I wish yelp had more than a 5-star rating because TJ really deserves it, specifically, when it comes to going the extra mile. Serving someone to appear in court is not a pleasant thing to do, and for me it was the very first time...and hopefully the last. I initially used the sheriff to deliver court papers to the defendant - they attempted three times but were unsuccessful. So I started looking online and came across Make 'Em Pay. Bingo! From the very beginning communication was super easy and efficient, via online chat or email. I decided to hire TJ to serve the defendant's wife (turned out to be ex-wife) at the same address; not only was TJ able to make contact with her, but he was successful in getting a new address where the defendant now lives...eventually he was sub-served, which should be sufficient enough when I go to court. TJ immediately sent Proof of Service to court and did a follow up daily to see if the court received it. Very impressive, professional, and detail-oriented service that TJ has provided. He deserves a round of applause and a standing ovation. Should I need to serve someone in the future (hopefully not!) or am being served myself (fingers crossed), my choice is clear! read more

I needed someone to serve notice of a small claims court appearance to an individual who performed shoddy workmanship on a project, and he was not responding to my demands to correct it. The people at Make 'Em Pay had him served within hours of my forwarding the information through the website. The individual actually notified me to "correct" the project before I even knew that he had been served. The issue has not been resolved and we will be going to court, but I am so grateful to Make 'Em Pay for their aggressive follow-up on the case. They were responsive, professional and so, so effective. I would use them again if I ever needed a process server in the future, and I would highly recommend them to anyone needing these services. No reservations. Great job by all involved! read more

Fantastic, prompt, and responsive service at a very reasonable price. Thank you Make 'Em Pay

Highly recommend Thomas at Make 'Em Pay! He is highly efficient and effective at communicating exactly what was going on throughout the entire proof of service process. In addition, once the documents have been served he immediately sent me a proof of service affidavit via email and photos of the envelopes. I certainly will be using his services again in the near future! Thanks! read more

If you're trying to serve someone who deliberately hides from process servers to avoid lawsuits - hire Make 'Em Pay. I had to sue someone who has a track record of hiding, lying, and using fake identities all to avoid being sued. To make it worse, I had to handle the case from out of state and on a limited budget. This was my first time in this process and I really couldn't afford to get it wrong. TJ and the process server Matt went above and beyond and helped me finally get this person served, as well as filing all the paperwork on my behalf. TJ answered all my questions and helped me understand the process and feel confident that I was doing everything right, as well as helping me figure out the best course of action with the greatest likelihood of a positive result within my budget constraints. It was so satisfying to finally serve her and to see her show up in court. I hope I never have to sue anyone in LA again but if I do, I will absolutely be hiring Make 'Em Pay as my process server. I can't recommend them more highly. read more

The name says it all, "Make 'Em Pay" is an unstoppable force, with a team that gets the job done. As the person to be served was being more, and more evasive, TJ and his team were able to track them down, nail them, and get them served. We will use TJ and "Make 'Em Pay" if ever the need arises; and highly recommend "Make 'Em Pay", as the go to source for efficiency and service. Thank you, TJ. read more

If it could give 10 stars to Thomas and Make Em' Pay, I absolutely would. I needed to serve the defendant in my small claims case that has been going on for over 2 years. She is absolutely shifty and will do anything to avoid service! After failed attempts by the sheriff and a different process service company, Thomas went all in and was creative in his attempts. When all hope seemed lost, he called with options and offered other solutions that may work and shortly after was able to hang out long enough to catch the defendant arriving home!!! Documents were served properly, on time and it's all thanks to Thomas! Seriously thank you a bunch and would highly recommend your services to anyone who needs them. read more

Make 'em Pay is the best process server. The first time I used their service to serve an eviction to a bad tenant. TJ explained everything to me and executed very well. More recently my mother hired the Sheriff at the court to serve a contractor that ripped her off. The Sheriff attempted to serve, but said she was unable to do so because the person who answered the door said that the person to be served was not there. At this point, we were up against the deadline. So, I referred my mother's case to Make 'em Pay and requested a rush service. TJ explained how we can serve in this case and got it done the next day! I highly recommend them to serve papers for any case! read more

This is my first time to write a review on yelp (or any other place!). I usually don't write a review, but I have to do it here because I had a really great experience with them. Thomas was great! I needed to serve my claim to my defendant, but my previous process service couldn't do it because the defendant lived in high security condo. They tried 6 attempts and it all failed! Because I couldn't do it by the court date, I needed to extend the court date. The judge said that this was my last chance. I was very worried that I may not be able to serve my claim even second time. Because of pandemic, the court date was postponed once. I was waiting for another postponed date so when I realized, the time for serve was very limited. I really thought I may need to give up. I asked Thomas and he served my claim the next day as first attempt! I couldn't believe it!!! He is very knowledgable and very unique way to get in the high security building! I was very impressed! Also, he replied me every time even my repeated small questions and explained to me with patient. I am very grateful that I found him. I am pretty sure you'd be very satisfied with their service too. Highly recommended! read more
