start). After initially attempting to convince me that the problems were minor, the dealership ultimately agreed that the car was not up to the standards of a certified pre-owned vehicle and agreed to fix the issues. Still not trusting the dealership, I took my car back to Malik Motors so that Barry could double check their repairs and also perform a general inspection to make sure there weren't other hidden problems lurking anywhere. Thank goodness the car checked out fine, but I wish I had taken it for an inspection before I bought it to avoid these types of nasty surprises. The price for the inspection was totally reasonable and worth the peace of mind it gave me about a car that I plan to own for many years. I never would've thought I needed to have an inspection performed on a two-year-old certified pre-owned car with only 15,000 miles on it, but obviously I've learned my lesson. If I ever buy another used car (certified pre-owned or not), I'm having it checked out first out instead of just trusting luck or the "honesty" of the dealership. read more

Outstanding, honest, professional service. I took my 2008 Toyota Tacoma to Malik's when my A/C stopped working after making a terrible squealing sound under the hood. The compressor seized up and destroyed itself, major problem. I have always gone to Toyota dealerships for service but have never been impressed. After hearing good things about Malik's I gave them a try and I couldn't be happier. Barry the owner was extremely attentive to my problems, he also did a full inspection of my vehicle and found many things that previous Toyota dealership service inspection missed. I am a guy that follows the Tacoma service book that comes with the truck, have the dealership check every box, stamp with their logo, and save every service receipt...the dealerships were not doing their job with integrity. Barry used all high quality, brand new Denso parts specifically made for Toyota. Cost of service was very reasonable and the quality and attention to detail was extremely impressive. Each time he called me, walked me through what the problems were and explained the options available to me. The repairs have been flawless and have come in at or below his estimates. Most recently I had air conditioning problems. Based on my description of the problem he narrowed it down to two possibilities. Eliminating the first possibility took him several hours. After he explained to me the cost of fixing the second, I decided to hold off on the repair for now. Barry did not want to charge me for the time he spent searching for the problem - I had to press him to take something and even then, he only charged me for one hour.
