Never, ever use Majic Window for window replacement! Windows were ordered on August 17. Final measurement was late October. Windows arrived Dec. 13, scheduled for install this morning Dec. 26)... The call came in at 9:15 this morning: the color coil for the exterior aluminum hasn't arrived from the supplier! You would think - - that an order placed in AUGUST would've been PLENTY of time to get a roll of colored aluminum. - that when you schedule an install, it's because all the parts and pieces you need have arrived. - that 16+ weeks is plenty of time, when you were promised a 10-12 week wait. - that 15 minutes before they were to arrived for install is too late to let a customer know they should NOT have moved their heavy furniture, or removed all their draperies. And, if you try their FB page and say anything negative, they will delete your post and comments and restrict your access to the page (not just myself, but the woman who inquired about MW, then posted a month later that since she got no response they went with another company) I know this is the only place to buy fiberglass windows, but it's not worth feeling sucker-punched by a company with a monopoly. Get the best wood or vinyl you can and avoid Majic Window at all cost. read more

So I have a door hanger for Majic - a local company just a couple miles from the house. I call to request an estimate for a new roof and I am motivated to start as soon as I can find a reasonable deal and respectable contractor. I work from the home. My wife works outside of the home. Majic refuses to come give me an estimate unless both my wife and I are involved. They lie that it is a legal requirement -- but it really is only a sales tactic to close a deal on the spot and minimize price comparison. There is no such requirement that prevents a homeowner from getting estimates. Hang up on them -- their interests are not to your benefit. read more

Magic came highly recommended from a friend who had used them for multiple projects at her home. Salesman came. I immediately told him from the beginning of his sales pitch that I was getting quotes. He was the first and I would not be making a decision on the spot. He goes over all details. Gives me the quote and then the pressure tactics begin. I was told "get off the fence and make a decision I have a family to feed". Needless to say he was asked to leave the premises immediately. As he was leaving more snarky comments made. Told the friend who referred. She called Magic to voice her displeasure on how I was treated. I received a call 3 weeks later with a promise of a phone call the following week to reschedule with another salesperson. Yes well I'm still waiting on that call. Magic may have exceptional products but their customer service leaves something to be desired. If you can get past rude and clearly unhappy with their job employees then go for it. I for one will say no thanks and send my business elsewhere. read more

Shady selling process: We had Majic come out and provide a quote on new doors and windows, and the salesman told us that the total cost would be $120,000. We told him that we'd think about it and get back to him, and he refused to leave. He continued to knock the price down and eventually said he was able to get us a price 'better than the Manager's special', and settled with $32,000. We still told him we'd think about it, and he said that if we didn't get back with him that day, we would miss out on the deal. Additionally, he took all the paperwork with him where he wrote down the prices. This shows they don't value their product and are trying to price gouge. We went with Wallside Windows who provided a price a lot lower than the $32,000 with no negotiations and couldn't be happier. Anyone else having a similar experience please share. read more

Based on my experience trying to schedule a technician to come out to look at a possible leaky window, I would not place much value on the "lifetime warranty" (on the fiberglass windows) from Majic. What good is a "lifetime warranty" if the tech is a No Show twice in a row ? P.S. the fiberglass windows we got did work well for over 10 years without any issue. I cannot be sure that the water leakage is due to the windows, but I would have given more stars if Majic were able to send someone to help confirm the issue at our house. read more

We have been over 10 months trying to get our walk in bath shower repaired under warrantee. The Shower was installed May 2019 and the floor pan separated after three months of use. Magic Window Wixom MI always has an excuse on why they can not come to do the work. Calling them I think they recognize your phone number so you always need to leave a voice mail for which they hardly ever return a call. I went to their office once to talk to them and promises were made and never kept. I would not recommend them! The materials use must be inferior due to the failing in such a short period. I do not think a lawyer can help as they may cost as much as it would be for me to hire another contractor to do the replacement. Save a headache and do not call these people for an estimate. read more

I strongly encourage you to get additional quotes. Majic's sales tactics are aggressive and they will push you hard to sign on the spot, promising some amazing deal. Our initial quote was 94,000. Five minutes later they said with promotions it would be 62,000. 30 minutes later they told us if we signed immediately they could do it for 31,000. Then we had them break it up to less than 1/3 of the windows and it came out to 15,000. Details were completely missing. Seemed to be pulling numbers out of the air. My wife and I asked for 3 days to research market costs and that is when it got extremely weird. The sales manager suggested we shouldn't do business with him because we don't trust him. He literally packed his things up and never even said good-bye as he stormed out of the house. This was the most unprofessional sales experience I've ever had in my life. The product itself appeared to be good. However, I would have fired this sales manager on the spot for his behavior. My wife was literally shaking 20 minutes after he left. I cannot encourage you enough to be laser focused on the math for the quote you receive. Have them itemize window/installation costs and explain why 0 percent financing fluctuates so much with the length of the term. To be clear I am an extremely reasonable person that happens to be good at math. I encourage you to resist the temptation to sign immediately. Get multiple quotes that use the same type of material and make your decision from there. read more

We initially bought a bay window... We initially bought a bay window replacement, since I like fiberglass over vinyl. Install and product went good. Ordered later a few more, including slider. Quality (hinges, handles) lower (admitted they don't make the 'good' ones anymore). Service right after was good (quite a few things and several visits). Replaced ALL other windows a while later. All together ca. $25,000 Salesmen always follow up nicely, and if anything needs to done; mentioned the few smaller things, but offered to wait to combine service. Called now that another handle broke (they are ALL junk plastic), and initial defect from installation (inside corner cut into seal, ripped) needs to be done. Now (Install 2/2010) they demand $75 service charge for their lifetime warranty. Conclusion: lots of effort on high pressure sales, lots of effort to 'upsell' (at least 10 calls to sell from vinyl siding to insulation to gutters). ZERO, NADA, NO service once they are 'done' with you. Make sure to call them EVERY MONTH during their '2 year' after the sale, even if the window just needs a drop of oil. read more

If I had it to do all over again, I would not use this Company. We have now waited over 2 months to get some damaged door wall handles replaced and service will never call us back. We also have a cracked window - stress cracks - and again, no call backs when we leave messages for service. What good is a lifetime warranty if your service requests are ignored?? I am a homeowner and not a competitive company. Do your homework before making any purchase. UPDATE - I guess I finally found the right way to make contact with Magic. I was contacted early this AM about my issues and promised action. We will see. Magic will also check into the reason my phone messages were ignored. I need to write up the good along with the bad so everyone can make their best decisions. UPDATE - It's 4 months since my last update. Communication is still bad but my window and door wall latch have finally been replaced. The Company says they are working to make improvements. We now have the Company GM as our main contact. The windows are good. This winter was a great test. BUT even though the windows are good I don't think they are worth the money especially when you cannot count on top of the line service. Hmmm is a mix feeling to review them... I have my whole house windows replaced by Majic. I love my new windows. The quality is very good. The installation crew is professional. But I don't like their sales technique because they are very pushy. Our sales guy literally gives us less than 10 minutes to decide on the spot because he said if he walk out the house, the quote won't be valid aka we will pay full price. I feel like they mark up their price super high and give a 50% off to make it sounds like a super sweet deal. After the "awesome discount", I think the price we paid was okay, not a deal or anything crazy. The reason we chose Majic because we want the good fiberglass (Inline) windows that will last a long time and their warranty is good. So, my suggestion is do your homework. Ask yourself do you want fiberglass or vinyl windows. Have couple companies that have good reputation to come and quote first before Majic so if you end up like us have to decide on the spot, you are not panicking. And Compare their warranties, service fee..etc. P/S: Once you sign the paperwork with Majic, you have 3 business days to cancel. read more

No return telephone calls! My order was supposed to be in beginning of October, I called to see where they were at (twice), to the order department. After the third day I called our sales rep, so he could look into it for me, and call me back. He didn't call back either! I waited about a week, and called back again, again, no return phone calls. I finally managed to work my way around their phone system, and got an actual person! Come to find out, my order would not be in until the following month. When the installers did not show up on time, I called again....and worked my way around their phone system again, and asked what was up. "Oh, they grabbed the wrong order, and were almost all the way out there, and had to turn around". 3 hours PAST their scheduled arrival time, they finally showed up. They did do a good job installing our new sliding door wall. We are a repeat customer, they have a good product, but their customer service STINKS! Expensive too! read more

I am glad to see that so many of Majic Window's shops have closed, including both in Ann Arbor. Don't go near Majic Windows with a 10-foot pole. After weeks of looking for replacement windows that matched the old ones in my historic home, and weeks of stalling on a contract with Majic windows because they didn't have them either, I finally did sign a contract for new windows. A week later, I did find exactly what I wanted, the genuine french-door-type windows rather than windows with cheap flat cross pieces stuck over them, in Chelsie. Lo and behold, the Majic guy soon called and needed yet another signature. When he arrived to get it, I told him what I had found. With the speed of lightning he stopped talking about the quality of his windows and started threatening me. "There is NO WAY you are going to get out of this contract...We have a big law firm that would just love to [pause]..that has sued many people for breach of contract and would be happy to sue you..." etc. Faced with a lawsuit by a big company which I cannot afford, I signed. About a week later I wrote to Majic's customer service, explaining the whole situation as above. I was writing into a black hole...I never got a response, and I never got a copy of what I had written. Now the windows have arrived, and Majic is calling me to come and install them. I don't want them, haven't wanted them since a week after I ordered them, when I discovered how full the salesman was of hot air. I don't know how this story will end; at least I can delay installation. If anyone knows of any recourse, I would love to hear about it. read more

I had Majic Windows install siding in 2016. I am pleased with the materials and the workmanship. However, a piece fell off the spring of 2018 and I have been calling their hotline every week for 4 months and nobody has called me back or come out to fix it. This is very stressful and frustrating when you call and nobody answers the phone, and you only can leave a message. I would go with another company that has better customer service and repairs. read more

I set up the presentation the day before for just myself, however when the man came and saw my Fiance working outside he refused to give me a quote unless my Fiance could listen to the quote and presentation. First I set up the appointment and told them no one else would be present, second I carved out time in my day to sit and listen to his presentation and then once he got here he wouldn't give me a quote because I need a man to make a decision? He said I couldn't get discounts if he wasn't there, then went on to say it was "required" he spoke with both of us. This is truly insulting and demeaning to me as a woman. We needed a quote, set up an appointment, waited around, they called one hour before and told us " if everyone that lived in the house wasn't there at the time of sales pitch "I'm not wasting my time by coming out" The home owner was there -the one that would write the check, they obviously don't need any business. Magic Window was suppose to come out and give us an estimate. Unfortunately, I couldn't make the appointment due to an accident and being pregnant. I left my husband and sole owner of our house at home with our two kids to meet the guy. My husband said the guy who came out was nice and understanding and they talked for a little bit. However, after that his boss Tom call my husband and proceeded to yell at him about how we both were suppose to be there and if we couldn't make it then we should have called. Now I completely understand why they want us both there, but calling us to ream my husband out about how we didn't call you during our medical emergency is beyond ridiculous. My husband was still here to meet the estimate guy and he is the only one on the title/montage so he was fully capable of making any decisions. It was completely unprofessional and added to a day that was already stressful. In the future we will not be going with a company that employs people who lack basic empathy. Stay away! read more

My wife and I am in the market for new windows. Got an estimate from another company earlier today (Oct 4, 2016) and have another company stopping by on Wednesday. It just so happened that a guy from Majic stopped by and asked it we were considering windows. I said yes - and he started to set up an appointment. He got all the info from us that he needed then said, I needed to talk to his boss (crew chief). I did wonder why - but agreed to talk with him. Dave insisted that both my wife and I be home when they arrive - a practice that is unacceptable in today's time. When I shared that and explained that I travel some, he simply hung the phone up..no goodbye, no anything. We will chose our windows this week - definitely will not be Majic. This company is very expensive, but our windows were installed quickly, and look great! The people who install them are contractors... they don't actually work for Majic, and the guys we had were great. The windows definately block heat and UV rays from coming in through the glass like the salesman said...so much so that my plants on the window ledge died because they weren't getting any of those rays anymore. My only complaints are that first of all, they really put on the show with their high-pressure salesmen. You basically better have your checkbook ready, or be prepared for him to never leave. Second, after the sale and installation, you can look forward to constant phone calls trying to sell you more of their products and services... VERY ANNOYING! I had to put a number block on my house and cell phones because this guy could not take a hint! More high pressure sales pitches for stuff you don't want (or you would call them instead of vice versa). If we ever decide to get the other two windows and two sliding glass doors done, we will probably go with a company that doesn't hound you for more business. My brother got new windows that also look great (from another company), but were significantly less expensive, and no annoying sales calls after the project was done. In summary, 2 thumbs up for the windows and installation, but 2 thumbs down for being expensive and a pain in the butt by badgering me constantly. read more

Rip off!!! November 2013 we had Majic contracted to remove mold (using a fogger) in the attic and blow in Owens fiber glass, along with adding ridge vents in the soffits. Today I am having my roof torn apart, because mold returned due to inadequate ventilation. It was time for a new roof anyway (shingles), but the OSB wood in the front of our house (1,100 sq ft) could not be saved. The contractor I'm using took pics of the attic to show the the insulation was never blown in where the roof meets the soffits (Ceiling drywall was still exposed), and the baffles used in the attic we sub-par (incorrect length). Also, insulation was blown into the baffles clogging them up. So here we sit, paid $6,600, over 8K after interest, only to have the attic redone. Thanks Majic. I'm hiring Attic Pros, who will come in and install 46" width 6' long baffles ($168), fix the soffit intake vents ($631), cell foam the entire attic filling in penetration areas where air is leaking into the attic ($1,276). Then they come in in hazmat suits to scrub and clean any remaining mold ($1,185 ) and spray a mold inhibitor ($340) to ensure it never comes back. Little better than a fogger. Then for $755 they add additional cellulose (not fiberglass) to make our attic R-49. Total...$4,355...done the right way! FYI, our attic/roof is 2200 sq ft. If Majic calls, do your own magic and disappear. read more

Majic is by far the worst company I have had the misfortune of using,ever! The quality of the window does not justify using this company. There are other fiberglass manufacturers out there. All the bad reviews here start with the very pushy salesman and I wish I had let that be my for shadowing in my dealings with this company. I have endured 6 months of majics abuse and still don't have my windows ( they had to come out 3 different times for measurements of 2 of my special order windows, all at my expense do to time lost at work.). The sliding glass doors screen they did install will not close do to improper installation (I've included a picture just tap on my profile). The worst part is I told the installer before he was finished with the install and he chose to ignore me. Two of my windows would not go in due to improper measurements. They had to send out Someone again for a second measure. A month and a half go buy no call or windows. So I call the front office and they inform me they have no idea what is going on and that they now had to come out a third time to template the windows. 1 month later no windows no call. So I call the front office only to have them go unanswered. So when I finally had my fill and fired them. They are now suing my family of 4. ( 2 young kids). Once you sign on the doted line with these guys you have signed away your rights. Run do not walk far away from majic windows. If you still invite this terrible company in your house. Remember how these reviews start with the pushy sales man and think really hard before you sign the dotted line. read more

I am very unhappy with Majic Window I had siding put on my house the siding is puling back from the corner channel. I have called 7 times 6 of those times I got a machine that told me to leave a message and they would get back with me. They did not get back with me. The 7 time I got a person who said I had the wrong department and she would connect me to the right one a man answered and told me I had the wrong department and he would transfer me to the right place. The phone rang and it was an answering machine and told me leave a message and they would get back with me. So far that has not happened. read more

We had a cold caller come by the house and while we were not actively looking for windows we obliged. When the sales man came in, he was immediately confrontational with my girlfriend. We listened to his sales pitch in which he quoted us almost $57k. As we talked the price went to 35, 29 and then 20k. He started to play word games about "open minded" and "today" as if I was going to jump up and make a $20k decision in the matter of minutes. At one point he made the comment that if he walked away our deal with Majic would be done. Like it was now or never. I decided, that I was not ready to make the decision yet. He promptly grabbed his things, and walked out the door. No handshake, no "Thank you for your time", nothing. At this point I would avoid this company due to their hard sell tactics. Be careful when dealing with their sales people. I did not approach them, they cold called me. read more

My husband and I had a terrible experience with Majic Window at our cottage. We walked the representative through the house, showed him what we wanted, and he showed us his product. It took a little over an hour, we liked the product, and we were very interested in purchasing 9 windows from them. We then sat down at the dining room table to talk about price. The Majic representative wrote down the basic information on the back of his worksheet and said that "his guys" would normally quote our job at $19,751. He then asked what we thought we would spend on the job and we told him we thought we would spend around $15,000. He then said that because he really wanted our business, he was willing to go down to $14,450. He then asked about the other quote we had received, for a very similar product. We told him it was around $12,500. He then said that he was going to give us a one-time only price offer of $12,850 - that this is the price he would give his family, that it was the lowest price we would ever get - BUT, that we had to sign up on the spot. At this point, we were still very interested in the product, but were not willing to commit to anything. We not only had another contractor coming, but we wanted to talk about it and do some research on the various companies we had narrowed it down to. We told him we needed time to think about it and that we would like to get back to him in a few days. He got upset and said that no, the price was only good if we signed up on the spot. We asked what price we would get if we decided to go with his product in a few days and he shook his head no and said that we could not go with his company unless we decided to do so right then. That we either had to sign up on the spot or forget about it. He then went on to explain that this is the way his company operates - that they are able to give special incentives but only if people sign up on the spot - otherwise, they would waste a lot of time making repeated visits and calls to people who weren't interested. He essentially walked out in a huff and said something along the lines of it being our loss. I am a reasonable person and I understand pressured sales techniques. I even understand offering a special price for people to sign up on the spot. But I have three problems with how all of this happened: 1. I don't feel like I should have to "bargain" for something as important as a $15,000 investment in our home. For the price to drop from $19,751 to $14,450 to $12,850 within a ten minute time span - all based on the answers we gave him about our expectations and our other quotes - it's insulting and unfair. Would the price have dropped that low if we had given different answers? Would it have dropped even lower? Who knows - the company's pricing scheme is obviously completely at the whim of the sales person, or so it seems. 2. I think it is ridiculous to expect that we would make a $12,850 investment in our home without having time to think about it - to jump on it because of the pressure instead of being able to weigh all of our options and do the research. While I understand offering a special incentive for signing up on the spot, I think it's unethical to only offer an on the spot option. After spending 90 minutes with him, he offered NO option for us to move forward with his company??? That's not right. 3. If that technique is, in fact, the only way they do business, I think they should tell people that ahead of time. If they would have told us that the only way we would be able to purchase their product would be if we were ready to commit on the spot, we never would have wasted our time with an appointment. We knew we had other contractors coming and we also knew that we were going to do research before making our final decision. Horrible company. Would not recommend. High pressure salesman. Ordered doors in Feb and still not installed. Called and they didn't call back. Got put on hold 2 min then hung up on several times. When finally got appt the installer then had car trouble and had to reschedule again. Complained to manager who sold us doors told he can't do anything about it and gave # to manager for doors. She didn't call back. I had to call her again. She basically told us she could only give us $100 back on $5000 worth of doors! yet, she said it is in computer all the complaints and problems we had. When I did not sign and asked a question about the warranty he said he did not have time to waste talking to me any further. i bought a house in 2015 with the condidtion that he would replce the windows with majic. and i was told by a majic window rep that the warranty was completly transferrible. that the warrantee went with the house not the owner.so after a couple years i started having problems and they sent a guy out who tried to see me 21.000 in siding.he left and said that someone would contac me about fixing the windows. now i have spent 3 years trying to get someone out and today they told me that there was a 35.00 transfer fee.so i said fine. i will pay you the 35.00 and you can come out and fix them.(since almost all of them are broke and the one in the kitchen has frost between the 2 panes of glass and you cant see out of it)and they said fine but i would have to pay for the parts. i now see that they moved to canada. i wonder why. dont buy or even go near majic windows read more
