I've been to other City Thrift stores that felt clean, organized, and affordable. This Shawnee City Thrift was the complete opposite of the others I've been to. The store was messy with shoes piled on top of clothing racks, usually mismatched with no sizing. A lot of the clothing also wasn't in the right sections, so good luck if you're actually trying to browse by size. On top of that, most of the signs on the racks were missing, so it was hard to even tell where anything was supposed to go. The pricing was the biggest shock. Items were insanely overpriced, even when they were clearly damaged. I saw a shirt marked $16 just because it was Calvin Klein. I understand the charity aspect but thrift stores are also supposed to be a place where people can buy donated clothes affordably, and these prices honestly felt kind of mean. There are also no dressing rooms, which I can understand for liability reasons but there was only one mirror in the whole store for everyone to share. If you're going to take away fitting rooms, at least add more mirrors. To top it off, the staff was rude. Every employee I interacted with seemed annoyed that I needed help, and it made the whole place feel even more unwelcoming. I'm giving 2 stars because I've enjoyed other locations and they do have a lot of inventory, However I don't plan on returning to this location.

So I looked through the various racks of clothing and women's purses, etc. I ended up purchasing two sport tank tops. One was a Nike and another one was an Eddie Bauer. After the 40% off, I believe my purchase came to around $12. They have a wide selection of clothing, but quite a few of it was not my style. I believe this shop is for women that are probably late 30s and older. I tend to buy more clothing that is current with the trends as long as they look nice on me and I only saw a few jeans and a couple shirts that looked a little bit more modern. The shop was busy and the sales lady was exceptional in helping anyone that needed it. I would say the reason I did not give it a five star, is that there were several shirts that I looked at and I was interested in but they had stains on them. The clothing looked clean and pressed, but they probably should not have accepted those items for resale. This is a resell women's clothing store. It seems like they have quite a few 40 to 50% off sales. When I was checking out, she was telling me that there was going to be a 50% off sale the next day.

The one thing that stands out about this thrift store is that they have three dressing room rooms to try on clothing. I have visited several large thrift stores recently and they do not offer a dressing room to even try on clothing. Their pricing is OK, they have various sales weekly on specific colored tag items. I would say that their pricing on clothing is just a little bit lower than the other larger thrift stores. They have a general variety of items like most thrift stores. The staff is always pleasant and helpful.

It's pretty small but they have good prices. I mostly go for the household items since most of the clothing has a tendency to be pretty outdated. They do have a HUGE HUGE furniture section. Well turns out I was speaking to a manager and since they felt the bracket was real they could not sale it , till a different manager looked it over. Waste of time , especially since I willing to purchase is it and brought it to there attention. They said they would call and let's be real, they won't cause that item will never see the floor for customers.

Usually if you go to a thrift store, the toy area is trashed from the kids playing with the toys. But they had the toys higher up on shelves and bagged with the pieces that go with the toys. So they actually had a better selection of toys because all the pieces are most pieces were intact. I ended up buying some toys there for my grandson and also some books. Their prices were good compared to other thrift stores. I did not look at the clothing prices which tend to be ridiculous at most thrift stores. We did not have to wait long at all to check out and the woman was friendly. I have been to the other Blessings Abound thrift store in Overland Park, but not this one.
