Pool draining initial
Pat M.

*Updated - 8/5/2020 - Ken (owner) has gone out of his way to make things right for us and the pool. The work is now complete and the pool is up and running. While I maintain my original complaint of lack of communication and need for some more training, the actual work done on the pool was good. Make sure you get everything in writing including start dates, total time to complete the job and any questions you might have and perhaps that will help to ensure there are no gaps in communication between staff, office personnel and the customer. ORIGINAL POST; Unfortunately what started out well quickly went downhill. We contacted CP&P to remarcite our pool before putting our house on the market. The estimate portion went easily enough and most of the time they were responsive. We sent our deposit in with a cover letter specifying the exact tile we wanted used. We were told by Brian the TOTAL job ETA was 3-5 days and that they were 4 weeks out to start the job. 2 weeks after they cashed our deposit we check in for scheduling date, it took several days to get a real response because Brian was out of the office for a long weekend. Tuesday of the following week Brian advises that the tile has not been received yet and he can't start without it, we again explain the need for getting this project moving quickly and to please get the demo started while he waits on tile. We learn from the office that Brian had been on vacation in Colorado allegedly on that missing Friday & Monday. Brian says he ordered tile on Friday (while on vacation?). Why he waited so long to order the tile is a huge question (he already had our $). They finally start the job on 7/16 I believe, all they did was stop over, setup a pump to drain the pool and leave. DAYS later they finally start the demo. Around Friday July 17th my partner speaks directly with Brian at our house after getting a call from the office that they want their 2nd installment of $, Brian says they may even finish on Saturday the 18th so my partner PAYS THEM IN FULL since we are in the process of moving and didn't want them waiting on us for $$. SO THEY HAVE 100% OF THEIR REQUEST MONEY. DAYS later we finally see some tile work. DAYS later I'm checking in to see why the pool is not done. Linda in the office says she'll ask Brian to call, 2 hours later, nothing. I track down the phone # for Ken, not realizing he is the owner, who says he'll get ahold of Brian. Brian and I finally get to talk and he says maybe they'll be back at the house in a couple of days they have other work in front of ours to finish. I explain this is unacceptable, I've had people checking on the house regularly, they aren't working there, and there has been NO rain to cause these delays. I call Ken back and yes I was a bit loud and short after being told that no one would have ever told me 3-5 days total job time (I explained that was the reason why we hired them), he says its been raining on/off an that's delayed them and there are other jobs in front of mine and more excuses. Ken did apologize for the delay in ordering tile. I advised Ken that excuses were not acceptable he needed to get his staff to our house and FINISH what he started, noting that we have paid everything asked of us the minute it was requested. I have people checking on the house daily and they all verify lack of work and lack of rain. BAD COMMUNICATION BAD STAFF TRAINING TOO MANY EXCUSES Now here we sit, they have 100% of the requested total funds and we have an unsuable hole in the ground. Ken did say if it sprinkles at all he can't do the work and it could take WEEKS to finish. Ken says that because we have a screened patio he can't tarp the pool to protect from any sprinkles. Ken sarcastically asked me what I wanted, financial reimbursement? I said no I want the job DONE.

I was not disappointed, and he provided me excellent service. He is a young entrepreneur and his future is bright. I would highly recommend him and his company. I have to comment on Eric Z's review: I believe that reviews should be neutral and based on all the facts. I do not believe his was. All his reviews seem to be negative and not constructive. Based on my personal experience with Biscayne Pools, Eric the owner does not only have integrity but a desire to win. Call them with confidence and enjoy your well-serviced pool.

This was up until mid February when my weekly pool service suddenly stopped (NOT for lack of payment) and I was never given a reason why. I called, messaged, texted and NEVER once did I receive a response from their founder. I found that to be very unprofessional after so many years of service. I was very disappointed. My pool turned green after waiting three weeks before choosing another company to come out. They could have at least sent a letter out to customers notifying them of any recent changes or disruption of future service as noted here on Yelp (closed temporarily til Sept 2021).

What frustrated me the most was finding out that the warranty had expired in June -- less than two months earlier. The company only works with Jandy pumps and did not provide me with any other option except replacing the entire pump, which I find unacceptable given the short lifespan. I expected higher-quality equipment and better customer support for a pool that is just over three years old. This experience gives the impression that there is little concern for the customer once the installation is completed.

Communication after this initial review improved. I was getting weekly calls from lady handling permits and even sales rep when needed. I did still have to speak to the engineer at the DERM department on a weekly basis too to make sure that both parties were understanding each other bc the special permit got "denied" 2 times. I do have to say that once pool construction began everything ran really quick and fast. We had a pool before Christmas. From the ground breaking to the finish work I had Pepe and another superintendent come in to supervise the work at least once a week or they will come and prep for the next part. I was also almost at all inspections and spoke to the inspectors as recommended by Pepe. Overall, I do believe that they have to communicate with the clients more often during the permitting process and specially when there are special requirements for a permit due to the property. So far my pool looks beautiful and it hasn't had any problems.
