I took my two daughters for a half day of thrifting. We tried to go to the GW Bins and only found out after driving from Topeka that they don't allow kids under 14 years old according to the sign on the door. Disappointed we looked for a similar format and found this City Thrift Outlet/Bins store and had a blast with the by the pound clothing/fabric format. We spent about $65 and got a Sleep Number throw that weighed over 5lbs but retails for around 60-99 roughly that my daughter loves and we got some fun clothes for fall at great prices. Just washed and we're excited to wear/use our items! Books at $1 is great too.
Grace at the checkout was great. Personable and friendly, she complimented some of our selections, offered a rewards/points sign up, and was just all around good people. I will definitely go back when back in the area again, especially if I have my 9 & 13 year old with me.
I only took one star off as clothing was rather unsurprisingly dirty in some cases, with holes and stains. With this format I expected some of it. I really do appreciate that it was organized by fabrics, shoes, bags/hats, housewares, glass, and home goods. So, you knew you weren't going to stab yourself digging through some clothes and finding a knife set or something. Thanks City Thrift for organizing the bins! read more
