We went to the Lily Tea for lunch on a Friday and it was such a nice experience. The staff was really attentive the whole time without being over the top. Everything felt very intentional--the space was clean, beautifully decorated, and you could tell they pay attention to even the smallest details. Honestly, it almost felt a little intimidating in a good way... like I can't picture actually staying in a hotel like that because everything just felt so polished. There were fresh flowers everywhere and the whole place had this light floral, clean smell that I really liked. One thing I will say--I kind of wish I had dressed up a bit more because it definitely has that kind of vibe. The bathrooms weren't super convenient to get to, but they were really nice, clean, and private. The signature tea was really good--I think it was rhubarb? Booked this as a Friday lunch while in NYC. I'm going to other tea places, this one was billed as the best and most sought-after option in NY. Located off Park Ave, we booked the Afternoon of the Lily Tea. We did the base model which comes with a pot per person, and a tower of sandwiches and scones etc. The thing about this that made it full-service was the intimate care and explanation the staff gave for everything and how it relates to Christian Dior. As an English person living in the States, I'm on a perpetual quest for proper afternoon tea and the Lowell consistently delivers (believe me I've tried them all). They offer well prepared and delicious sandwiches, intricate pastries, and an acceptable scone (though serving with marmalade is a bit odd). I have had tea here twice and dinner once. The tea service in particular stands out: it is such a lovely setting for it in the covered indoor garden area and also given the quality of the presentation and food itself. The tea sandwiches were pretty basic, however there were a few standouts on the tiered tray. We really loved the panna cotta and a few of the pastries. However... the scones were abominable. Perhaps the worst scones we've ever had at an afternoon tea. They were tiny and felt more like popovers, but with a hard outside and tiny area for jam. (Personally I am also not a fan of orange marmalade as an option for jam.) It also felt strange to have to ask for milk and sugar, instead of being asked if we wanted any with our tea. Today I enjoyed the Lily of the Valley afternoon tea at Majorelle. We were seated in the gorgeous indoor garden and the ambiance, attentive service and overall elegance made this a one of a kind experience. I ordered their recommended Jardin Bleu tea, a black tea with strawberry and rhubarb, and was certainly not disappointed! I actually finished my pot of tea and they kindly brought me another. Now onto the tower. One of the servers thoroughly explained everything in front of us and advised on their recommended order. The bottom tier was traditional tea sandwiches. The curry chicken and deviled egg were my favorites. Next we enjoyed the top tier with a pineapple, coconut and vanilla panna cotta cup and puff with custard, cream and raspberry hibiscus jam. Then our warm scones (plain and raisin) arrived with homemade orange marmalade, raspberry jam and clotted cream, and by that point we were feeling full and didn't finish the remaining sweets. October 2025, I arranged for my mom and I to have the afternoon tea at Majorelle after extensive research for NYC tea options. The highlight of any afternoon tea is the clotted cream and this day the clotted cream was OFF! Yes! It's almost unbelievable and so, so disappointing. The clotted cream's outer layer at Majorelle had gone bad. It was dished up early, perhaps even leftover from the day before, and the outer layer was BAD! Sour and off. The center was all right, but you can't very well separate the two, so with each bite I anticipated an improvement and with each bite I was disappointed. Serving OLD CLOTTED CREAM for any reason is unacceptable. Majorelle should be embarrassed. I didn't want to spoil the occasion, although in retrospect I have so many regrets that I should have said something immediately. That is my mistake. I think I was in shock. We finished tea and I privately mentioned the situation to the head waitstaff. She apologized, said she would mention it to the kitchen, but no offer of any other consolation. I must now agree with the reviews that say this is an overvalued, overpriced afternoon tea. I would like the opportunity to have a different experience, but at $350, I will not be paying to try again. There are so many options in NYC, try somewhere else. Sadly.......... read more

My bestie and I saw this place on Tiktok and wanted to come here for the high tea. The place is inside The Lowell Hotel and it is super cozy and the service is amazing. All the staff is so friendly and helpful. We decided to go with the Lily of the Valley afternoon tea set. The tea set is $125 per person and you do get to pick your choice of black / green or herbal tea. It comes with fresh scones, sandwiches and sweets on top of that. We decided to pick one of their signature black teas which was delicious with sugar. Their sandwiches are so good - my favorite was the smoked salmon one for sure. Their scones were also delicious - the devonshire cream and raspberry marmalade went so well with the fresh scones. The sweets were just alright for us - but honestly we are not huge sweets people and they were slightly too sweet for us. The vibes were so cozy and everyone was so friendly and helpful. They did refill out tea one and it is such a cute place to have a date or a nice girl's brunch. It's a hotel restaurant, eponymous with Marjorelle Garden in Marrakesh, Morocco. The Garden was created by French artist Jacques Majorelle and is now a museum. The restaurant is really expensive, the service is stuffy, the food and drinks are not really worth it. The crowd is Madison Avenue, which makes sense giving the location but unless you HAVE TO dine in the area, I would head down to Lex or 3rd for a much tastier and much more affordable fair or across the park to the west side. It's located at the Lowell hotel, which does have nice decor and a working fire place with a great selection of black and white photographs gracing its walls but i still don't think its worth the price for $25 half a cup of soup or $17 olives with oversalted almonds and stale potato chips. It's quite a pleasant place in terms of decor and seating but we prepared to pay $15 for a tea and $40 for a salad. read more

We were seated outside in the back which we absolutely loved, especially since we were surrounded by what looked like small orange trees ‍ you can also just smell the flowers throughout the place. Staff was very attentive and provided outstanding service (didn't like the crab risotto and he changed it immediately to my liking which was the monkfish - wish I remembered his name). They have a prix fixe menu and we ordered the 2 course ($145) instead of the 3 as we weren't craving dessert. Food was interesting and asparagus soup was delicious given it was my first time. Hosted a tea party here to propose to my bridesmaids. Everything was amazing. The food, the service, the ambiance all were amazing. The servers were all helpful and explained the menu very nicely. There were two girls in my party with allergies. One with a shellfish, the other with a citrus allergy. They were able to modify their teas and food trays to accommodate their allergies which I found to be amazing. I was running late and had to push my reservation a half hour back and they accommodated us with no problems. Excellent place, located in the upper east side on a very cute block underground next to a hotel , made a reservation for dinner and they were gracious enough to wait for us since we were about 30 minutes late , the place is very elegant and classic , and once she dress well , the service is outstanding and so is the food ,it is expensive and they had a set menu which is not my favorite and not good for customers , was for about $150 per person and after you add the drinks, the bill comes closer to $500 for 2, It was worth it and I will be coming back. We went to this very charming and intimate restaurant for the Lily of The Valley Dior Tea. Through August, it's a BOGO!  We sat at one of the 4 tables in their enclosed and air-conditioned patio with a view of the dining room in front of us and a fountain and plants behind us. The tea service was excellent.  Our server was well versed on the Dior connection, ingredients, and cocktails. The cocktails are expensive, well balanced, and delicious. Our favorite items from the tea service were the raspberry and lemon merengue tarts. The scones were warm, but not my preferred recipe.  These were more like small dense rolls rather than flaky biscuits. First of all, the service was excellent and unmatched. Our server was very attentive and knowledgeable, and we received an authentic french experience! We went on a Friday for a three course meal, and it exceeeded our expectations! There were at least eight options per course, which allowed for a wide variety (but unfortunately we all had similar taste) The soup du jour when we went was a cold asparagus soup (which was very refreshing) and the oysters were fresh and the freshly Shaven horseradish was delicious and the condiments were delightful. I was given a warm dish of water to clean my hands after enjoying my oysers, which I have never encountered before. A certainly lovely and high end touch. The maitre d suggested a beautiful wine that went well with all of our entrees. The duck we ordered medium rare, was cooked to perfection and went nicely with the peaches! Amuse-Bouche was insanely flavorful. We had the Grilled Octopus & Burrata for starters. Octopus was flavorful and cooked perfectly. The Burrata was creamy. Our entrees we had the Duck Breast with Porcini Mushrooms & Filet and finished with dessert the Soufflé with Grand Marnier Crème Anglaise. My husband is a Chef so when we dine out it has to be top notch for him to be impressed and we were both extremely happy with our dining experience. This was a special big splurge celebration for us Service was outstanding, place was beautiful but meal was mediocre ( actually Bad considering the high prices). The duck- touted as one of their best dishes-- was beautifully plated and the ducked looked good but TASTELESS!! So much so that my partner who prefers mild dishes swapped with me, but he also thought it excessively bland. His lamb dish was better but only basically on par with that served at good ethnic restaurants. Other objections/negatives were the overwhelming aroma of the giant flower arrangement next to our table and the large number of stairs particularly to the restrooms. Unless there is an alternative restroom or route somewhere - this is not an accessible restaurant not just for wheelchairs or walkers but also persons needing a cane or even just having trouble climbing flights of stairs. This was to be a very special dinner but unfortunately turned out to be one I will remember for the Wrong Reasons. read more

Very high ends French restaurant with an excellent service. Alot of the workers there who you would interact with are French (yes, even with the accent). Although no formal dress code is enforced, I recommend you wear something very nice; if for nothing else, you will feel more comfortable as everyone else does. The music in the background is very light and low in volume. This gives the place a much more cozier and intimate feel. The food is excellent; both the presentation and taste. Between us we had their complimentary Amuse Bouche (small bite) of a zucchini cake with caviar: a nice bite, very good soupe du jour - a delicious celery root soup: very good, nicely creamy and hot Fois gras: good, not exceptional but the strawberry accompaniment was excellent Rib eye special with béarnaise & ratatouille: very good, medium rare executed perfectly Filet mignon au poivre with spinach & fries: one of the best filet mignon I have ever had. Delicious sauce and excellent fries. Mousse au chocolat: decadent and delicious but just way too much. Came with grand marnier whipped cream - yum! I had the most delightful birthday dinner here. From the moment we walked in we were treated like royalty. Since we arrived early for our reservation, the host sat as at a cute table in the bar area and let us review the menu and offered us drinks while we waited. We were sat soon after in the dining room with a perfect view of their exquisite floral display. We went with the 3-course menu: appetizer, entree, and dessert, paired with a bottle of red. My selection: tuna tartare, filet mignon, and grand marnier soufflé. The tuna was fresh and delicious. The filet mignon was so tender it melted in my mouth. The little potatoes it came with were a nice pairing. I wasn't a huge fan of the soufflé, so I traded it for my boyfriend's chocolate mousse.
