She did a great job to beautify my aging face and her pricing was reasonable, this is after comparing a good number of makeup artists in the DMV area. She also did big curls on my hair, it was so simple but gorgeous, even my photographer complimented on it. The only thing i was slight not happy with is that towards the end of the photoshoot, the corner of one of my fake eyelashes started to coming off. She had arrived early (big plus), and so did I, so I was able to start 10 minutes ahead of schedule so that she'd have a little more time to work on me (bigger plus). She has an extensive collection of makeup that filled the entire table. The process went very flawlessly. She was amazing at creating a smokey eye to match our dark purple bridesmaid dresses. At the end of the session, she attached the fake eyelashes to finish the look. She finished on time for the next candidate! After our off-site outdoor photo session, she was also able to touch us up before prepping to walk down the aisle! When I got approached by my friends at cocktail hour, both the females and males all showered me with compliments on a fabulous makeup job by Kim. I couldn't be more proud of making the decision to go with Kim and get my makeup professionally done! Overall, I was extremely satisfied with the job, and would recommend her to anyone wanting to look and feel gorgeous in their photos and through out the evening!

At first I wasn't very happy with the color eyeshadow because it was too mauve(ish) and seemed a little too mature for what I was going for. She was super great about it and worked with me to find a color that was better suited. I've had my makeup done a lot and sometimes artists take it really personally when you say you don't like something. This was not the case at all. I also had photos done for something else and the photographer used Ryan as a makeup artist. Ryan was super friendly and easy to get along with. She also did an awesome job with my makeup. On the actual wedding day, Kathy was punctual and very patient with my bridesmaids. She had done my sister's makeup first and then redid it completely over when my sister got really emotional (happy tears!) and cried away all her makeup. I was so happy with my makeup. I used the airbrush which is amazing even though I was a little apprehensive about it at first. I didn't have the cakey look that so many brides have and the coloring was just amazing. Like today, when I literally couldn't stop gawking at how she took me from Zombie extra in a remake of Michael Jackson's Thriller to a pretty little PR princess! One thing I love about Marquia is her energy and enthusiasm. She is sweet and gracious, and really gets pumped about making her clients look their best. She is engaged and takes into consideration what you want, while transforming that look into something that works for your features. Her infectious smile keeps me calm and soothes me no matter how stressed I am about whatever event it is I'm going to. She is also extremely punctual, and always arrives early, ready to set up and then sit down with you first, before starting. She'll discuss everything from your skin type to how you react after makeup is applied - greasy quickly/break out/redness - and from there, she tailors her approach and what she uses to eliminate those issues and help you put your best face forward. Every independent business rents out their own apartment-like space with windows looking into the hallway and sliding doors. I got a haircut with Josie, who was fun to chat with. Her space felt serene with light blue paint on the walls, and plants hanging around the window. Not to mention she made sure that I got the haircut I wanted and left feeling like a million bucks. I only wish that the space lent itself to a central waiting area. There were small benches in corners of the halls outside of some of the businesses, which were a bit awkward.

I was so impressed with her comprehensive treatments. She gave me an exfoliant, mask, steam, extraction for white heads, face moisturizer, moisturizing hand mittens, and everything was warmed up beforehand even the cleansers! I was SO RELAXED! I left not even wanting to put my music on. I just wanted the peace that I felt when leaving her establishment. My skin also looks better since my first session with her.
