Do you remember being a child and hearing the jingle, jingle, jingle of the ice cream truck coming…read morethrough your neighborhood. You ran after the ice cream truck with your coins in hand to pay to get a snow cone (my favorite flavor was the strawberry flavoring), popsicle (the orange dream popsicle was a total dream and the push up orange popsicle was even better), ice cream sandwich or something cold to eat. A bonus would be get a a red, white and blue bullet popsicle and turn your tongue multi-colors. Those were days! As a child, if you heard the faint ringing of the ice cream truck when they were exiting the neighborhood, you ran like Gabby Thomas does today to purchase your sweet treat. I remember that so vividly...such fond memories. Odd Pop is the equivalent of the ice cream truck except they drive straight to your business or event (weddings, gender reveals, birthday parties, and anniversaries). Today, my hubby and I had the pleasure of having three popsicles (lemon Thai basil, strawberry mango and Elderflower Lime) and they were all delicious and so soothing to eat. We really enjoyed that they were fruit based and not eye squinting sweet. Today we had 95 degree weather that feels 150 degrees. It is no doubt that Odd Pop will be doing big business in the Austin area.

It is not super big but it makes great use of the space it has tons of pre loved books, stickers, various gifts, oracle and Tarot cards, witches candles and so much more. SHANA SAYS: Super cute atmosphere, fun organizing of the books like pre loved, and lots of cute gift items. Plus a cat with its own hours! Kathy was super friendly and helpful. Made the whole experience better and is a genuine person. They do have a game room and a snack bar with free water as well as a keuring and snacks for sale. The bathroom is for everyone and they are very welcoming. Of course as an independent bookstore they have a wide variety of titles with some new books thrown in. They do mystery sells and bundles where you get a vague description of a book that is covered up and you take a chance. It should go without saying but as you are supporting local businesses the prices are a little higher the HPB or Amazon but it means more here and you should buy local when you can. I highly recommend this place. They even have a section where if you spend $50 you get to choose a free gift from books to sunglasses to other items. Go in, say hi to Kathy and The Cat!

What a wonderfully weird place! I was looking for a local bookstore that was close to my hotel and…read morewould let me explore a little. The Book Burrow did the trick! I will start with the "downsides" (as few as they are). This place is pretty small. Like smaller than I thought. Because of this, its not the greatest place for browsing. They had some "witch" stuff which was interesting, but I was looking for a book. Also, most of the books are used which isn't terrible, but not exactly clear. As for the positives, this place is a true small business so you really get the personal touch when it comes to service. I also picked this place because it did a "blind book" service where they will pick out a book or two for you based on your description. A bunch of bookstores do this, but the Book Burrow understood the assignment exactly. They got me THREE books and all of them were PERFECT. I was surprised how they found my vibe and found me unique books! They also wrapped it in a beautiful paper and addressed it to me! It was like a little birthday gift to myself! As you can tell, I was very floored by the selections. This is the small business of small businesses so I am so HAPPY that I was able to stop by! While the place is small and their selection is in flux, I really appreciated the personal touch from the staff at The Book Burrow.

I got the jasmine cold brew and it was tasty, but I do wish the jasmine flavor came across stronger. My friend got the osmanthus latte and mentioned that she similarly would have liked the flavor of the drink to be stronger. However, something that we had to remember was that the floral taste was competing with the taste of coffee and milk, so it was diluted. This could have attributed to the light floral flavor that we got, but it did leave us wanting more. I did get to try a sip of the five spice mocha and while some mentioned that it was hot pot mixed with coffee, I found it to be the perfect mix of spices that had a nice seasonal aspect to it (move aside pumpkin spice), which was wonderful! If you like spiced drinks, I would highly recommend trying this one.

It's located right in the middle of UT so parking might be an issue. We got the matcha and I add jasmine syrup. It was not overly sweet at all and I love that they have such unique syrup flavors: jasmine, barley and osmanthus... They also have sesame ice cream matchagato that I really want to try as well... The people running the place are kind. Would def come back.

It's very nice because the person that you get is very knowledged on the wines and let you know the flavors and the notes and what it's good to be paired with and what it's made with and everything like that. I definitely love their rosé and their Pinot Grigio. This is a perfect girls night. At the end they let you have a glass of your favorite wine and also purchase a box of it with a nice discount.

Each BOXT equals 4 bottles and is compostable. I've tried all the flavors, and #1 is my favorite. It's very light and completely refreshing.  A truly delightful white wine. I'm a hard-core red drinker and BOXT has sold me on A WHITE! Today it was hand-delivered to my home. I received a text the day before with a very specific time (12:43) when my wine would be delivered, +/- 30 minutes.  Crazy! Not 12:45; not 12:40. The driver texted me he was on his way and then I was sent a tracking link. They have deliveries down tight. The delivery driver was friendly and told me about my wine when he handed it over. When I mentioned I can't recall which red I like, he tried to help me figure it out. Talk about service! Also, when asked, told me he really loved his job. I have no doubt! I am sold on this fabulous, Austin-based, woman-owned business.  Please support BOXT!
