New coffee spot alert! This is one of the two new locations in the SFV. Hours are 6:30 AM to 8 PM, 7 days a week. They have so many options for their specialty drinks, I get stuck in analysis paralysis. I think I found my drink here: The COLD BREW with SALTED OAT MILK CREAM! The right amount of not too sweet and perfectly delicious! I tried the recommended: HONEY BEE LATTE and COOKIE BUTTER LATTE. They were a bit too sweet for my taste, maybe half sweet will do. We had the CHILI VERDE BREAKFAST BURRITO which was delicious but it was a ginormous tortilla compared to the small contents within. The TURKEY SAUSAGE BREAKFAST SANDWICH was okay, I felt like it was missing something. It is still worth to try if you want to grab a bite. I would still like to try their other breakfast foods and specialty coffee drinks. The service here is awesomely welcoming. They were so sweet that 3 employees made 3 separate pup cups for my pup. Their pup cup has some peanut butter with the whip cream which was such a great treat, that made my dog was so happy, he didn't want to leave. I had to drag him out the door. He was literally refusing to leave. I like this SVF location because they have a grassy area with trees to walk your dog and plenty of outdoor seating. This was my very first time trying Makenna Koffee. This shop has been bookmarked for a while, and I'm glad one recently opened close to me. Upon arriving, I was immediately greeted by multiple employees. The welcome felt very warm and inviting. The ambiance was bright and modern with a Hawaiian theme. They offer both indoor and outdoor seating, but this shop is better suited for meeting friends or grabbing coffee than for studying. This shop has a lot to choose from. They offer energy drinks, dirty sodas, signature espresso drinks, smoothies, matcha, baked goods, and much more! If you like Dutch Bros.-style drinks, this is the shop for you. For this visit, I decided to order the Banana Babe. The drink was sweet, nutty, creamy, and oh-so delicious! The service was flawless. The cashier was really sweet, helpful, and had a smile on her face the entire time. She made my first experience even better! Overall, I had a very pleasant experience. I had never heard of Makenna coffee but was excited to try this new spot. We went during opening weekend and it was busy! We waited in line for about 10min to order. They have a lot of drink options but most were still not available. I also wanted a breakfast sandwich but they were all out. I opted for an iced Maui Vanilla. Considering how busy they were, drinks came out fast. They had a lot of workers that day. There are tables inside and outside to sit and since the inside was crowded we sat outside. My husband got a chocolate croissant and it was actually good. The drink as good but a little too sweet for me. I think next time I have to ask them to adjust the sweetness level. Tried this new coffee spot. I had the Irish cream cold brew it was good I liked it. The place was busy and the guy taking orders was nice. Welcome to the SFV, Makenna!! I have had this chain a few times from their other locations out there and happy to have them here, finally!! Decided to drop by this morning and was very surprised to find a not super busy "grand-ish opening!" We parked in the "back" since they had their door wide open so figured we could go through that way. They have a big parking lot which is nice too. Love that it wasn't busy at all so we were in and out of there pretty quickly. They still have a lot of "Coming Soon" on their menu but tons of workers in case there is a rush and also looked like some of them were still finalizing/organizing some things. Beautiful interior and had that "new house" smell which was very satisfying. I usually get their Nutty Irishman but noticed that they had a Cookie Butter latte on the menu so I knew I had to try it! Perfection. Got a medium and it was just right, thought about adding an extra shot but it wasn't needed. Forgot they put whipped cream in their drinks but that's ok, I usually opt out of it, next time! The cookie butter flavor is strong which I love! So happy to have Makenna Koffee in the Valley now! My first couple of experiences here have been great. Staff are friendly and helpful in answering any questions about their extensive menu. I have tried the Maui Latte and the Cabo San Lucas and have really enjoyed both; the espresso is strong-tasting and smooth, but definitely ask for an extra shot or for it to be half-sweet if you prefer a more coffee-forward taste. The interior is very clean, sleek, and has a great "new" feel to it. There are a couple of tables, and it seems like it could be a comfy study spot! Looking forward to my next visit and trying more of their menu offerings. read more

Is there coffee in here? Maybe it's just my experience with a new location. There are a TON of people working but TBH I don't taste anything in my coffee but oatmilk. I literally had my husband try it to make sure I was not misreading my drink.. his response was either they have the worlds lightest espresso or they omitted. It's. Super cute place but there are a LOT of small, great tasting independent coffee shops out there. So if this is the norm, they may get slow really fast. read more

I fell in love with Makenna coffee in Simi Valley and was so excited that one finally opened by my house in the valley. I tried the breakfast burrito the first time I tried the valley one and it was horrible. I gave it a pass hoping it was because they just opened. Staff was rude.... long line was forming and the girls in the cash register are more interested in dancing and singing then taking peoples orders. The Makenna Koffee on balboa is an absolutely amazing establishment. I have been to their other locations but this was by far the best one. It was clean, well lit, and my caramel iced chai was absolutely delicious. From the moment I walked in, despite it being crowded due to it being its opening week, I was immediately greeted by a few employees and felt very welcomed. Most notably, Jacelyn, went above and beyond and offered a more personalized experience! I wasn't quite sure what to get and she helped solved that problem by offering a few suggestions by telling me the types of drinks they served as well as the customizations I could get. She was very professional and her work ethic was top notch. I will definitely be coming here again and I suggest to future customers to bring family and friends to enjoy as well. read more

I usually always get a coffee after the gym since it opened, and I know it could get busy since this location is new. I take that into consideration, so I never come in with a mindset that I'll be in and out in 5 minutes. However, today I went in and there wasn't a line, it was crowded but I already know the ambiance. I stood there waiting for one of the cashiers to let me know she's ready to take my order. I don't like being overbearing and standing in front of the register when the workers could be busy doing something else. There were 3 girls in front of the cash register while I'm still waiting just talking. One of them starts dancing and singing. I'm still waiting because I don't want to be annoying and interrupt their conversation. Until I heard one of the girls say "I think she's ready to order" while looking at me. The girl singing laughs and turns around to talk to the other girl next to her. I'm still waiting to get my order taken and now there's a line forming behind me. I want to say I was there for like 5 minutes waiting to just get my order taken while no one was in front of me. I usually don't care about the wait but I just think it was super rude of the girls in front of the register to just look at me and have one of them acknowledge me, but still be ignored. I left without ordering anything because, honestly, I was embarrassed for waiting so long, even though they knew I was there, and talked about me amongst themselves.
