Connie is simply amazing. She is incredibly talented, but what truly sets her apart from other makeup artists in the region is that she is an artist at her core. She brings an artful, intuitive approach to her work--one that enhances and reveals your natural beauty rather than masking it. After working with Connie, you'll see yourself with new eyes--refreshed, authentic, and still completely you. It's a rare experience to feel both transformed and deeply like yourself at the same time. Beyond her artistry, Connie is highly versatile. She listens closely to your preferences and can create a wide range of looks while staying true to your vision. She is also reliable, professional, and a pleasure to work with--truly someone you can trust. Working with Connie feels like collaborating with a true artist. It's no surprise she has worked with high-profile clients, including Dr. Jill Biden. In short, Connie doesn't just do makeup--she helps you experience your own beauty in a new and meaningful way. I highly recommend her. read more

Connie is incredibly talented, knowledgeable, and professional, and you can feel 100% confident in your hair & make up if you work with her! She provided H&MU services for my spring 2025 wedding and delivered the perfect "soft glam" bridal look for the big day. During my H&MU trial in January, I was impressed by Connie's ability to stay true to the inspo pics I shared while still making adjustments to optimize the look based on my features and dress, her technical knowledge of lighting and photography, and her experience working with other clients at the same venue. She shared a few skincare recommendations to prep for the wedding, and I found her tips so helpful I've incorporated them into my post-wedding routine as well! On the big day, Connie went above and beyond to make sure things went smoothly. She arrived early to set up, diligently adhered to our schedule, and even stayed a little after H&MU was finished to see if any adjustments were needed as things got going. Throughout H&MU, Connie checked in to make sure I was happy with how things looked and even made adjustments or started over on different elements to ensure they met her standards as well! Connie approached the day with the utmost care, and I was at complete ease that things would turn out perfectly in her hands. The final look felt glamorous but natural, and still looked great at the end of the evening. On top of being a master of her craft, Connie is super friendly, responsive, and super easy to work with. Booking her for H&MU was one of the best decisions we made in the wedding planning process! read more

Connie is AMAZING! She treats your face like it's a work of art. She does not just "do make-up." She puts the beauty in beautiful. She cares about what you look like from start to finish. Connie is someone who is passionate about her work. She contributes to you looking and feeling your best. This is not a job for Connie. It is her calling. I walked away feeling "seen." Meaning she created a version of me, based on the me she saw and the me I believe I am, with and without make-up. Thank you Connie. read more

Connie is the best! I called her a day before my event and she fit me in. She takes her time and makes certain your makeup is flawless.

I have known and worked with Connie for almost 15 years. As a professional portrait photographer, working with another professional is vital, and Connie is just that. Always on time and usually early to set up, Connie brings a sense of confidence and calm. She would always help my clients feel at ease. Connie is also a great listener and would be sure to check in with our clients to make sure they were happy with their hair and makeup, and they always were. I have to credit Connie with some of my most stunning images. She has added significantly to my success! read more

Connie is a talented makeup artist and hair stylist! She provided services for my wedding in 2022 covering bride, groom and their moms, totally 4 person's makeup and hairs. She worked efficiently and effectively on handling that among different people/preferences/styles. She has great professional techniques and variety of products from luxury brands, which made the process reassuring and enjoyable. Connie also familiar and experience with Asian makeup and able to communicate in Chinese, which is a big plus for someone who is looking for these criteria. I highly recommend Connie! read more

She really nice and honest/friendly with people and she do professional work. I really like how she did my make up done.

I'm in my 40's and I rarely wore makeup growing up and never really learned much about it or how to take care of my skin. I love the idea that skincare and natural makeup can highlight/bring out a person's natural beauty and features. I also found myself working remotely and seeing myself on Zoom regularly. I wanted to learn how to take better care of my skin and use natural makeup and found Face + Crown in my area that offered makeup lessons because I honestly had no idea where to start. I met w/ Connie and she gave me a super helpful lesson on skincare and natural makeup. She applied my makeup explaining each step and teaching me how to do it myself. She followed up after with product links and application instructions. Connie's speciality is natural makeup. The makeup lesson was incredibly informative. Highly recommend! read more

I was looking for an Make Up artist fror my wedding day and found Connie on the www. I arrived at her place for a trial. She was super sweet and knowledgable about make up. My makeup looked flawless. I couldn't even tell that it was myself after the trial. I usually sweat at my nose and T-Zone. She put a product on my nose that did not make me sweat in that area. Even 7 hours later, my make up still looked great! She uses professional make and HD makeup. Products that you can't find at Sephora or the drug store. I highly recommend her. read more

Some artists are talented on what they do... others go well beyond. This is the case with Face + Crow, let me call her by Connie. This amazing hair and makeup artist can make anyone's life look easy, starting from her clients and ending on the photographers/videographers. I had the opportunity to work with Connie in a wedding in Frederick, MD and she not only did an AMAZING job for our client, but she also made sure the photoshoot went very well and smooth. Always carefully retouching the bride, making sure she was well serves AND helping me, the photographer, to make sure her dress was impeccable for the pictures. Seriously, who does that? It may not sound a lot to you, but the pictures speak by themselves. Connie, I will always recommend your services to my clients! I have and wish we can work together many and many times. I attended her make up and finding your good color class. I have to say that it helped me and many of my friends a lot. I never realized that my color is warm. In the past, before the class, whenever I went shopping, I just picked random color and style. After the class, I feel that I shop more effectively and efficiently too because I know which color and style will look good on me. As to her style of applying make up. I like her style because she does not apply a ton of color that you and your friends will no longer recognize you :) I highly recommend her because she LISTENS to what you want and what will look nice on you, and she knows how to make you look prettier. She is friendly so I feel easy to talk to her about what I like and dislike. read more

Connie has an incredible sense for fashion and makeup. She improved my wardrobe dramatically by helping me to find my best color. It turns out that warm colors suit me best. I had no idea that such a simple concept makes all the difference in the world in how I choose what to wear everyday. I have shared some of her tips with my friends and now we go on shopping trips looking for colors that complement our skin tones. It is amazing how much easier--and more fun--it is to go shopping when you know what to look for. Connie has saved me a lot of money by helping me make better decisions on how to fill my wardrobe. I have donated a lot of my old clothes that are not my best colors to charity. But the best thing about Connie is that she has such passion and enthusiasm for helping people look their best. She is so patient when it comes to explaining beauty concepts to people and giving them ideas for how to build on their existing physical strengths. She even volunteers her time by helping unemployed people dress better so they can improve their job search. I highly recommend Connie to anyone who wants to improve their eye for fashion. read more

Connie is super attentive and really truly takes the time not only to execute your vision for hair and makeup, but also to get to know you. She's incredibly professional and personable and I'm so sad I won't get to use her services due to the Covid-19 pandemic cancelling our wedding. I actually had another trial with another artist before I found Connie, and the difference in quality was huge! I have never been comfortable wearing makeup and feel like it always makes my skin look worse or highlights the worst things about my face, but the look she gave me was truly the best version of myself. Additionally - when the pandemic happened and I had to cancel my wedding, Connie was one of my most flexible and understanding vendors. Her response was so gracious and it really speaks volumes about the kind of person she is. Thank you so much Connie!! read more

We have our wedding in early June, 2017 and have hired Connie as my HMUA. She did the hair and makeup for me, three bridesmaids, and two mothers, with some help of her assistant. Because we have a day time wedding, she arrived super early in the morning. Connie was always punctual at work and you can tell how professional she was from the way she organized her hair and makeup tools. (BTW I am amazed by the amount of makeup and hair tools that she has!! You can hardly imagine! I'm sure she can meet all your expectations with her selections) She was absolutely professional! She was very concentrated in her work and super detailed-oriented. I had a trial with her about three months before the wedding, and on the wedding day she brought a piece of paper with all the notes she wrote down during the trial session regarding my makeup that really surprised me. Connie also gave us skin and hair preparation tips so that we could be better prepared on the wedding day. You probably would never find any other HMUA that could be as dedicated and detail-oriented as Connie. Connie was very easy to work with, I have communicated with her a lot about the makeup and hair that I wanted and she was working so hard and taking it so serious to meet all my requirements and expectations. She was very responsive responding to emails. I really enjoyed working with her! And I am very satisfied with the makeup and hair she did for me on my big day. My mum spoke highly of Connie too saying that she was so happy with her makeup and hair! I will definitely highly recommend Connie! read more

Ms. Tsang is a consummate professional. She customized the session to ensure my needs/wants were met while providing a holistic experience from skin care and makeup application to brush/tool maintenance. It was fantastic. read more

Connie was sensational and impressively prepared. She worked with all our hair (2 moms, 3 sisters, and bride) with ease. The Moms had permed hair, 3 sisters have stick straight asian hair, and she added extensions for my hair! She was a phenomenal support during the get ready time and not only had an emergency bag with scissors and slippers, she had bandaids and helped my mom cover her ankle so the strap wouldn't dig in! AMAZING! read more

Connie is absolutely amazing. She was hired for my cousins wedding to do hair for the entire bridal party plus the moms. Everyone had different types of hair, lengths and textures but it didn't seem to phase Connie. Connie did the hair and makeup for my fiance, three bridesmaids, and two mothers. She was absolutely professional and amazing! Connie gave us skin and hair preparation tips. On the day, she was well prepared and arrived at the getting-ready place 20 minutes earlier. She was very concentrated and delivered six people's services efficiently, and all looked beautiful! Connie did my bridesmaids' hair with cute braids, which matched my hairstyle! Communicating with Connie was always easy, and she was very responsive responding to emails. I really enjoyed working with her, so highly recommended! read more

Connie possesses the rare qualities of an exceptional makeup artist; she's unquestionably talented, shows pride in her profession, is honest to work with, and freely give beauty advice to achieve the look you want. I found her for my wedding and visited her at her studio for the trial run. If you visit her studio, you'll see that she has thousands of dollars of supplies. She's not a hobbyist, but a pro. Another note-worthy observation is that she's hygienic with the way she applies make-up through the use clean brushes and disposable applicators for cosmetics such as mascara. Connie also offers HD makeup, which creates a smoothing effect noticeable in photos and is well worth the extra cost. The end result is professional, long-lasting, beautiful hair and makeup and held up for my 7+ hour summer wedding event. I would highly recommend her. read more

Connie of Face + Crown did my makeup for my wedding and it looked incredible. Honestly, I have never looked that good in my life and I probably never will again without Connie's assistance. It was a huge relief to find someone who was adept at working with South Asians and intuitively knew what colors and products would work for me. I also appreciated that she tailored the makeup to the wedding venue and photographers, so that I could have the best possible pictures. Unlike most makeup artists, Connie also disinfected the makeup and brushes, which probably explains why this is the first time I've gotten professional makeup done and not broken out the next day. Connie was also super nice and responsive and happy to provide general hair and makeup tips and helped keep me calm and happy right before my wedding ceremony. read more

A bad experience for bridal make up and hair trial. She is very inefficient. I guess that's why she charges by hour. The whole trial took 5.5 hours. Although she offered me 2 hours free, the cost for 3.5 hour trial was still much over any others' in this area . The make up was fine, but the updo is really a mess. I have to say she is not professional, and her work didn't match her price at all, at least in the hair. read more

I choose Face and Crown for my wedding to do my hair, my two bridesmaid's hair, my mom's hair, and my mother-in-laws hair. I couldn't have picked a better, more understanding vendor. First, Connie started by asking me to send her photos of the makeup and hair style that I wanted and giving me the contact of the other clients so she could work with them and understand their unique needs. Connie came to my home to evaluate my skin and hair and tryout the style I selected. She looked at my "wishlist" and then built a custom recommendation that captured the same look and flair but looked good with my features and face type. The result was amazing, making me look and feel like a princess. She stayed through most of the event to provide touchups and she even helped the photographer capturing several images. When I messed up the timing and didn't have my two bridesmaids at the agreed hour, she instantly came up with another plan and just rolled with it. My wedding still went off perfectly and was on time (despite my seeming inability to plan and coordinate). My makeup and hair was just breathtaking and lasted well past the wedding. My normally frizzy mane of hair didn't even stir in the wind. I highly recommend Face and Crown. read more

Summary: Extremely talented, serious artist, calming, professional, and flexible. I had a big, stressful Jewish-Indian wedding. Connie was my calm. Of all our wedding vendors, she was one of my favorites and certainly the one I spent the most time with and who relaxed me the most. First, I realize she is on the more expensive end, but you get what you pay for and those pictures are all we have left after the big day, so I'd say it is well worth the investment. She is a former painter, and the fact that she is an actual artist comes out in the way she works. She is focused, serious and a perfectionist. She cares about the quality of her work. She has a keen eye and is amazing with color. She is an artist. Further, she is the least annoying person ever. She is calm, quiet (unless you feel like chatting) and is very flexible. If you ask her to change or adjust something, she doesn't get defensive, but perks up to listen very carefully to what you want and then does it. My advice, think about what you want and talk to her about it in advance and at the trial, send her pictures. She listens and actually does what you want. She was almost done with my make-up and when she saw my outfits she got inspired and excited and adjusted slightly to match even better. She is passionate about her work and she is good at it. I had 3 other trials that I paid for and so wanted to work out when I was wedding planning, but they just caked it on, making me look older and not highlighting my best features. Connie is the opposite. She is great. She listens, she is good at what she does and she is really committed to the end result. Lastly, she made me look beautiful while still looking like me. Everyone was super impressed and the photos are beautiful. Hair and Make-up a ten out of ten. read more

I had never had a make over before as I thought that I did my own make up quite well. But I was heading back to work after being on maternity leave and thought it would be a good time to try a new look. I booked a private session with Connie Tsang. The make up studio is in her house. It is very clean and well lit. I brought the make up that I normally use. Connie reviewed my make up and educated me on what colors look best on my face given my skin tone. She then proceeded to show me how best to enhance my face, starting with a basic, quick everyday look and moving towards full make up for a night out on the town. She did half my face and had me do the other half. Connie was very patient and spent as much time as I needed throughout the process. She also wrote down all the make up that she used on my face as well as the brushes and where to buy everything. She also showed me what I could use from my own make up collection that would work with my new look. Boy, were the results amazing! My husband said that he has never seen my face look better (and he's known me for 8 years). After I left I had a few follow up questions and Connie always got back to me promptly with the answers. The session is well worth the price. And I plan on going back in a few years (hopefully she is still working!) to keep my look up to date. read more

Connie did hair and makeup for myself and my 5 bridesmaids on my wedding day recently. The weather was in the high 80s with high humidity. I was really concerned about my frizz-prone hair going crazy, not to mention my oily face, which tends to "devour" makeup. None of these happened! Connie gave me special instructions to prep my hair to reduce frizz before the wedding day. She airbrushed my face and it stayed on till the reception ended at midnight. I had 4 trials done with various hair & makeup artists before finding Connie. What really impressed me about her is that it didn't feel like I'm just another face to her. She listens to what I am looking for and also provides her input which I found really helpful. I was thinking of a down do with spiral curls initially. But after learning how I tends to sweat profusely, Connie recommended a Taylor Swift-like up-do. I went along with the idea and the final look she did on me looks neat but also playful. I got so many compliment on my hair and makeup and can honestly say I've never felt so beautiful. I'd definitely recommend Connie! read more

In this town, more often then not you get what you pay for. I was worried about the cost of Connie's services, but i felt the money would be well spent for piece of the mind that the end result would be amazing. I wanted to look like the best version of myself on my wedding day, not a glamazon with make-up caked on. Connie achieved my desired look and so much more with limited guidance from me. I felt beautiful all day and my bridal party looked amazing as well. Connie was also a wonderfully calming presence during the wedding day. Her relaxed nature was a gift as i got ready for the wedding. Additionally, she handled my mother, a challenge to work with and who was very concerned about her look, amazingly. My mom looked great and Connie showed no signs of struggling to handle her. Finally, unfortunately one of Connie's assistants had to cancel on her the night before the wedding. Connie was able to resolve the problem with no inconvenience to me or my bridal party and she put in the extra time herself to make sure we were all gorgeous and ready on time. read more
