I had two different cleaners where I could get shirts and pants dry-cleaned or laundered and pressed. Unfortunately, they both closed. I looked around the area and came across Malibu Cleaners. Thus far, I've been delighted with the experience I have had on both of my two visits to Malibu Cleaners so far. While the price is more than I paid at prior cleaners, I am more than willing to pay this price for the service that I've been offered. On my first visit to Malibu Cleaners, I had to get several shirts and pants dry cleaned. I picked everything up the next day in great condition. This was before I realized that I really didn't need everything dry-cleaned. They had Saturday hours, so I dropped off three shirts on Saturday afternoon. They are closed Sunday but two of my shirts were ready on Monday when stated. One wasn't ready until Tuesday but that was due to there being a small stain they couldn't get out without the possibility of damage to the shirt itself. I appreciated them spending an extra day trying to remove the stain. When I stopped by yesterday, I saw someone just in front of me with what looked like a dozen shirts. A second employee saw me waiting before the customer with all of the shirts and immediately stepped up to see how they could assist me. I also appreciated not having to wait long. Malibu Cleaners is considered "the Phoenix Valley's premier, full-service dry cleaner and laundry." You can learn more about them by visiting their website at https://www.malibucleans.com. They are a green cleaners and has a mission that includes providing quality and service to exceed customer expectations. They have set prices for laundered shirts, dry cleaned pants, dry cleaned suit jackets, and wash and fold service by the pound (and more on their website). They are opened weekdays from 7 AM to 6 PM, Saturdays from 9 AM to 4 PM, and closed on Sundays. Closed brought in are typically ready the next day after 4 PM. Upon request, if in before 9 AM, it could be ready the same day by 4 PM at no extra charge (except for Tuesdays and Fridays). WORST PLACE EVER!!! Careless behavior toward my super expensive dress for a very special event. I asked for a simple ironing of my dress and they completely ruin it! Before I handed them this dress I inspected it carefully and I specifically asked them to be careful of the rhinestones and look at the picture of how they treated it. Most of the rhinestones are loose and falling off. After telling them, they completely denied it and would not own up to their mistake. Super disappointed! read more

Well, there appears to be a new owner, however, the trend towards mediocrity continues. My wife dry cleans her business attire here so when we needed our curtains cleaned (for the first time since purchase) she recommended I drop them off. First interaction was very professional and cordial. Young woman took my bag of three drapery panels. Counted the items, read the care for instructions, logged it into their system, charged me $101.25, and said they would be ready in a week. A week passes, I pick them up and over the course of the next few days we re-hang them. To our surprise all three panels are no longer their original length (don't touch the floor and no longer match the other panels in the room). I jumped onto their website in order to send an email and include pictures. No email address provided, however, there was a Contact Us dialogue box available. I shared what occurred and asked that they provide me with an email address so I could include pictures. A week later and no response. I drive back to the store, explain my situation to the two ladies at the front desk. They explain that the owner is new, they don't believe the website is being monitored so most likely no one even knew I sent a message, they didn't know when the owner would be in next but they would pass along my message. I hear back from the owner 5-days later. Rick, the owner, explains that the items aren't in fact shrunk but rather the fabric is tight. He asks that I bring the panels back in to be relaxed. I do so. I bring the panels back home, my wife and I hang them and to our surprise, no visible change in length. I contact the owner again and explain the circumstances (which are unchanged). He tells me he's going to reach out to the sub contractor he sends them out to have done (why???) and follow up. He sends an email with a pdf from the International Fabricare Institute, which is a lobbyist for the dry-cleaners association, indicating that fabrics shrink do to the manufacturers poor manufacturing methods whereas all items are to be pre-shrunk prior to being sold. In Rick's email explaining the Institute's independent / unbiased opinion on such situations, he also includes a note from the third party who actually did the work. The reply includes, "This is not uncommon and an on-going issue with some customers." Hhmm. Reassuring, isn't it. I respond via email to Rick indicating my expectation of 1 of 2 outcomes: 1. Refund me $181.24 so I can replace the damaged 3 panels or 2. Refund me the $101.25, the cost of the service, so I can apply that to the purchase of new panels. This second option is the less desirable of the two but an option nonetheless. Rick replies that he is standing by the pdf and chooses neither option. I am now out $282.49. There are additional avenues available to consumers which I am taking advantage of. I believe the dry-cleaners rating is somewhere south of a 3.5. That's 70% or lower according to my math. If this was golf, he'd be killing it! Unfortunately it's not. I don't see a long successful future for this business. read more

they ruined my clothes, I gave them $100 in advance for several items and they set stains in my clothing, lost two shirts and left any debris on clothing still there. proceeded to launder my dry cleanable clothing tearing holes in wool and destroying fabric. they ruined a $600 jacket and didn't have much to say for themselves. will never use their services again, some of the items couldn't even be pressed by the time they used their laundry machines on them. not a cleaning service at all. maybe they should start a bath house business. read more

I have used Malibu Cleaners since 2003 and experienced several management/owner turnovers over the years. On May 16, 2022, I took a white king size mattress pad to be cleaned which had a few yellow stains and two small droplets of blood. I thought it would be too large to put in my top loading washer and since it was only 6 months old, I decided to take it to the cleaners. I was charged $25. and told I could pick it up on May 18, after 4:00 pm which I did. They sent it out to a 3rd party to be cleaned. When I picked it up, there was a note attached that said: "We are sorry but, we've tried and tried but we find that the stains on this garment cannot be removed without possible injury to the color or fabric. This has been called to your attention so that you will know it has not been overlooked." It didn't look much better than when I brought it in. The yellow stains were a little lighter and the two blood droplets were still there. I decided to try to clean it myself and proceeded to clean the 2 tiny blood droplets with a cotton ball and bleach which came right out, and I managed to push it into my top loading washer with a Tide Pod. Guess what? It came out perfectly white and clean and all the stains and two tiny blood droplets were gone! I was happy, but I feel that Malibu Cleaners sure didn't try too hard. On May 26, 2022, I called and spoke to Rick the owner and he said he would look into it and call me back after Memorial Day. I received a cryptic voice mail from Rick on May 31, 2022, that I could not decipher. I tried several times to call him at the Cleaners only to get a recording, so I decided to take the mattress cover to show him that I got it completely clean and to ask for a refund of $25. since I don't feel they made enough effort to try and clean it and that I did a better job in my washer. Rick had left at noon, but the cashier called him and I spoke to him on the phone. He was very defensive and said I should have given them a second chance to clean it rather than do it myself. I said that their note indicated they tried several times and were sorry but they couldn't get it clean, so why would I think that I could take it back and tell them how to do it? It's pretty sad when I can get it cleaned better than they could! He said they also used a Tide Pod and asked what I wanted him to do? I said I thought they should refund the $25. that I paid for services not rendered to my satisfaction and that the note said they had tried several times to get the stains out and could not. I told him I had been using this cleaners for almost 20 years and that the previous owners/managers were very courteous and customer service oriented and that I was very disappointed by his attitude and lack of customer service and that I would not be using them again; at least while he is the owner/manager which probably won't last long! My advice is to take your business elsewhere as there are plenty of honest, courteous, and customer oriented cleaners in the area! read more

I've been to this location twice with large bags full of clothing each time. The people at the front counter have been professional and kind. When I have picked up my clothing they appear to have been well cared for and properly cleaned. The price is affordable and they get them clean quickly. This last Saturday I admit I stopped by 3 different dry cleaners just because I wanted to see check out their prices and see how quickly they could get my clothes dry cleaned. All 3 seemed reasonably priced but couldn't finish dry cleaning the shirts until 3 days later, a day too late for a sudden trip. This places staff said it would be done in two. They delivered and the clothes look great. I will be returning! read more

Can I give a negative 5? Took my $350 down comforter to be laundered on Tuesday and was told to come back Friday at 4pm. My boyfriend picked up our order and once he brought it home, it WASNT MY DOWN CONFORTER but a cheap polyester quilt.. Went back and the lady at the front gave me another down comforter that was DRYCLEANED.. We thought it MIGHT look like ours and as of late Saturday found a picture of OUR beautiful down comforter and confirmed this horrible thing they gave back to us was in fact NOT OURS. Update: it's been over a week and they still have not found my comforter. I brought back the second wrong one they gave me. I am disabled and spend most of my time in bed. With an approaching surgery I was hoping to have my comforter back. Guess I'll be sleeping on sheets. The manager gave me NO time line to correcting this issue. I hate leaving bad reviews, but I don't understand how a business can not make a horrible,costly mistake without making it right. read more

Can't tell you how many times I've been there at open for a suit or shirt that was the perfect style/color for the day. I procrastinate and Malibu has saved my toosh dozens of times with their early hours. 5 Star Service/Price: the staff is friendly and the young gentleman working at the front is very pleasant. The prices are great considering the added value of their hours etc. They have replaced buttons missing without being asked and more. 4 Star Cleaning: they can do same day, launder and dry clean my shirts well, but they lose a star for their pressing of lapels on my suits. They can do a better job on that. If your office or home is within a couple miles of Malibu - there should be no other place to trust your garments. read more

I recently moved and for the last couple months have been going to this facility. Today will most likely be the last time. I was in a relative hurry to drop off and pick up a couple items and when I drove up there was only one person in line. I placed my items down and waited for a minute and then when finished the young man working behind the counter looked irritated at the amount of clothes I had (perhaps I was bringing too much business to them.) He decided to disregard the fact that I was next in line and proceed to help the person that came behind me while waiting. If I wasn't in a hurry maybe I would offer that, but I was in a hurry. I was confused and waited for a moment and then he couldn't find the lady's order that he decided was more important than mine. So I left, I will return to pick up my things of course, they are my things and I already have paid to have them cleaned, but I will not continue doing business here. I have been using Malibu for several years. Staff are always courteous and I never had an issue until yesterday. I had turned in a sweater I needed for a performance at a Christmas Eve event. It had some fold wrinkles in it and I wanted to get those addressed. I was told it would be ready after 5PM on Friday. Got there at 4:30 and when i was given the sweater, it was folded over the hanger. Knowing i brought it in for wrinkles, i was concerned the folding wouldn't be a good thing. As suspected, when I pulled it off the hanger, the sweater was in worse shape than when i had dropped it off. It was not wearable and they were closed until Tuesday for the Christmas break. I asked if they had a steamer, and the counter person said the person who operated that had left for the day. She then made a phone call and said they would take care of it. I left the sweater and an hour later the person called me again and told me it would be ready on Saturday morning. l just returned from picking it up. It was ready exactly when they said it would be and it was wrinkle free. These customer service professionals took time out of their Christmas Eve, on their day off, when the store was closed, to fix the issue. No business is perfect, it is how they respond when there is a miss that differentiates the good ones from the others. These hard working pros went above and beyond to correct the miss. Didn't argue or make excuses, they owned it and fixed it. They are winners in my book and I will continue to use them and encourage others to do the same. read more

I have to say, much respect to this place for turning down my clothes! Let me explain... I had a dress and top that both had some leather detail that desperately needed some loving in the dry cleaning department. After seeking Yelp for advice, I decided to check this place out (which is now called $2.55 Cleaners). The customer area is pretty small, about three steps deep after walking through the door, but there were three employee taking and/or returning clothes so the turn around is quick and you don't really have a chance for your claustrophobia to kick in. The first employee to help me, took a quick look at my items with a puzzled face, and said something to a second employee that I couldn't hear, but her response was "check the label". The first employee followed the advice, checked the label, and responded, "dry clean only". I immediately felt relief because I was starting to feel like a weirdo that brought a strange animal to the cleaners. The second employee came over, felt the leather, looked at the label again, felt the leather and then said I should bring these items to a "Full Service" dry cleaners because they had more setting options to allow the fabric to be cleaned without damaging the leather. She also informed me that if I were just to let them clean the items the leather *might* get dried out and cracked. I thanked both the employees for not taking advantage of my naiveness, as well as educating me on the art of dry cleaning and learning why they only charge $2.55. The both laughed and employee #2 suggested a full service cleaners for me a little way down the street. I will definitely be back when I have the appropriate clothes that need some lovin'! read more

Even though the guy working out front is a lil youngin, he thoroughly explained their services and prices (which are very affordable) they offer fast service, did a good job on my clothes, and I even got a phone call thanking me for trying their service and gave me a coupon to use for next time.
