Custom timbs I made
Jordynn B.

I have been wanting to come here for a while. They close the Northridge Mall location last year, but Los Angeles is still pretty close to me. This is a six hour or so class so definitely mentally prepared before you book. I was very excited the entire way through. Make sure to come with someone who also Can keep the energy going. I was so motivated because everyone here was new at making shoes for the most part and it felt like a zone. They also let you order food here which is so cool that you're there for so long. They have great instructors, Rosie and Manuel help me so much. They even have an itinerary letting you know how the day is gonna go, which is so cool cause you're totally in the know. If you want to customize if you want to help someone with her shoe and for more support. You also can purchase shoes there and they have men's sizes 13 and 14 which is great because that is my boyfriend size. I want to go to the one in Vegas or Miami. Fingers crossed I can make that happen.

Babe and I loved our shoes thank you rosey and Manny for the shoes!!! They came put fire. We will definitely be coming back again.

His custom white Jordans turned out exactly how he wanted them.

Booked for my boyfriend's birthday a week ago with some friends, and let me tell you we had the best time. We went in having an idea of what to expect but we were pleasantly surprised by the hands on approach from the instructors, the positive environment and the vibes to get as creative as you want. We are already talking about coming back ! Thank you again for a great experience.

Worth every penny! Absolutely loved this experience with my 10 year old. They are so helpful, fun to work with and inviting!! I cannot wait to do this again. There are hundreds of paints and fabrics to pick from and there was never a moment I felt too overwhelmed because they're so helpful.

I organized a holiday fun activity for my work team and it was the BEST ACTIVITY EVER. Everyone enjoyed it, our instructors were fantastic- great attitude, kind, super helpful, and patient. Even my teammates who were nervous about having to do a hands-on creative activity loved the process and made their shoes their own. We were there for 5hrs but the time flew by! Excited to do this workshop again and bring new folks and a different pair of all white sneakers to customize.

Great experience. The host helped us get our visions out to perfection. We will be doing this again in the future.

Such a dope concept. You get to display your creative juices, and have a variety of paints, fabrics and supplies to select from. Super fun for a date night, group activity or even solo. Staff was extremely friendly and helpful. Great vibes. Here's what my husband and I created.

I've been here 4 or 5 times now. I try to bring someone new with me each time. It's such an awesome concept. The first pair I did was all painting. Then I tried again with a little bit of sewing. The staff is awesome with helpful hints, tricks, and creative suggestions. I even made my wedding shoes here. The staff took such great care of a 40 year old lace dress and helped me create a new family heirloom. Listen, if you dont have a creative bone in your body, this place is still fun, and staff will help you create something amazing! Please go! You won't regret it. It may even become an addiction. It has for me!

His shoes change colors in the sun. This was my son's creation

My sister recommended this place to me and I thought it was a great idea to do his birthday fun day here , it's like the great experience to come as a father or mother with your teen son, to have a great time and bonding day. My son was kinda nervous in the beginning but the staff( Nikki and Jackie) were very supportive and made my son feel really comfortable and he loved the experience . Highly something for your bucket list. Thank you for the great time and all the help!

HIGHLY RECOMMEND!! So much fun being creative!

HIGHLY Recommend MajorWavez for a fun, creative experience!! We came for the first time and the staff (Jackie and Nikki) in the LA loction were so helpful and supportive. We had a blast getting to be creative with our custom kicks. We will definitely be back for more custom fun. Thanks for a great experience

Ruben and his team were awesome! we did a corporate event of about 40 people that customized shoes and it was a big hit! we'll for sure be making this an annual event

Came here as a surprise not knowing what to expect and I was blown away! I was so excited to see my idea come to life and the Majorwavez team was very polite and helpful every step of the way! I will definitely be coming back and bringing some friends with me next time!

It's been amazing to see how much she's learning while having such a great time. She's experimenting with watercolors, pastels, shading, scale and different ways of approaching art. The classes are thoughtful and engaging, and it really feels like the kids are encouraged to explore their creativity rather than simply follow a template. Bella, the owner, is incredibly sweet and wonderful with the kids. She creates such a warm and welcoming environment where they feel supported and proud of their work. There is an adorable shop up front of perfectly curated fabrics, sewing accessories, projects, and small treasures while the mid area of the space opens into a creative shared table area. If you venture past the rainbow quilts all the way to the back you will find a treasure trove of Juki sewing machines, set to host a group of new to advanced sewers along with a large table area in the back for a variety of craft projects. My children are in 1st and 4th grade and enjoyed the 2 part Crochet class. When it was a bit difficult for my younger one, Debbie scaffolded the entire thing and made it possible for her to learn, feel successful, and feel like part of the group. We have also tried the finger knitting blanket class and now my 4th grader can make gorgeous blankets for friends and family. The sewing classes for 8+ are incredible. My eldest has loved going in to learn how to make tote bags, pillow cases, and a variety of other sewing projects. They also have camps, which we are eager to try someday. Most recently we hosted a very special birthday party here and I can share that it was incredible, lovely, and probably the most present I've ever been able to be at one of my kid's birthday parties, considering Debbie took on most of the labor! 11 children made pillows together, along with adorable rainbow keychains and they really had a blast. I was so impressed to see my little one sewing away on the machine with her dad next to her and the older kids jump right in. Many of them made 2-3 little pillows, even though they had never sewn before! Debbie's instruction is clear, easy to follow, and she has a great deal of patience while sharing how to create these masterpieces. It was really nice having mochi ice cream in the middle table area too- Debbie had everything needed for a party in case things were forgotten. The little fridge helped too! It was very reasonably priced and an unforgettable experience for the kids. We hope Meraki will be on this cute corner for many years to come!

We had attended the second class (thinking it was the first), and at that class the teacher clearly stated that only three students showed up at class one; I also heard another parent say she didn't know the session had started the previous week, either. Yet then, Samara apparently discussed this with the teacher, then came back to me via email and wrote: "I was disappointed that you knowingly and falsely implied that other families were also misled in the start date so you could get a refund." She continued on to say that my family was not a good fit for her studio, and essentially booted us from classes. Is this not an insane way to do business? I had already told her that I would accept no refund or make-up class, and yet she pushed the issue, all over email. She must hide behind some really nice teachers. I will not be recommending her studio to anyone.

Gradually my son would come home sad and upset. At first, I brushed off his complaints as maybe he just had a random rough day. Today, I picked up my son and Ms. Billy complained about his projects and all kinds of stuff right in front of my son. My son came to the car crying feeling terrible about his artwork. I asked him several questions about what happened as I didn't want to make any rash judgements about the teacher. He explained that he felt that Ms. Billie was being mean to him and that he was really struggling with clay (it's a new skill for him). I asked if she helps him with his clay a little extra since he's obviously struggling more than the rest of the more experienced students (I'd think she'd spend a little extra time with him). He said no - she was drinking tea and when she came back he had made a snail project where its tongue broke off and couldn't put it back on. He said he destroyed it and my son said she made another mean comment to him: "ohh so you're breaking stuff, instead of making stuff". He was struggling to put on the tongue, which you didn't help him with. Ms. Billy told me it was Gary the snail which didn't go with the CA theme they're working on. Ok. My question is: how is one of your struggling students able to make an entire snail project without you noticing until he's that far along with it? Then, the tongue falls ogf of it, you make a comment to him about it being wrong, he destroys it, you make another comment to him about him about breaking things instead of making things. Ok. If she's going to drink tea instead of helping struggling students then she shouldn't be surprised about them struggling. He said she was helping the other students - not him so much. He also said he got up to grab a toothpick, and she said to him "you're disrupting the entire class" and he was embarrassed that all the kids stared at him. He wasn't being defiant but she keeps treating him as if he is. My son said he was really surprised at how mean Ms. Billy was treating him - he genuinely didn't know he was doing anything wrong, She did sound agitated when she was complaining to me about my son. I know my son - he's not a bad kid and he's super kind. I'm not just saying that because he's my son. He truly is. I'm the type of person that takes criticism well and I'm happy to help correct behavior when necessary. In this case, I really feel that Ms. Billy is not spending enough time with struggling students - in my sons case not understanding instructions according to her. I didn't appreciate her putting my son down in front of both my husband and I. Ms. Billy made it sound as if my son was being defiant - I can assure you my son is not defiant - he genuinely is just having a hard time with the project! He's asking for help from his teacher in his own 8 year old way. He just turned 8 by the way. Mrs. Elizabeth in the front is amazing on the other hand! Very helpful and kind lady.

The teachers here are incredible and create such a warm environment and sense of safety where children create and learn to their full capacities. I appreciate Ruby Hannan, Anayantzin Sanchez, and Billie Frolov who have all guided our kids in various classes & camps including Claymation, Make Your Own Stuffie, Mini Makers, and Youth Lessons. We've also been to some cool events here for children, our favorite being when they invited the animators from the new Ninja Turtles movie/Mitchell's Vs. the Machines to come talk to the students and show them people can become animators when they grow up! Truly an inspiring place where children come to explore and create their own art. So thankful to have found this studio! *also editing my review to add that I specialize in a field of child development & communication; I respectfully disagree with the parents below who claim this place is merely a bunch of babysitters or that their children didn't learn anything during their time here. I've been so impressed the way the educators here scaffold the summer camp in a way that the older kids are making Claymation videos or sewing stuffies alongside the younger ones. No one is so frustrated that they can't participate and at the same time these kids are challenged!! My children had increases in their artistic abilities, social skills, vocabulary, fine motor skills, ability to use technology to create art, and I would go so far as to say even their overall self esteem, as the final art show is truly a special time for families to come together and celebrate what these children have created with the guidance of some awesome instructors. Sorry, but I could go on! The only time I've ever seen the tv on at Art/Work/Place was during the gorgeous, hilarious, magical Claymation Camp viewing party a year ago and the time the Ninja Turtles animators used it to show us some clips from a movie they made. Again, context matters.... Let your kids give them a try and decide for yourself :)
