Competitive pricing, talented artist and sweet lady. Her San Mateo location is actually in an apartment complex that she turned into a studio. I was unsure at first but I actually really enjoyed it. Would highly recommend her services as she's talented, friendly, and works with the client to give them what they want. read more

Elena did a great job doing my hair and makeup for my City Hall wedding. I was running short on time and called Elena only a day before the civil ceremony, but she was able to accommodate me the next morning. She picked the right style to make my naturally fine hair look fuller and stay all day despite the strong wind in the city. She is super friendly and fun, and I am glad I went with her for my big day! read more

I feel so very fortunate to have found Elena for my wedding! She was easy and flexible to work with in the run up to my wedding and 100% professional and on point in her execution of hair and makeup for myself and 7 other ladies in my family / bridal party. Elena and I spent a lot of quality time together (between the morning of my wedding and the trial we did about a month before my wedding) and it was really a pleasure getting to know her. She put me at ease, checked in often on how I was doing, and genuinely brought joy to my special day. I felt absolutely gorgeous and yet still 'myself' on my wedding day, which says a lot because I have wild curly hair that a lot of folks don't know what to do with and because I don't typically wear much makeup AT ALL. There's a lot that can go wrong in this scenario, and I'm just so delighted with how 'right' Elena made all of it! I also give Elena super duper bonus points for doing makeup for my 10 year old niece that was both age appropriate and really beautiful, and for bringing a great team of fellow stylists to my wedding. read more

I had such a wonderful experience with Elena! I'm not even sure where to start! From the very beginning Elena was an absolute pleasure to work with. She was referred to me by a good friend and when I texted her, she responded almost immediately, which I really appreciated. In fact she responded to all my texts/questions quickly every time! She worked off of my Pinterest inspo page and I think her work turned out lovely. I had to be out the door by 7:30am for pictures at City Hall and originally she was going to come at 6am. I was worried we wouldn't finish in time so I asked her to come at 5:45am and she said not a problem, and she actually showed up even earlier at 5:30am! She's extremely professional and I so appreciated her punctuality, especially so early in the morning. I know she loves her craft and takes pride in her work; she goes to the same hair/beauty conference every year to hone her craft! She will listen to what you want and ask for your feedback as she works to make sure she gives you exactly what you want. The hairstyle lasted all day into the evening too. She even left some hairspray for me in case I needed it. I thought her rate was very fair, actually a little more on the affordable side considering how expensive bridal updos can cost. I really cannot say enough good things about Elena, I would definitely work with her again in the future if I needed hair styling for a special occasion. Book her!! You won't regret it and you'll probably make a friend for life too ;) read more

I was able to book with Elena on relatively short notice for my maternity photo shoot (during the week), and I'm so glad that I did! I loved the look that she did, and she was able to do exactly what I was looking for, without me really being able to tell her what I wanted exactly, just showed her a few inspo pics and my dresses. She is very easy to talk with, and I think that her prices are very fair. Will use again in the future. read more

As a bride, there are many things to stress and worry about - but in my case one thing was certain - I had ZERO concerns about the quality of my hair and makeup artist! From day one, I cherished her ability to listen to what I wanted (aka a very natural look that would still show up in photos) and deliver in a way that exceeded my goals! From the trial run to the day of the wedding (look 1 and look 2), she was there with a smile in hand and radiated positive energy. Things often do go wrong at weddings, but she was there and invested in every minute, reminding me to soak it up and eat the food, so I could enjoy and make the most of the event. I can't say enough incredible things about her work ethic, reliability, incredible personality / positive energy, along with of course incredible skill in bringing my dream vision to light. Elena, THANK YOU! Also - fun fact, within 6 months of my wedding one of my best friends and bridesmaids got engaged and booked Elena within a week of setting the date :) If that doesn't give you an idea of quality...I don't know what will! read more

Elena was so sweet and talented! She came out to me to help me get ready for my wedding and did both my mother-in-law's and my wedding makeup. She is so kind and easy to work with, and her rates are very reasonable for wedding makeup and for the quality that she offers! read more

Elena did my hair and makeup for both my civil and church wedding. For our civil wedding I went for an old Hollywood look and a more natural one for our church wedding. She did an excellent job on both and really captured what I wanted. I didn't have to explain to her in detail. It's been five years and people still compliment me when I post pictures. She is soo easy to work with, very creative, talented and has a really good eye for what will look amazing on you! Highly recommended! read more

Elena embodies one word: perfection. A couple weeks before my wedding, I emailed her to set up an appointment. She literally responded within 15 minutes and was super transparent and helpful. Elena made sure to understand my style by asking me for photos for inspiration -- she was incredibly thoughtful, caring, and empathetic based on the questions I had for her. On the morning of my wedding day, she met me at 6:15am to do my makeup and hair! She instantly felt like a close friend that I was catching up with over a coffee. Her warm and genuine personality made me feel really comfortable and excited to work with her. The results were above and beyond what I had in mind, and I absolutely recommend booking an appointment with her for any of your makeup and hair needs for special events! read more

After a lot of searching for makeup and hair I was so happy to find Elena for my wedding on 08/19/17. She was able to make me feel not only beautiful but also comfortable on my wedding day. My hair and makeup was flawless and lasted my entire wedding day. Prior to the wedding, we did a trial run and tried different hair styles and makeup which were very helpful. She really put me at ease and took the time to know me. Elena is very nice, down to earth, funny and very professional. Throughout the entire makeup and hair process, Elena and her assistant made sure to check in with the bridal party and myself to ensure we liked the hair and makeup application. Elena did my hair and makeup for my wedding and I was so happy with her work! On top of her incredible skill with both hair and makeup, Elena is kind, warm, and receptive. We did a trial beforehand, and I felt comfortable telling her exactly what I was looking for and where I wanted some adjustments. It's difficult to put into words how AMAZING Elena is! Elena did my hair and makeup on my wedding day, and I absolutely loved the way that I looked!! Elena was also a complete lifesaver when we encountered a few hiccups with our timeline, and she went above and beyond to make sure we got back on track (even helping my mom and the wedding planner to pack up things in the hotel room!). I was in search of a makeup and hair artist for my engagement photos and found Elena on Yelp - I am so glad I did! Elena replied to all of my questions quickly and thoroughly. She was also super flexible and understanding when I had to reschedule at last minute due to our engagement photo session date being moved. Upon arrival to my appointment, Elena was waiting promptly outside her building to show me where to park. Once inside, she listened to how I wanted to be styled and looked through a few examples I had to show her. She did exactly that and had me ready to go within the time frame she had promised. I used Elena for my bridal makeup and hair for an outdoor wedding in July. I wanted to keep things natural but picture-ready (I don't normally wear a lot of makeup, so it was important for me not to look fake). I did a trial run with Elena and was very happy with the outcome (both my mom and my fiance liked the look). On the wedding day, Elena was at the venue on time and fully prepped. She was extremely professional and helpful - even with last-minute panic/stress she kept it cool and offered to help to solve random wedding- day mayhem issues. I loved my looked - it made me feel confident and comfortable, which was the key to calm my nerves. The overall look was even better than the trial run despite less than optimal set-up room amenities and wedding-day stress. Plus, Elena is super fun and a pure delight to work with!! I would use Elena's services again in a heart beat (and likely will) and I highly recommend her to anyone in need of makeup services (wedding or not)! read more
