Dancing in the booth so seating is plentiful!

Thank you Makeout Room for keeping my things safe as well as myself when I am busy having lots of fun dancing and meeting folks. Love it here and it has quickly became my go to to listen to sick local djs, dance well into the night!!

Came here for a show - "About Last Night" Storytelling Open Mic last week. Love these events. Some notes: -Parking is almost non-existent on a Friday night so plan ahead. -Venue itself was pretty cool with the ceiling ornaments and lighting, space is intimate, and already packed an hour before the show started. -There's only 1 stall in the tiny bathroom - Bar is cash-only (there's an ATM) - Limited seating- you best come early to be able to grab a coveted lounge-style seat in the front of the stage, booths on the side, or you'll be left standing throughout the show. I was slick and grabbed a barstool to face the stage. -There's a water jug with paper cups in case you get thirsty Show itself was hilarious and highly recommend it- just heed the above and you'll have a great time.

The bartenders were great. We came here for karaoke and the staff for that booth would constantly turn off the mics when BIPOC people would go up. When I asked why they said we were so loud that we didn't need our mics on. This is not a safe place for BIPOC folks.

Love the Makeout Room! Always always a good time here Just found out that they're the same owners of Latin American Club, so you'll often see the same staff at both locations. It has a handful of double seater booths and a few large, open booths in the back with tables and rolling office style chairs along the dance floor (definitely fits the vibe). We came on a random Tuesday to watch my friend spin, and it was great to see how spacious the place actually is. Plus the tunes were great!

If the word vibe was in a photo this would be it

If the word vibe was to be described as a place this is it. Inside looks tacky yet also weirdly cute. I came here with a group on a Saturday around midnight and it was packed. There is a $10 cover fee in cash. I think it was Cumbia, 00's songs, and some techno-esque music playing most of the time. I still can't accurately describe the ambiance of this place. It feels like there is some intention on a super random mix of music which makes the place seem alt. or jaded hipster energy. It probably is simply just bad millennial era music taste and nothing more. It felt nostalgic, like I was reliving a high school dance. There is a full bar in here, but cash only. There is a Wells Fargo ATM right across the street. There are cans sold individually as well as reasonably priced cocktails at the bar. I got a Moscow mule and an IPA for less than $20, but that's one drink worth elsewhere in San Francisco and so I would say this place is wallet friendly. If you're looking to find something unique to do near midnight with friends in this area, this venue would be a good option.

Ask the Community - Make Out Room

Is there ADA seating available??? I can't get an answer calling their phone and there's no email on their webpage to ask...so, curious about seating.

Seating consists of booths and tables with movable chairs.

This came up as a club for teens too, is that correct?

    I believe its 21+, its a bar

From the moment I walked in, I was struck by the warm, coastal charm of the space. The soft lighting, breezy decor, and gentle music created the perfect backdrop for what would become one of the most unforgettable nights of my life. I came in for cocktails with a friend, not knowing that fate had other plans. One cocktail, a few laughs, and a perfectly timed Old Fashioned later, I found myself deep in conversation with someone who would change my life. Beyond the magic of that night, Natamo Cabana truly delivers. The staff is attentive and kind, always making you feel like you're part of something special. Every time we return, it feels like coming home. We even celebrated our anniversary there, and the team went above and beyond to make it memorable. If you're looking for a place that has great cocktails, Natamo Cabana is it. Who knows you might just meet the love of your life too.

The space has a fun indoor-outdoor party vibe with string lights, a big bar area, and a lot of people moving through throughout the night. Because it gets very crowded during First Thursdays, the energy feels more like a social event than a typical bar night. It's a good place to stop by if you're already out in the area and want somewhere with music and a busy atmosphere. The photo here was taken from their little loft area, which is actually really cute and a great spot for people watching since you can see the whole bar and crowd from above. One thing I wasn't sure about was the plastic cups. Every time I've gone they've served drinks in plastic cups, but since it's so busy during First Thursdays, I'm not sure if that's their normal setup or just something they do to keep things moving during the event. I ordered a rosé, which was perfectly fine and easy to drink while walking around.

The service from the bartenders was just okay. This is definitely the kind of place where you should know exactly what you want to order and stick to classic cocktails. Don't expect anything particularly creative or over-the-top--it's a straightforward, classic bar experience. That said, if you're looking for a true speakeasy vibe, I would recommend this spot. The espresso martini was delicious, and I would come back for the drinks alone. Just don't come in expecting exceptional service.

Luckily, my friend had already been to Iron Horse Cocktails, and suggested we go there instead. Walking down the alleyway it is located in was a nice getaway from the otherwise hectic union square atmosphere. Walking in was also a neat experience that felt like we were stepping out of the city into a tiny pub. We also really liked the atmosphere inside and the cozy upper floor that had an interesting mix of old paintings and woodwork, creating an eclectic feel. I got the We've Got the Beet cocktail with mezcal, beet reduction, ginger, fresh citrus, thyme and firewater bitters. I love mezcal's smoky flavors and was drawn to the combination of ginger, citrus and mezcal flavors in the drink. The cocktail was very good and had a nice smokiness from the mezcal, along with the kick from the ginger and zest from the citrus, creating a refreshing and tasty drink. My friend got the About Thyme, with gin, blackberry liquor, black pepper thyme syrup and fresh citrus. We both really liked his drink as well, which had an interesting kick from the black pepper thyme syrup that offset the gin and blackberry liquor nicely. While we only had time to grab a drink each, we were both very happy with the drinks and would definitely come back the next time we're in the area.
