I called Malibu Pools to see if they could help me quickly because I was worried the pool could get a lot worse. They came out and added the necessary chemicals; upon closer inspection, they recommended an acid wash to mitigate more damage and problems in the future. I'm SO glad I took their advice! WOW! I hired Malibu pools for a complete pool renovation and from start of project to finish it took 8 months follow by many problems including pool jets not installed, pool lights not working, water levels not holding and many other issues. Communication and responses were very slow. Upon sale of the property, many deficiencies were found related to the pool. I was not satisfied with service levels overall and cannot recommend this company. My sense is that they have too many jobs than they can handle. read more

Do not hire this company do it yourself will be a better option. We hired Nick and his partner Jayson to do our backyard and it's probably the worst decision we ever made. From start to finish this is the most painful project I have ever done. All they want is your money and all they care about is your money specially when it's the end of the year and they have closed books. Do not spend your time and money in this company, oh and not to mention the POOL SERVICE that they provide, which is horrible and it's very expensive here the pictures for you to see AND BE THE JUDGE. Now pool is missing tiles, no water circulating, the list goes on they had destroyed it themselves by not maintaining it. They don't even care to make it right. read more

I've used Malibu for awhile for water checks and supplies, and so I decided to use them to re-surface my pool, fix a 12" crack, and install a new sand filter/valve assembly. Nick Suarez was the "project manager" for this endeavor. He is a very affable gentleman who for the most part is fairly easy to contact and to ask questions of. The project was able to get started without delay. During the course of 5 days, several different sub-contractors each responded on time to do their part in the completion of the project. I was at home for the duration of the project, and if I had any questions, all workers were able to answer them. When the time came to install the "Diamond Brite" finish, Nick advised me the color I wanted was unavailable, but he actually got me a more expensive finish, bluer in color than the original, but at the same price. For 2 weeks after the work, Malibu personnel responded to the house to check the water and add chemicals as necessary to complete the curing of the finish. Fast forward 5 months, and I can report that the finish has cured nicely and looks great, and the pool has no leakage. Malibu's price on the project was in the middle of 3 estimates I had done. Nick offers recognition of veterans and first responders when dealing with customers. Overall, I was happy to use a locally-owned business, and I felt I got a good value for this project. read more

Hired this company to diagnose my pool leak since last year. The kiid they send only told me my leak was somewhere underground by my equipment. That kid left the company and they never told me where my leak was. I kept asking them to tell me and the kept telling me the same thing. Meanwhile they cut up all my equipment pipes to do the pressure test. It took me mo the calling them to teens someone to put my broken equipment pipes back together but into a million pieces. I finally told them I would write reviews and reach out to the BBB bureau and then I was told I needed to pay another leak test band repair a leak in my pool. A year or so later after I kept calling for an answer they said they would do another leak test if I agreed to do the work with them. I agreed and the owner Ivan came by and pressured tested a few lines with my pool with missing water. The next day, they pressured tested the same lines and told me they leak was by the equipment. They excavated and replaced a portion of a line and told me my leak was fixed. So I hired them to do an acid wash. The day after I filled my pool, I kept leaking. I immediately advised Ivan who was extremely rude to me and made a disparaging remark twice. After that I had to continue to reach out to only be told that my leak was from the main drain which they never mentioned before, bc they asked me to refill my pool after telling me the leak was taken care of. They plugged my main drain but it kept leaking so that was a lie. My water level was feet below the skimmer. They could not find the culprit and despite having warranty they will not honor it. $1500 later I'm still leaking. Do yourselves a favor and steer clear of this lying company. read more

Malibu pools services are always top notch. We get our water tested weekly by them . It's a no nonsense service . They report what needs to be added to the water with simple directions to follow for a crystal clear pool. We have also had them remodel our pool surface and tile around our pool. He emailed me every day to let me know what time they were coming and they were prompt. The staff are fantastic. The workmen are also fantastic and very pleasant. My normal pool guy left me stranded and coincidentally the motor was screeching. I sometimes get extra chlorine from Malibu Pools so I called them on Thursday at 4pm. If you are looking for unprofessional, untimely, rude and no knowledge this is your pool company. I am dealing with permits that were illegally closed and work done improperly after the pool was completed 6 months ago. I've had to pay to have work torn up because of this company. Absolutely the worst service I have ever experienced. When I first hired them they were alright. The pool guy would come on time and service the pool. I then suspected a leak in my pool and asked them to help. They said they will do it. I paid upfront. A week later they told me it was fixed. However, I kept noticing the water level going down. I tried to call and they always said they will get back to me but NEVER did! My water bill was $500. I finally got a hold of Lisette and she told me that the leak was never fixed because the guy just left their company. After few more weeks of mind-numbing, frustrating talks, they came and "fixed" the leak. The pool was a mess. They never cleaned and when I finally got them back they said my pump was broken. I did not believe them since we just replaced the pump a year ago. I got completely fed up with them and told them not to service my pool anymore.I never got a sincere apology or a break on their fees. I don't know how they stay in business but they are absolutely horrendous. read more
