This is the best afternoon I've had in the city. The fully decked out dior tableware is absolutely gorgeous AND the indoor garden space just wow. This is my dream set up. Beyond the stunning setting, the bites are surprisingly good. Loved the savory ones, tasted super fresh with a lot of variety. The sweets were solid too. They use a lot of fruity flavors so they're quite light and not as sickening as other ones Extra plus for serving dammann frère tea! Seating is limited in the garden area so make sure to call ahead to secure it. lily of the valley tea $125*

I have had tea here twice and dinner once. The tea service in particular stands out: it is such a lovely setting for it in the covered indoor garden area and also given the quality of the presentation and food itself. The plates, tea service, etc. is currently by Dior and is quite pretty as well. Check it out when you get a chance! The experience is upscale and elegant.

The afternoon tea experience here was beautiful and chic, but worth $125 per person? No. I will say the Dior tea sets were absolutely gorgeous and the ambiance felt very upscale. The tea sandwiches were pretty basic, however there were a few standouts on the tiered tray. We really loved the panna cotta and a few of the pastries. However... the scones were abominable. Perhaps the worst scones we've ever had at an afternoon tea. They were tiny and felt more like popovers, but with a hard outside and tiny area for jam. (Personally I am also not a fan of orange marmalade as an option for jam.) It also felt strange to have to ask for milk and sugar, instead of being asked if we wanted any with our tea. Unfortunately, not our favorite afternoon tea experience--especially not for the price.

Lovely Atmosphere. Very nice treats. Very attentive service. Is it expensive? Yes. But well worth the treat. We enjoyed it fully.

Today I enjoyed the Lily of the Valley afternoon tea at Majorelle. We were seated in the gorgeous indoor garden and the ambiance, attentive service and overall elegance made this a one of a kind experience. I ordered their recommended Jardin Bleu tea, a black tea with strawberry and rhubarb, and was certainly not disappointed! I actually finished my pot of tea and they kindly brought me another. Now onto the tower. One of the servers thoroughly explained everything in front of us and advised on their recommended order. The bottom tier was traditional tea sandwiches. The curry chicken and deviled egg were my favorites. Next we enjoyed the top tier with a pineapple, coconut and vanilla panna cotta cup and puff with custard, cream and raspberry hibiscus jam. Then our warm scones (plain and raisin) arrived with homemade orange marmalade, raspberry jam and clotted cream, and by that point we were feeling full and didn't finish the remaining sweets. I would certainly return to enjoy this afternoon tea experience again!

Really great afternoon tea with a huge spread of sandwiches and dessert options. Tea options are also great. Staff are very friendly. Would recommend (if you can) to sit in the outdoor garden area, only 3 tables! Make reservations :)

The Dior Lily of the Valley High Tea here is exquisite. The sweet and savory handhelds are very delicious -- I had no qualms about anything that was served and it was presented beautifully. All on Dior china, as well. The ambiance is stunning -- you feel like you're in a quaint little spot in Paris, quiet and private, when you're in the bustling city. The staff is so friendly and attentive. My recommended tea of choice: Jardin Bleu tea - blend of black teas from Cylon and China mixed with rhubarb and wild strawberry.

This is a wonderful choice for a birthday celebration dinner, or any occasion you want to enjoy good food in relaxed elegance and endearing charm.

I had the Lily of the Valley afternoon tea. The staff were warm and attentive, the ambiance was elegant and charming, and the presentation of the afternoon tea was exquisite. My favorite was the parfait, and the sandwiches were also quite good. The tea drinks weren't particularly outstanding, but they weren't bad either. Overall, the afternoon tea service was excellent, the experience was fantastic, and it was great value for money. The takeaway tea boxes were also super cute. I'm sure you'll love it too!

Located in the UES next to a hotel, this place felt very intimate and cozy. We were seated outside in the back which we absolutely loved, especially since we were surrounded by what looked like small orange trees ‍ you can also just smell the flowers throughout the place. Staff was very attentive and provided outstanding service (didn't like the crab risotto and he changed it immediately to my liking which was the monkfish - wish I remembered his name). They have a prix fixe menu and we ordered the 2 course ($145) instead of the 3 as we weren't craving dessert. Food was interesting and asparagus soup was delicious given it was my first time. Definitely worth visiting if you're in the mood for some French food.

Majorelle is majorly delicious. It's also majorly high end, mind you, but in white table cloth, huge sprays of flowers way that makes you feel special on your birthday. Standout dishes included the Scallop started in bechamel on the half shell and the duck. The poached lobster salad was excellent but not unusual in any way.

Excellent place, located in the upper east side on a very cute block underground next to a hotel , made a reservation for dinner and they were gracious enough to wait for us since we were about 30 minutes late , the place is very elegant and classic , and once she dress well , the service is outstanding and so is the food ,it is expensive and they had a set menu which is not my favorite and not good for customers , was for about $150 per person and after you add the drinks, the bill comes closer to $500 for 2, It was worth it and I will be coming back. The host comes and takes your order and he was very French and very professional. He also recommended we pre-order the soufflé which we did , and it was excellent.

Although I would've preferred to have been seated away from a family with 3 loud, ill-behaved kids, it was still a nice cozy table. On our table we found a nice Happy Anniversary card, which was very sweet! Our server Selma L. greeted us warmly and with a smile. Selma L. was very knowledgeable and helpful with the menu and remained very available and checked in on us often throughout our meal. I knew I wanted the Escargots en Persillade(my favorites!), and we paired them with Mushroom&Ricotta ravioli, and the Branzino. Every dish was perfectly paired with sauces and flavors blended well together. The Branzino skin was perfectly crispy, the potatoes were a little softer than I'd personally like but were still tasty. We made sure to save room for dessert and I'm so glad we did. We tried the chocolate lava cake and the cheesecake and were gifted two glasses of dessert wine and truffles. Everything is made from scratch, in-house. The New York cheesecake stood out ahead of the lava cake but I would order both again. This restaurant is perfectly situated to accommodate you for a pre-show dinner, and offer discounted meals starting at 8pm-close. We'd definitely return to try other menu items, and enjoy another date night, albeit not surrounded by kids!!!

This visit was a frustrating exception. The app activated the swipe button shortly after 5PM -- which Maman and several other stores have recently started allowing as an early pickup signal. I went to the store accordingly. The young male Hispanic employee at the register refused to hand over my bag, insisting the pickup window didn't start until 5:15. All the bags were already packed and ready. There were no other customers in line. I tried to explain how the app works and that early pickup had been allowed here before, but he repeatedly cut me off. At one point I said "if you want to play by the book, so be it" -- meaning it as a neutral acknowledgment. He took offense, raised his voice, and kept repeating "I don't play, you play" in an increasingly hostile tone. I asked if he understood the expression. He just kept repeating "I don't play." When I asked to speak with a manager, he said there wasn't one. When I asked what a customer is supposed to do when there's a problem with an employee, he told me to come back tomorrow and talk to him. This was completely avoidable. The bags were ready. It was a 5-10 minute window, allowed by the app. The confrontation served no purpose. I noticed the review posted the day before mine mentions "poor customer service at the register" -- I suspect we encountered the same person. Maman has a good reputation worth protecting. I'd encourage management to review this interaction and make sure this particular staff is trained properly.

I went with the $35 lunch special, which gets you an appetizer and an entrée. For my app, the Escargots de Bourgogne- absolutely the star of the meal, I could've eaten a second order. The Crêpe Forestière for my entrée was lovely too, and I washed it all down with a lemonade. Everything was genuinely delicious. My one small gripe: I got charged for two lemonades, which stung a little given that (a) it's lemonade, and (b) the glass was on the petite side to begin with. Minor quibble, though. Other than that, it was a perfect NYC lunch, exactly what I was hoping for.

While the French Onion soup was still a stand-out dish, the painfully slow service detracted. There appeared to be a single waitress working. I didn't notice during my first visit if there were multiple servers, but the first time I did hear the waiter advise another table that the kitchen was behind and there would be a wait for food. (This didn't affect me since on my first visit I only ordered soup.) Same thing happened this time, and there was a significant delay between our soup/salad course and entrees. We were told the kitchen was backed up. this is apparently the norm. For appetizers, the French onion soup was a gold star dish. My friend had the goat cheese salad which she said was also very good. The Chicken Cordon Bleu was good, and a hard-to-find dish in NYC. While eating our entrees, the server never checked on how things were or if we needed anything. Once finished, we sat there for a long time waiting for our plates to be cleared, and finally had to "announce" that we were done and request our dessert (as we had ordered the prix fixe menu). For dessert we ordered the Dame Blanche and Profiteroles. I would recommend neither. The ice cream (in both) was poor quality, crystallized and not creamy. A real shame. In all, the meal too 2.5 hours due to the slow service. The soup remains fantastic. I'm downgrading my review to recommend this spot only for soup and salad and not a full, hours-long meal. For that, it's 5 stars, for a full meal a middling 3.
