I've been to this restaurant three times, and two out of these three times have been pretty awful. The first time I went, the service was okay, the food was okay, not outstanding, but it's inexpensive and you get what you pay for.
The second time I came here, I ordered drinks for my friends and I. The person who served me (the older gentleman whom I believe to be the owner or manager) had a really strange attitude that left me feeling very uncomfortable. I ordered 3 drinks (in the absence of my friends) and he made jokes saying, "Oh, is that it? Are you going to drink all of this alone in your car?" I just kind of laughed along, and didn't want to be rude, so I just brushed it off. After I got the drinks, I asked for a bag and the man acted like it was a chore. He handed me the bag without looking at me and started helping someone else while still holding it. This, to me, was kinda rude and not-cool. The drink I got (plain boba milk tea) wasn't very good, but I have high boba standards so eh.
The third time I came here, I had the most awkward, uncomfortable experience with THE SAME PERSON. I was wearing a hoodie with crazy font on it, and before I sat down, the older man literally grabbed my arm, held it up, and rudely asked me "What is THAT?" on my sweater. Awkwardly, I explained what it was and sat down hoping someone else would help me. Luckily someone else did, but only for a brief moment. A different server came and politely asked if I was ready to order, I asked for another minute, and he said "No problem." Well, the older man that grabbed me came back 30 seconds later and interrupted my conversation saying, "Okay, your time is up. What do you want?" in a rude way (might've been a joke, but not cool or funny). My friend and I ordered, waited for our food, and just wanted to get the heck out as soon as possible. (I would have left at the point he GRABBED me, but my friend really wanted to eat, so I thought I could just suck it up.) During our meal, my friend was drinking from her bowl while I was eating with my spoon, and the rude, older man comes up again TAPPING my shoulder and says "Why aren't you eating like her? It tastes better like that, don't eat with your spoon." Uh, OKAY??? AM I TELLING YOU HOW TO RUN YOUR RESTAURANT??? No??? DON'T TOUCH ME OR TELL ME HOW TO EAT. This guy really annoyed me that day, and he is the sole reason why I am giving a super low rating.
This man was lucky I was nice enough to consider his other staff, and still left a tip thinking of them. Two of them helped me out really nicely (the different server who asked for my order at first and another nice staff member), but that older man was something else. He was super handsy, super uncomfortable, and left much to be desired with his customer service.
In the absence of this incredibly RUDE, uncomfortable person, the place is worth a solid three stars. But if this person happens to be there, it is a solid NOPE. In the chance that I ever return, I will definitely walk right back out if I see him there. read more
