Had a make up session for a photoshoot with kim in the beginning of May and truly enjoyed it…read more Kim was super friendly and fun to talk to. It was such a chill vibe throughout my appointment. She did a great job to beautify my aging face and her pricing was reasonable, this is after comparing a good number of makeup artists in the DMV area. She also did big curls on my hair, it was so simple but gorgeous, even my photographer complimented on it. The only thing i was slight not happy with is that towards the end of the photoshoot, the corner of one of my fake eyelashes started to coming off. But since it didn't affect the photoshoot so I am ok with it. Maybe next time, a bit more glue for the corner area My overall experience with Kim was a 5 star & highly recommended by @WineDinenVacay

She had arrived early (big plus), and so did I, so I was able to start 10 minutes ahead of schedule so that she'd have a little more time to work on me (bigger plus). She has an extensive collection of makeup that filled the entire table. The process went very flawlessly. She was amazing at creating a smokey eye to match our dark purple bridesmaid dresses. At the end of the session, she attached the fake eyelashes to finish the look. She finished on time for the next candidate! After our off-site outdoor photo session, she was also able to touch us up before prepping to walk down the aisle! When I got approached by my friends at cocktail hour, both the females and males all showered me with compliments on a fabulous makeup job by Kim. I couldn't be more proud of making the decision to go with Kim and get my makeup professionally done! Overall, I was extremely satisfied with the job, and would recommend her to anyone wanting to look and feel gorgeous in their photos and through out the evening!

At first I wasn't very happy with the color eyeshadow because it was too mauve(ish) and seemed a little too mature for what I was going for. She was super great about it and worked with me to find a color that was better suited. I've had my makeup done a lot and sometimes artists take it really personally when you say you don't like something. This was not the case at all. I also had photos done for something else and the photographer used Ryan as a makeup artist. Ryan was super friendly and easy to get along with. She also did an awesome job with my makeup. On the actual wedding day, Kathy was punctual and very patient with my bridesmaids. She had done my sister's makeup first and then redid it completely over when my sister got really emotional (happy tears!) and cried away all her makeup. I was so happy with my makeup. I used the airbrush which is amazing even though I was a little apprehensive about it at first. I didn't have the cakey look that so many brides have and the coloring was just amazing. I'll try to attach a picture... I highly recommend them both!

I have never felt more beautiful than when Marquia tells me to hop off her chair and take a look in the mirror. Like today, when I literally couldn't stop gawking at how she took me from Zombie extra in a remake of Michael Jackson's Thriller to a pretty little PR princess! One thing I love about Marquia is her energy and enthusiasm. She is sweet and gracious, and really gets pumped about making her clients look their best. She is engaged and takes into consideration what you want, while transforming that look into something that works for your features. Her infectious smile keeps me calm and soothes me no matter how stressed I am about whatever event it is I'm going to. She is also extremely punctual, and always arrives early, ready to set up and then sit down with you first, before starting. She'll discuss everything from your skin type to how you react after makeup is applied - greasy quickly/break out/redness - and from there, she tailors her approach and what she uses to eliminate those issues and help you put your best face forward. If I could give her a sixth star, I would have, because she is absolutely the most talented makeup artist in the DMV. I've even proposed that she move in with me... I hope she says yes!

Every independent business rents out their own apartment-like space with windows looking into the hallway and sliding doors. I got a haircut with Josie, who was fun to chat with. Some highlights: 1) I emailed her on Tuesday and my pics were on Sunday. Not only did she give me an appointment on such short notice, she is also 39 weeks pregnant! I couldn't believe she was willing to do my makeup the weekend before her baby is due. She is so passionate about her job and truly cares about her clients, even if she's never met you before. 2) I never wear makeup so I was pretty nervous about how it would turn out. Addi took time to listen to what I was looking for and we talked about some of my previous (bad) experiences with makeup so that she also knew what I didn't want. Throughout the session, she continuously asked me how I felt and always made sure I was comfortable with the way it looked. Addi is the perfect makeup artist for women who don't usually get their makeup done or are a bit nervous about wearing full makeup. 3) Her studio is adorable, really clean and organized, and all her products are top of the line. 4) She is so sweet and really easy to talk to. My makeup, including eye lashes, took a little over an hour but the time flew by because we were chatting away. She even offered to run into her house and get me an umbrella since it was pouring out. Addi is truly an incredible makeup artist, and I left feeling comfortable in my own skin. People kept telling me how great of a job Addi did enhancing my natural beauty, which is exactly what I was looking for. I got a sneak peak of my engagement pictures and my makeup looks amazing.
