My service was good, and she was very patient with me because it was the first time there. My food was so good it was more than I could finish. A staple of Rialto for decades. Quick service if you get their most sold items. I got the large pastrami grinder and clam chowder and had my order in a few minutes. I ordered to go but seating is available outside, about 5 picnic benches worth. I went in late afternoon in May, so be mindful of weather if your eating outside. I dont think the Drive-in label is accurate, as you've got to park to walk to the window to order. It may look uninviting, but there's staff there. Parking is shared with a nearby market, but beware of the pothole in the driveway. Would be 5 stars when they or the property manager fixes it. read more

I experienced this for the first time today. It is recognized as a local staple and certainly met the expectations. I found the prices to be quite reasonable. The food was served fresh and hot, and it was exceptionally flavorful. I was particularly impressed with the hamburger, which had the taste of a homemade burger and was of a generous size. It wouldn't be so much of an issue except I waited at the window for over two min waiting for her to come to the window even though she was on the side (where I could see her) and she made ordering my food so damn difficult. I ordered a fry and she said $5 or $6 and I said the kids meal is $7 so I'll take that and she persisted that the kids meal has a smaller fry then that. I said it's ok it's for a kid. She said which did you want. I said I'll take the kids meal and she repeated herself stating that it wouldn't be the same amount of fries. I ended up telling her "just charger me for whatever I don't wanna go back and forth" she gave me my money. No receipt. Didn't count it back to me. Did say anything after that. It wasn't that big of a process or deal but she made it seem like I was inconveniencing her by ordering. This place has been though a lot. It opened in 1948 and I had my very first pastrami grinder here about 1957 and many more in years to follow. I don't want to say anything bad about this place just for sentimental reasons but the need to step up their game. I don't know why they don't recognize it. I came here in hopes it would be as good as I remember from the last time 40 plus years ago. The pastrami grinder and the bread it was on had a slight off taste as if it has been heated on a grill was being wiped clean with grease that wasn't being kept fresh. Gorden Ramsey needs to spend a week with them and show them what is wrong. It was such a disappointment I can only give their pastrami grinder a 2 on a scale of 1 to 10. They have nowhere to go but up. When I saw they had pastrami burritos I had high hopes they had duplicated the kosher burrito from the place with the same name in LA that closed about 35 years ago. No such luck! There is no indoor seating and Fontana is notorious for its winds and the pigeons know this is an easy place for a meal. First timers today after living down the street for 6 years and constantly driving by this place. My husband loveddddddd his burger! He got the Hawaiian Teriyaki Cheeseburger and added avocado. I got the Philly Cheese Steak and it was good but not great. I think the meat could have used a little more seasoning. But we'll definitely be back and try other things on their extensive menu. I heard about this business from a content creator on IG OB eats. So I took my family to try this place and here's my experience... Everything was very average price. Food quality service. Nothing outstanding but after looking at the video from IG compared to the food I ordered and received I found our food was less than the portions featured on IG. Being that it's very average nothing remarkable I would consider this restaurant was working with the content creator to be deceptive of the portion size. Normally a restaurant like this would get 2.5 stars cuz it's average, minus 1 star for the deception to total 1.5 stars. I'll generously round up to a 2 star cuz there's no option for 1.5. Haven't been back to this spot in a long time. But it definitely has not change in how good the burgers are here. The only thing that has change is the cost but it's on oar with ever now a days. I had the pastrami burger this time and they liked on the pastrami. This was definitely a huge burger, also had the chili cheese fries .they may not be the best chili cheese fries but they hit the spot. I'm glad they brought back the crinkle fries from my first stop a long time ago. I'm surprised we only found out about this place recently! My husband and I came here on Friday. The owners are a Korean family. We both got their Korean BBQ Special - the Bulgogi combo with rice and salad or fries and a drink. My husband got the salad and I picked fries. The Galbi for the galbi tacos weren't ready that morning. They do not have indoor seating at the moment, but do have seating outside. Our meal took about 15-20 minutes and well worth the wait. If you are in a hurry, you can also call ahead to place your order. Yesterday, we stopped in again for an early dinner. This time we called ahead so by the time we arrived, our order would be ready. Nobody was there (probably all watching the football game). This time they did have the Galbi so I ordered the Galbi combo (2 tacos + drink) and my husband got the same thing he got on Friday; the Bulgogi combo with salad. The tacos didn't need any extra sauce or salsa at all. The meat was very flavorful on its own. We would totally come just for the Korean dishes, but we've been told that their pastrami burgers and other items are really good as well. Next time we come, we'll have to try more items. read more

On 4/30/25 I tried Peppi's for the first time. Sadly I will not be returning I ordered two large pastrami's and a small cold cut sandwich, small chilli cheese fries, horchata and Diet Pepsi. I don't see how reviews say generous portions all the sandwiches I ordered hardly had any pastrami in them and an excessive amount of mustard,the cold cut sandwich was practically all bread. I didn't like the chili fries. I don't see how you can go wrong with chili fries but they did.
