I am writing this review after my second time in a week visiting this wonderful establishment. Ya'll they have a drive thru!!! This is not only amazing, but it is perfect for those who are lazy (like me) and don't feel like getting out of the car on most days. The only gripe I have is that they close way too early at 3 PM. Please extend your hours! What I ordered (both trips): * Chile Relleno Scrambler Omelette PROMO. $12.99 (You must say PROMO when ordering to get the discounted price otherwise they will charge full price of $16.99) - Deliciousness Rating: 5/5 * Sides: Home Potatoes - 5/5; Single Pancake - 5/5 * Single Fish Taco with todo (all) toppings. $3.99 - Deliciousness Rating: 5/5 * Single French Toast (somehow I received 4 halves ‍). $3.99 - Deliciousness Rating: 5/5 * Chile Relleno Scrambler Omelette PROMO (again) but different sides this time. Still Delicious 5/5. * Sides: Hashbrowns (ordered crispy) - 4/5; Biscuits & Gravy - 4/5 * Chilaquiles with scrambled eggs and Ribeye steak for my choice of meat. $21.98 (add'l $5.99 charge for ribeye) - Deliciousness Rating: 4/5 * Sides: Refried beans - 3/5; Home Potatoes - 4/5 * Homemade Corn Tortillas (3). $2 - Deliciousness Rating: 5/5 There are so many delicious items on the menu that it is going to take me MULTIPLE trips to get through them all. I am going to try to get something different each time, but that Chile Relleno Omelette keeps calling me back every time. Just a few notes: * Ribeye was not worth the add'l charge. I requested Medium doneness and I got Well Done. There was NO seasoning on the steak--so very bland. The fat was not rendered at all which made it difficult to eat, because the fat was raw and uncooked. * I live very close to the restaurant and by the time I got home, the chilaquiles were already soggy, not one crispy chip in the box. I believe it was due to the hot eggs and the hot ribeye smashed on top of the chilaquiles which caused them to overheat and sweat. Either order and eat them inside or if ordering takeout, ask for your meat in a separate container. I do think these would be delicious fresh. * The chilaquiles do have pork in the sauce, which surprised me because it is usually a vegetarian dish. I should not have assumed that they did not have meat in them, so you should always ask. I believe they use the chile verde sauce for it. * Hashbrowns are not your typical diner style. The potato is chopped, not shredded, and are much softer than expected (like potatoes were steamed or boiled prior to cooking on flattop grill). I don't want to say like a mashed potato, but yeah more like a mashed potato. Very tasty and well seasoned though. Ask for it crispy or extra crispy depending on your preference. read more

Maiz Cafe is new to Rialto and honestly it deserves all the love. We stumbled in on a Sunday morning and left completely satisfied. We ordered the chilaquiles with ribeye steak, the French toast, and the pancake combo. Everything was cooked to order and tasted incredibly fresh. That ribeye on the chilaquiles? Generous, juicy, and packed with flavor. My daughters enjoyed their pancakes and bacon. It a little busy and the staff was clearly hustling, but our waiter stayed attentive and you could genuinely feel that they care about the people sitting at their tables. That kind of energy is hard to fake. Just heads up they only have a single restroom outside, but it was spotless, well stocked and recently remodeled. No complaints. Just had the menudo for the first time and let me tell you it didn't disappoint! My favorite part was the handmade tortillas. Hand made tortillas to it to another level. You must try!!! My other favorite thing is the fresh to order Agua frescas! They are all really good. Another great thing g is that they have a drive thru for those days you want to enjoy the food at home. My family and I went here and they loved everything they tried. The food is authentic, the service is amazing, and the vibes are very nice. You can tell it's a family restaurant because of how much they care for how you're treated and the quality of the food. Inside is very cozy, nice music, some sports going. If you're ever craving a delicious menudo, you must stop by. So many places get menudo wrong but wow this one was delicious. First time here. As I passed by, what captured me to stop and try Maíz Mexican Grill was seeing Josè, one of the managers, outside early tending to the upkeep of the restaurant grounds. This portrays pride in one's business. So, after picking my husband up from his truck oil change in the area, we stopped for breakfast. The cleanliness of the restaurant carries inside to a welcoming ambiance of lovely music. Jose was very kind and the food was wonderful! I had Huevos La mexicana with chorizo as my meat choice. It came with 3 scrambled eggs, mixed with veggies and cheese, choice of meat (I got the chorizo) a chile asada and beans, with a side of corn or flour tortillas. My husband had a chorizo burrito. I drive past this place almost every day and finally decided to pull in. Boy, am I glad I did! I ordered the chili verde plate. The chunks of pork were fall apart tender. The sauce was more on the creamy side? Not sure how to explain it but it for sure wasn't green sauce out of a can. The rice and beans were also on point! The beans were creamy with a sprinkling of cotija cheese. The rice while plain was flavorful. The kicker were the 3 homemade corn tortillas! Wrapped in foil, they were still hot when I got home. At first I was a little disappointed they were corn but now happy they were! Will definitely be going back. Only drawback is they close at 3pm now. read more

The food was slightly above average. I tried the chicken tacos and my girlfriend tried the steak bowl. The salas are average but the Habanero sauce was delightfully very spicy. I like spicy and if you do too, you will like it. I don't really care too much for their choice of music. It should be Mexican themed, just not what they had playing. read more

So I used to come here back when it was Jim's burgers or something like that... and I see that's where the bad reviews come here.. I wish it would restart for the new owner cause I LOVE THIS PLACE! They have possibly the best Aguas Fresca around my go to is the chilaquiles with birria or pastor so bomb! Get them every Sunday morning ... The staff are insanely nice people the gentleman and young lady. I always look forward to interacting with them. Breakfast burritos are fire too and the salsa! My food was not good the Chili verde was fatty hardly any meat. The rice has no flavor, the beans were okay. The birria had little flavor. The agua Fresca Pina was not flavorful and they will not offer you a refund they will ask if you want something else. Great Customer Service, but the food is not good unfortunately, the carne asada was way over cooked, the sauce for the wet burritos has a very strong pork flavor, very overwhelming, the chilaquiles are just chips and sauce on top, they were not even cooked properly, Honestly the food needs a lot of work. So I finally decided to try this place since I work in Rialto and see this place numerous times as I work. I ordered the Carne Asada Burrito . As far as taste , it was delicious and the salsas they gave me with it were very tasty but my only complaint is the ratio of ingredients considering the price. Meat ratio was very low compared to the amount of rice and beans. It's about 50% rice 30% beans 15% meat and 5% salsa. Please up the meat ratio a little bit , it's the star of the show . One minor thing also is the wait time in the drive-thru was a bit long but ok considering everything tastes fresh and yummy. Will definitely return to try something new. i've never done reviews on restaurants, but I really want to love this restaurant. I think the whole idea and the concept of it is great. The menu is great. However, the food is very bland no flavor, no Sazon. The customer service is great people are very friendly. Just one advice I can give the chefs that are preparing the food. Add more flavor to the food some spices and salts, and this restaurant would be a hit. I'm still giving it five stars because I really wanted to do well.
