Nice 90* pool on a cold and windy June evening. The kids love it!
Courtney C.

Absolutely love the program! We are able to have both kids in lessons at the same time and have an awesome area for the baby to play during it all! We have had super fast communication, great scheduling and awesome friendly faces each time we visit. So very happy with it all. The pool is so cute and has restrooms and changing rooms, plenty of beach chairs for parents and a snack bar. There is also a play area for baby/toddler siblings while they wait. This is the perfect set up for us. And most importantly, my kids love their coaches and want to come, and are learning so much!!!

Great place for a family swim! The pool is on the small side, but that made it easier to keep an eye in my kids and they had a great time.

I hesitated to write this review, because Miss Jean is such a gem that I would rather keep her all…read moreto myself! But the right thing to do is to share the love. I have 3 daughters, and 3 months ago only one of them could swim at all. I was really nervous about taking my kids near water because I was constantly anxious about them drowning. When I met Miss Jean three months ago, I told her my summer goal was to have each of my daughters swimming - even (especially) the 3 year old! Three months and a total of 36 lessons later, all three girls are full swimmers who are completely comfortable and confident in the water by themselves. In fact, it only took Miss Jean two months to get them there! Miss Jean is magic with kids. She has so many years of experience, she really just gets kids and swimming. She knows when to push them and when not to. She knows how to sell swimming to them. She knows all the barriers and how to ease her students through them. She connects crazy well with each child. She has oodles of toys with spiffy names (e.g., the "marshmallow stick," the "treasure chest") that the kids just love. I watched her interact with not just my kids, but many other children in countless lessons throughout the summer. Her superpowers are: (1) Patience - like, a ton ton of patience; and (2) Understanding each child individually, and custom-tailoring her approach to each one. I watched her work with children with developmental disabilities, epilepsy, super young children, and older teenagers with appropriate differentiation and so much love. PLUS PLUS she was super flexible about scheduling all summer. She uses a great system of Google-calendar invites. You can cancel anytime up until right before the lesson with no penalty. Between my 3 daughters' other summer camps, family trips, etc. etc. I needed to constantly revise our schedule, and she was a total trooper about it. You schedule when you want, you change the schedule when you want, and you only pay for lessons you attend. Wow. So: She is the swim-whisperer. All her students + families think so, and they are probably not posting about it on yelp for the same reason I didn't want to. ;)

I would give her 6 stars if I could! Miss Jean taught both of our boys to swim and we went to her…read morefor years, she is amazing. She is no nonsense and doesn't give in to tears which I fully appreciate. Her methods work and the boys are both fish in the pool, they love swimming! Highly highly recommend her!

Our 3 year old was in the Starfish class and loved his teacher, but since the change in ownership, his teachers have been different which has caused a lot of anxiety with a child that has already struggled with water confidence. If your child is older or doesn't mind inconsistency with his teachers, BSS might work great for you. If you have a young child or a child that does not adapt well to changes, I would suggest looking elsewhere.

On Sunday I use a $1 pool noodle for my swim while the class is ongoing as I was leaving one of the team female of the Swim class RUDELY and UNPROFESIONAL confronted me and said I am not allowed to use the pool noodle. I said I was not notified that was the case and others have used it too. Caucasian female blonde no name tag went to the front counter and complained about me using the pool noodle. WOW! The next time I come to the club I will have my OWN $1.00 pool noodle for my personal use since the BRITISH SWIM SCHOOL STAFF is protective of pool toys that they are not using during the class. They helped my four-year-old granddaughter overcome her absolute fear of getting into the pool. Within minutes, Will and Gwynn coaxed her in and the next thing you know she is laughing and playing games. She has progressed beautifully into the starfish float, a lifesaving skill and will continue until she can swim on her own. She loves it and all of the swim instructors are kind, patient, professional and fun. I think Gwynn's singing the ABC's to her to time the starfish float helps her hang in there! Will is amazing too. His skilled, encouraging and gentle guidance has Naomi comfortable and happy. They even provide written updates on your child's progress. The facility is also beautiful and in a great location! San Ramon Olympic Pool & Aquatic Park - The infamous San Ramon bucket in the splash zone

San Ramon Olympic Pool & Aquatic Park

Wow, San Ramon Aquatic Center is great if you're looking for a place for beginner swimmers or a…read moreplace to splash during a hot summer day. We've been to Dublin Wave and Larkey Swim Center but I think San Ramon Aquatic Park takes the cake: 1. Low entry fee of $8/pp. Big, clean family room for changing along with showers. 2. The main splash pad is a sight to behold. They have this gigantic bucket that gets filled with water pumped from the main pool. It rocks back and forth like a slow bell, signaling impeding doom. Eventually, the bucket tips over and drenched everything and everyone below. It never gets old watching this. 3. They have separate pools for diving, lap swimming, and one with a gigantic inflatable structure that looks like an obstacle course from American Ninja, only above a big pool. As for minor downsides: 1. Limited places to sit around the perimeter. Its crowded here and many folks set out blankets for picnics. 2 Despite a pretty big parking lot, it does get busy so you may need to park a bit farther.

First time visiting this pool with some friends and kids on a weekend. There's a huge parking lot…read moreright outside the pool, which is very convenient. The parking signs were a little confusing because they say "pool permit parking only," but I later found out that this only applies on weekdays. $8 admission is a pretty good deal, although there's an additional service fee when paying by credit card. The front desk didn't mention the fee, and I only noticed it after reading a sign off to the side of the desk. The changing room was clean and tidy, with hot showers and plenty of lockers. There aren't individual changing stalls, though, and the bathroom is located inside the changing room. The kids' pool is probably the highlight. It's very shallow and perfect for little kids, with water slides, a play structure, and a big bucket that fills up and dumps water over everyone. The kids had a lot of fun waiting for it. The main pool has a dedicated lap-swimming section and a shallower area around 4 feet deep where people can hang out. The deep end has an inflatable obstacle course that looks like an American Ninja Warrior-style setup, along with diving boards at different heights. My biggest issue was the very strict lifeguard monitoring. They were watching the pool extremely closely, with whistles ready to go at any moment. During our three-hour visit, I saw multiple parents and kids being spoken to by lifeguards. I was also approached for having a small child on my back in the shallow section. I was standing comfortably in the water, but I was told not to carry the child that way. What confused me was that I was allowed to carry the same child in front of me, but not on my back. I understand the lifeguards have to enforce safety rules, but I wasn't clear on the difference or what additional safety concern the back carry presented. Overall, I appreciate having lifeguards who are attentive and focused on safety, especially with so many kids around. However, during our visit, it sometimes felt like I was being watched the entire time and had to walk on eggshells. The facilities are clean, the kids' pool is fun, there's plenty to do, and $8 is a reasonable price. Would I come back? Maybe 50/50. It's a good community pool, but the very strict enforcement made the experience a little less relaxing for me. ‍
