best locksmith period. They are more knowledgeable than anyone I have used in my 15 years as a property manager. the best part is they arrive when they say they will and when your locked out its great to have someone be reliable. We used them in Malibu and for properties in Santa Monica and Venice they are great ! read more

I needed a lock repaired. They had it fixed in less than a day. They will be my go to Malibu locksmith from now on!

Needed to. Rekey quickly and Malibu Locksmith was responsive and was of great value. We've all heard the scams that certain locksmiths pull. My expectations were far exceed. Bravo Carlos and team! read more

Excellent service and as prompt as prompt can be!! When I called to have our locks changed, to my surprise the locksmith was at our gate in less than 45 minutes! He quickly changed all of our locks in no time, gave us all new sets of keys and was on his way. A++++ read more

I'm unable to address his competency as a locksmith because we didn't get that far. I spoke with Steve on Saturday, describing the work I needed done, my address, where to park and the brand of deadbolt needing replacement. He said he would be here on Monday @ 9:00. By 10:00 on Monday when he hadn't shown up, I called to see where he was. He seemed confused, eventually saying he'd been waiting for me to get back to him after I'd gotten approval from my landlord to get the work done! I've owned my house for many years! Needless to say, I am not interested in anyone this confused/disorganized working on my house. read more

So happy I called and Malibu locksmith answered and came to my Malibu house within 10 minutes, got me inside and changed the lock. What a relief. Thank you for great service! read more

Came the other day within an hour of my call to change locks. Carlos was great, installed a new lock much better then the one I previously had. Thanks! read more

Pros: This guy showed up in 30 min, and was able to pick the lock and do the full job in 15 min. The talent was impressive. Definitely saved me from waiting for 4 hours. Cons: Price. Sometimes businesses think that just because you live in Malibu, you can afford any price because of your location. In all seriousness, Malibu has become cheaper then Santa Monica and most parts of Beverly Hills. $85 cash or $100 card is your option. I didnt think to ask because I thought....hey, its probably like $50 bucks they are right next door. Nope, my mistake. Be advised. read more

Best locksmith in Malibu for decades. Thank you Steve for all your years of help and hard work.

I used this business over a decade ago to install some locks and they were good. They were good this time also, but the guy came a couple of hours earlier than our appt time, which was ok since I happened to be working at home that day. He realigned a strike plate and installed another one for me. He clearly knows what he's doing since he did it in about a half hour. The installation needs a little touch up paint, but it's functioning, so I'm happy about that. My complaint is the price. He charged $98 for the service, which was ok, but he added a $68 trip charge -- and I live about 5 minutes away! read more

I was in a major pinch where someone working at my home was locked in the garage while I was away. Steve answered my frantic call, got there in 10 minutes (said he would be up to 20 minutes), and took care of the situation with the utmost respect, efficiency, and professionalism. I HIGHLY recommend Malibu Locksmith. Also a major plus, Steve is an advocate for animal rescues! Couldn't be happier with this service. read more

Steve and Carlos have helped me many times for work purposes throughout the past few years. Every time I need anything he is quick to respond and has helped me navigate many different lock replacements, emergencies, and also guided me to make good decisions on how to move forward with some products. Take your business somewhere else. I don't even know if they do a good job, but it was the rudest employee I have ever spoken too.

They wanted to charge me $500 to change two locks, which is absolutely outrageous. The cost breakdown showed charging parts for $370 for parts that cost at most $40 dollars. After a long and arduous argument with the owner Steve, who was condescending and couldn't care less, I was able to reach a more reasonable price for the work. I paid $300, which shows he was blatantly charging $200 for nothing. I would not recommend anyone using this service given my experience of being ripped off, and being taken for ignorant. On the upside, Carlos, the service man that came to the house was polite and quick at doing the work. read more

Steve responded quickly and professionally to an emergency call for a forgetful old couple. When they eventually found their key, he did not grumble and even refused payment for his time. He is a true gentleman and has earned my respect and future business. I couldn't recommend Steve more highly. read more
