I wanted to get my first set of eyelash extensions for a special event that I was attending and didn't realize how quickly a lot of spots get booked up in advance. Thankfully MDL had availability and they even threw in a happy hour special for the 80 lashes / first-timer special. The space is very clean and calm. I wanted something as natural as possible and loved the results (so subtle) and it only took about a little over an hour to complete, which meant I got a great nap, lol. I'm not sure I want to keep up with this, but certainly will pop by for extensions when I have special events! read more

I bought a Groupon for 110 lashes. I called two weeks before I wanted the actual appointment. They said they were all booked up for the week for anything after 5:30. Since I had just bought the Groupon the same day I tried to make the appointment, I offered to just cancel my Groupon, since that was the only week I wanted to go (wanted to get a fresh set of lashes right before going to Hawaii). After I said that, a 6 pm appointment magically freed up. Fishy but whatever. So I go in for my appointment and it wasn't even busy at that time. The procedure was fine - didn't really feel any tugging. I went with the sexy style 12s and it wasn't as noticeable as I would have liked it to be. Fast forward about three days - I've just arrived in Hawaii. Hadn't used any greasy sunscreens, hadn't done any swimming or sweating, and most of my lashes are already falling out from just washing my face with water. One week later, all the extensions have basically fallen out, save for a few that are clinging on for dear life, thus making me look like a crazy person. I don't know if they use lower quality lashes/glue for Grouponers or what, but I will not be returning to find out. Note - there's a $5 "cash tax" that you have to pay on top of the Groupon. read more

A great little spot with helpful, friendly staff! This place is Japanese owned and my technician Mieko, was also Japanese. She was so sweet and kind and did an incredible job! I came here to get my lashes done for my wedding and everything turned out beautifully. I had a relaxing nap as she worked on my lashes. Originally I had gone for lengths of 10-12, but as she was placing the lashes, she made the game time decision to keep it to 10-11 as 12 was too long. When she was done, she let me know her choice & I was so glad that she had decided that because the lashes were perfect and didn't tickle my eyebrows lol. I would totally come here again. I had a groupon the first time but this place is such quality that I'll pay full price. Keep in mind it's cash only!! read more

I've been to Maison de lash twice, and both times I left feeling gorgeous! Clean and friendly environment. Extremely well priced in comparison to the competition. Very easy to get an appointment. Great incentive program ($20 off for new clients + free upgrade, $20 off for every person you refer). Your specialist will take you step by step through all the last options. I like mine to look like im wearing some mascara so I go for C curl, 8-12mm in length, with a mix of 'gorgeous' and 'natural' style, 80 lashes per eye. read more

Cash only! ATM located inside. I was extremely terrified of getting lash extensions, but I've always wanted to try it. I found a groupon for Maison de Lash along with great yelp reviews so I decided to give it a try. Btw, there's a $5 "activation fee" for the groupon, which I didn't see mentioned anywhere on the groupon. It was a bit of a turnoff, but it was still a great deal. My technician was Nanae, she was extremely gentle and recommended the 8-11 size and C curve lashes for me. I actually fell asleep while she placed the lashes on because I was so comfortable. The process took about 90 minutes. They also give you a little brush afterwards to keep your lashes perky. When I got home I actually noticed that there seemed to be 2 gaps in one of my eyelashes. Nanae had asked if it looked okay when she was done, but I hadn't noticed at the salon because I was so excited about the dramatic difference. They were still very accommodating and took me in two days after to redo the eye. I got Nanae again and she did a great job!!! It's been about a week and I've noticed maybe 2-3 lashes fall out. They also give you a $5 off coupon if you come back within 3 weeks and get a touch-up. read more

I game here since I had a Groupon and I decided to go with something more natural. I was happy that I decided to do this. My technician was great and she was able to explain everything to me on how to care for them. I suggest going with some pictures so that she can advise on what to go with. Once they start get ready to sleep. I took a nap and when I woke up I was ready to roll. My eyelashes were great and I had them last for about 3 wks. The upkeep is very expensive so I had to stop but if you had an event or was going on a vacation, I definitely recommend getting them done here. You won't regret it. read more

Amazing! This was my first trip to Maison de Lash, and they were killer. I booked via Lifebooker and didn't receive the usual "oh, a voucher..." flack I normally do, which was great. I met with my tech briefly, chose between a J-curl and a C-curl shape for my lashes, and then discussed length options based on my natural lashes. She had me remove my eye makeup there, and made up the bed for me. The place is clean (all open concept, one room with multiple beds) and my tech was awesome. Very painless-- I fell asleep a few times during the procedure. No glue issues, no stinging, nothing! I did 80 lashes per eye and was in and out within about 75 minutes. My eyes look great, and I'm super happy! read more

This was my first experience with lash extensions and I'm very happy to say it has been a pleasant experience. The day of my appointment I was 12 minutes late due to unexpected traffic (I did call in to say I was on my way) and I was fearful of being scolded or given an attitude from the employees based on others' reviews. Thankfully that was not the case. The woman at the front desk/register was so polite and kind, as was the technician who serviced me. The place is one large room with several beds in a row that have orthopedic pillows for under your knee/legs and for your head of course, and a incredibly comfy down comforter. In front of each bed is a basket where you place your belongings. There is soft music playing. Before taking you to your bed, the technician greets you in the waiting area and asses your natural eyelashes and discusses what your desired outcome is while showing you the different options. I went with 80 lashes per eye , J-curl, and a natural look with longest lashes in the center using lash sizes 8,9,10. The process begins with small pieces of tape being placed around your eyelids as well as an under-eye mask. I had no issue with this step. She placed the tape slowly and carefully so I was not worried or uncomfortable at any moment. The entire process took just under 2 hours. The most difficult part for me was sitting still. The last 30 minutes I felt very fidgety. It surprised me how much effort it took me to keep my eyes closed and lay still for so long when I wasn't tired. This is my third day with them and so far I've only lost 2 lashes which I think is pretty good. After they get wet from the shower you have to brush them with a mascara wand because they get a little wonky. The one thing I don't like about them is when I wear eye makeup -especially eyeliner- it's so hard to clean entirely by the lash line because I'm afraid of getting too much makeup remover on my lashes which could break down the adhesive on the lashes and cause them to fall out sooner. Overall it was a relaxing experience and I love the results! read more

I came in on a Friday afternoon. It was empty and I was asked to do a quick survey. When I finished the technician came out with different lash sizes for me to choose and she was very great at explaining and helping me choose my size. After choosing my size, 10,11,12 she walked me to one of the beds, which was very comfy. I was told to close my eyes and the whole process began. I felt no pain what so ever. No discomfort. I fell asleep in and out. And it was all relaxing. She was very careful and gentle. I did not get my technicians name which I should have! While leaving you give you a little care kit which includes a spoolie and how to take care of you lashes. After getting home and washing my face, my eyes did not burn from the glue. Two weeks later, my lashes still look great! The lashes are so soft and don't bother me at all. The only other time I went to get lash extensions were at JJ lashes, their mink lashes were much pointier and painful when I pressed the lashes to my eye. Also when I showered it burned. Thank you maison de lash. I will be back! read more

I came here to try lash extensions for the first time a week ago and I made an appointment through Yelp and got a respond immediately. I bought a gilt city deal for 80 lashes per eye and I told them beforehand and the staff was all very welcoming. The process took about 1.5 hours and Igo did my lashes and was extremely gentle. First she showed me pictures and options I could choose from, from type of curl to length of lash to type of placement. I was going for a more natural look so I picked a C-curl, 9-10mm length, and glamorous placement. I love my end result and I've only lost about 2 lashes total so far so I would say they are holding up very well. Highly recommended!! read more

My eyelashes looked fantastic for the first week- and then within 10 days they were all gone. While the girls are friendly here- I feel the service says do not warrant the prices. They want you to come back every two weeks, and thus have weaker glue and alter their technique to keep their clientele continuously coming back. I should also note that I had pinkeye in the first few days after having my lashes done, it seems to me that other people have experienced the same type of eye irritation. Pass read more

I've been a client of Maison de Lash off and on for a few years now. They always do an amazing job, and best of all, they really take the time and listen to you as you convey the lash look you desire. I was a bit nervous on my most recent visit to MdL because I wanted to try C-curl lashes (I normally do pretty short J-curl 60-65 lashes top only) and I was worried they wouldn't look natural enough for me. I'm someone who likes a very minimal, natural look. So I explained to Aiko what I wanted and based on my file (they keep exceptional records and notes), she described a few different options, going into great detail. Once I decided, Aiko got started, and I got to sleep. About an hour later, she was finished. I looked in the mirror and I was a little surprised. My lashes seemed very dramatic and long to me. I was not thrilled, but I k ow I always feel like I look weird right after the lashes have been applied. Anyway, the next day I woke up loving my look. I think the lashes just needed to "settle" a bit. Once I washed my face, the lashes were perfect and I have never been SO happy with my lashes! Each day I can just get up and go. No fussing w/ the eyelash curler, etc... Aiko did a really thorough job, took her time, and saw to it that I ended up with the lashes I was hoping for. Thank you so much! I will see you again soon. P. S. Even my husband cannot tell. Hehehe... He did comment that I looked healthier and happier the last few days. Shhhhh!! I don't normally reveal my beauty secrets, but if you've been contemplating lash extensions, go to Maison de Lash now. read more

Great experience here. Got some inspiration off their instagram page pre visit so I had a good idea what I was looking for. I had a groupon and it was suggested to upgrade to a higher premium but definitely not pushed. I went for it, because why not. The technician made some great suggestions on what I should go with. I highly advise having a few pictures of what you're looking for because it made it much easier, especially if you're a newbie. They follow all the important guidelines across sanitation. My entire 160 lash set took an hour and I had one of the best naps of the year during my treatment. When I left they handed me an envelope with print out instructions and a brush - very important. I liked that they didn't have too many options. They use one type of lash, you can upgrade on thickness, and then length and curl is your preference. Made the whole process easy. Next time I might opt for more than the 160 set since I love length AND fullness. Would definitely come back. read more

I cancelled my appointment. I understand that there are strict cancellation rules however a disclaimer prior to booking or even confirming would be the way to conduct business. However these are the texts I get. The tone is as if I was the irresponsible one. I did call and the girl told me the first text confirmation had the disclaimer. However, as you can see it did not. I did read it off to her, and she proceeds to still tell me the policy after I cancel the appointment rather than before. read more

I've had my lashes done a few times in the past with another spot in union square with no issues. I got the Groupon and came here due to good reviews. The two stars is being the girls were very nice and friendly. However at the start I felt my right eye burning ... I thought okay no big deal but it got bad so I spoke up midway. She said it was normal. When it was over my one eye killed ( the other felt great ) so I opened my eyes and noticed some white debris in my eye and it was blood shot. I waited to review this in hopes it would go down but unfortunately I am on my vacation with a painful eye problem ( maybe it's scratched ) but I cannot wear my contacts which is very upsetting.... so I can't snorkel or do anything on my trip. read more

The lash technician did an incredible job on my lashes! I got 15/16mm and c curl. i've gotten so many compliments on them. The studio was clean and it took about an hour and 15 minutes to do 120 lashes. The reason i'm giving them 3 stars is because I have groupon select and when i called to make the appointment they told me they would price match me for my lashes. However, when i tried paying they wouldn't accept my groupon and i had to speak with the owner for over 45 min about it. read more

I went to Maison de Lash for my first set of lash extensions. It was a pretty good experience. I was greeted by the receptionist and directed to the waiting area. I waited no more than 2 minutes before a lash specialist came over and discussed the different options with me. She had pictures and showed me what the actual lashes looked like. After I made my selection, we went to one of the beds and she got to work. The whole process took about 90 minutes so I would suggest bringing headphones to keep you occupied. Overall, I had a great experience and I'm happy with how the lashes came out. Also, the staff was EXTREMELY accommodating. I had to reschedule my appointment twice and it was not an issue. My only suggestion/issue was that, as someone who has not had lash extensions before, it was difficult to decide based on the pictures they had. That's because the pictures were all of people with hooded/small eye lids. I have average-medium sized eyelids, so it was hard to imagine how certain lengths, thickness, etc. would look on me. read more

Came here last night with a Groupon. The girls were friendly but the place seemed very odd to me. There are about 4-5 beds right next to each other in one room and it was so quiet. I felt like I couldn't even speak up if I had a question because it was pretty much deathly silent in there. No music or breathing... I got the C curl with lengths between 8-10 and the gorgeous look. It definitely felt a little uncomfortable as she applied all those tapes to my eyes but after a while, it didn't really bother me as much. The reason why I took off three stars is because: - towards the end, while she was prodding the eyelashes, she actually jabbed my eye to the point that it stung till after I left the building. I was actually a little worried that it might be bleeding or something because it hurt that badly. But I couldn't say anything because NO ONE was talking and it was so stifling. - for some reason, she was snipping at the lashes. I'm not sure why she was doing this since I clearly picked a few different lengths and as a lash company, they should have those lengths in stock rather than trim it to the desired length. Either that or she cut them down shorter than what I had originally asked for. Regardless, it was really weird and it made my lashes look more choppy as opposed to the ends looking pointy - main reason: the lashes look SO FAKE. I'm not sure what quality eyelashes they use but they're definitely not as soft or natural looking as other places. I've only gotten eyelashes done once but it was super natural looking but longer. These lashes look super fake and synthetic. My manager actually asked me if those were fake lashes as opposed to eyelash extensions. That's how fake they look. Also, upon further inspection at home, there's like this weird gap on my left eye that's not on my right eye but it's not super noticeable unless I'm staring at them hardcore. But definitely not coming back here. read more

Koto was such a doll! I have gotten my lashes done many times at multiple locations in the city. Madison de lash is one of the best I've ever been to. I originally wanted a 14-15 length mix of C curl but koto talked me into 13-14 mix of C. I'm so happy I took her advice. Then I noticed D curl sets are available which made me even happier, because most places don't have D sets, and I love a more curly lash. Koto was so gentle when applying lashes I fell asleep right away and woke up to a gorgeous set of lashes! I already scheduled my 2 week refill. I left with a 5$ coupon off my refill, a lash wand to take care of my lashes all day and one of the best sets of lashes I've received in a long time. Thank you ! read more

I went to Maison de Lash for the second time yesterday and it's still as awesome as ever. The first time, I used a gilt city voucher. Noriko (sp?) did my lashes and was extremely thorough and patient. I said that I'd like them to last as long as possible and I kinda liked a bit of glam but didn't want them to look insane, so she assessed my eyes and lashes and suggested I get the J (straighter) curl in 9, 10, 11. She didn't try to upsell me into getting more lashes; in fact, she was very honest and said that since I didn't have tons of lashes, I probably couldn't handle more than 110 per eye anyway and that they'd fall out faster. If only all beauty and spa places tried to save you $$$ like this! The experience itself was great. I put my bag in the basket and was tucked into "bed". That pillow under the knees hit the spot. I don't think I'd be able to lie straight on my back for 90+ minutes without getting squirmy and uncomfortable. The under eye pads went on and the lashes deftly were applied. After dozing off for a bit, Noriko gently removed the excess glue to slowly open my eyes. My eyes weren't irritated at all, and my lashes looked amazing. Loved them. They looked natural with that bit of "pop" that I wanted. AND when the under eye pads were removed, my skin didn't feel like it was being ripped off either. She's super skilled and super gentle. And her recommendation for the curl and the length and number of lashes were spot on: my lashes lasted for almost 6 weeks before I had to start trimming the stragglers that were growing out weird. The second time, I brought my sister. She's getting married and was thinking of applying fake lashes for the big day, but I had been raving about Maison de Lash and said how it would save her tons of time to have extensions and how they'd last for her honeymoon and how clean and awesome this place was... so she made an appointment to try it out. Coincidentally, there was ANOTHER gilt city deal offered so she bought it. My sister chose to get the C (curlier) lashes that went from 9 on the ends to 11 in the middle. I had Noriko again and got the same J curl flared look. BTW, they had my file on hand showing the last time I came in, which style and size lashes I had, who my specialist was, etc so when I asked for "same as last time" I got exactly that. Did I mention how thorough this place was? After 90 minutes, my sister and I paid and thanked everyone profusely and stared and blinked at each other in the lobby (there are convenient mirrors by the elevators). We looked like complete weirdos analyzing each other's eyes with our faces 4 inches away from each other, but whatever. She looked fab and the lashes totally suited her. I was like, "Dude... I told you. They just know." We're definitely coming back in May to get properly lashed up before her wedding! read more

It is the grand FIRST time writing a review on yelp. I forget things very quickly and try not to recall unpleasant things over and over. Although there have been several times I wanted to write a review on yelp when I received a bad service I didnt post anything, but this time I couldn't resist. I bought the gilt city voucher for 80 lashes per eye. The taping issue as the other yelper mentioned - my left eye was very itchy throughout the entire procedure. The technician didnt put 80 lashes per eye - I asked her if she applied 80 or not before i stepped out because it was way too obvious that I didnt get 80 per eye. She said i didnt have enough lashes. Thats fine but i paid 80 per eye and she didnt comment anything until I asked her. To me she should have at least told me about it or tried to accomodate the price. Still thats fine because i bought a gilt city deal. On the second day i lost about 10 lashes. Ridiculous. I called in and they were willing to fix it. The only reason why I gave them 2 stars instead of 1. I went in again to get lashes fixed but on that day the other technician put tapes onto my under eye area directly without any collagen mask. Probably because i am a mad customer who came to fix lashes? Taping directly under my eye... that hurt a lot when she took it off. Under eye area has been irritated since then. It's been 10 days since i got the lashes done - Only half left. I wonder why there are way too many good reviews on this salon. I have been to more than 5 lash salons in the nyc and even in Asia... I cant find any good points from this salon. I refuse to go to this salon to get refills... because I am too afraid to lose 10 lashes next day again. read more

Let me start by saying: I really love this place! I've been looking for good eyelash places for a while (see my previous comments). This one is the best so far. Since I just got my lashes today, I cannot comment on the durability of these lashes (I'll update on this as time goes by). Instead, here are a few things I really like about this place and my girl Mariko ( hope I spelt it correctly!). 1) the place is quiet, nice, clean and relaxing. Comforting music in the background and everybody talks in a very soft manner if they have to. 2) the technician is GENTLE. I hate it when my under-eye areas has to be covered by tapes ( I don't know why so many salons in the US do this), but here it is done in a better fashion: eye masks instead of tapes. These eye masks makes the experience comfortable and relaxing. Mariko is also gentle with her work that I felt asleep twice. 3) She cares about your lashes. During my service, I inquired about under-eye lash extensions and if I could have a fuller extension for 110 lashes each. Keep in mind, these are all price-increasing services. Mariko gave me the most honest and detailed answer I would ever expect. She discussed and analyzed my needs and the strength of my own lashes with me and offered proper suggestions on when and how should I get these services. Thank you Mariko! read more

How an establishment treats its unsatisfied customers tells a great deal about the business. I purchased a groupon for 110 lashes per eye, called ahead a week or so to get an appointment on the weekend. My lady (forgot her name) and I discussed before beginning and decided on 10 for my inner lashes, 12 for my middle lashes and 11 for my outer lashes to enhance my round shaped eyes. We were done after about 90 minutes. After I got home, I started to second guess my decision. Because of the fact that they don't recommend wearing mascara at all with lash extensions, I've found my lashes to be about the same length with mascara on. And obviously less thick and dark looking. Therefore it was too natural for my taste. I called back first thing the next morning. And another lady kindly explained that they can add longer lashes to my eyes if I had more of my own lashes left empty. If not, removing the lashes from yesterday might damage my natural lashes depending on my own hair strength. Then she said she could help me now if I could come in right away. I went back and she suggested we can add 14 to some of my left over blank lashes. I agreed and after 15 minutes it was done. She was patient and kind. As I was leaving I asked if we were all good (if I had to pay anything additional) she said yes all good. I'm now a lot more satisfied with my lashes but moreover incredibly pleased with how Madison treated me. 10/10 customer service. read more

Love this place. I bought a GILT City voucher for a set of 80 lashes on each eye, and it was worth every penny. More, even. I tried to make an appointment two days ago, but they were booked through the holiday. I made an appointment for next week, but they promised to call me if someone cancelled. And they did! When I got there, I was greeted by a warm, professional team. My lady took her time to show me my options and then delicately applied each lash. I'm not new to lashes, so I know a good job. And this was a good job. The reason I'm giving them 4 stars instead of 5 is because I actually don't like my lashes. They look so natural, that they look exactly like my lashes. Just a little more length would have been perfect. Kinda disappointing, but I did ask for a more natural look. Will go back, and next time I'll get some more 10 and 11 lashes for a natural looking "I woke up like this" sexy eye. read more

I've been to a ton of lash places and I have to say that this place is SO solid. It's been about 3 weeks since I had my lashes done and most of them are still in. AMAZING. The space is small and quiet, located in an office building. The ladies that work there are really nice and let me put in my headphones and get comfortable before they started. The process is pretty much the same at this place v. others. There are times when it can get uncomfortable and the glue might sting your eyes a little while it's drying. Nothing out of the ordinary. They do use a really nice and natural looking lash- it's not as thick as some of the places that I've been before and they're softer which make them a lot more comfortable to have on the eyes. I will definitely be coming back! Thank you Maison de Lash! You've made my lashes effortlessly beautiful! read more

It's on the 7th floor of an old building, but once you go inside it's a beautifully decorated room with 4 comfortable fluffed up beds with blankets and pillows and a basket to put your stuff in. Summary: - the place is really clean - employees were very polite and friendly - they don't rush you at all. I arrived a couple of minutes late for my appointment, and they were so nice and accommodating about it. - the eyelash job was very precise and not messy at all - took about 2 hrs for my set I think they did a great job! I was traveling in NYC, needed a place to refill my eyelashes, I called "eyelovelashes" first, as it was close to where I stayed, I was told blunted, that they don't fix other people's lashes, if i wanted to go, it would be a full set. Maybe it was the host's asian accent English, he was definitely not friendly. It's not about the money, you wouldn't want to damage your lashes that much to have them all removed and redone, ridiculous. Then I messaged Maison if they can fix my lashes for me, and I got a YES msg back. I called back and they booked me in straight away : ) The place was quiet, clean, professional, soothing music...My lady was sooo gentle, polite and professional, when she was removing some old lashes, I could hardly feel it! I've always wanted really full, lush, and beautiful eyelashes. I finally have them. My life is complete. I don't have to wear any more eye makeup and it takes me 10 minutes to get ready in the morning and I feel like a full blown lady. Where is the 6th star? read more

Love this place! This is the second time I got my eyelashes done. First time was at Aveda- they did horrible job! They glued my bottom lashes to my top, the tape they used hurt like WAX when pulling it off.. not gentle at all! Plus they only took 1 hr... This place was amazing in comparison. The lady that did my eyelashes was REALLY gentle- it was as if I were at a spa! She took the full 2 hours to put on 160 lashes (I got the groupon deal), and by the time she was done, my eyes looked like dolls! It's been about 1.5 months and I still have some lashes. They've fell off naturally, and I don't have any lashes that have gone upside down or anything. I'm going to book an apt to get them refilled soon :) read more

First, the lashes are absolutely beautiful. They are so natural looking that many of my friends asked me "what kind of mascara IS that?" No one suspected that I had extensions. Second, the customer service is really great. Every time I come here the staff is friendly and polite. They are understanding and accommodating even when I have to change last minute or if I'm arriving late. It is great to schedule appointments via text- the staff responds right away to any questions I may have. Third, the area they have is clean and comfortable. I like the soothing music because it helps me fall asleep while the eyelashes are being put on :) Thank you!! read more

I've recently moved to NYC from Stockholm, Sweden. Have done lashes for about a year at Enchanting Eyes in Stockholm (Louise is the best!) and needed to find a place in my new hometown. Found Maison de Lash on Yelp and booked an appointment with Aya. Prices are much higher than in Stockholm (to my surprise, cause manicure and pedi are much cheaper) Around $100 for a new set of 80 lashes per eye. (Cheapest option) You get to lay under a nice cover during the session. Nice, cool and comfy. Aya is very gentle and I am very pleased with the result. They use some other type of lash that I'm not used to and it isn't as curled as I wish (have the c-curl) but I'm still very happy and will continue going to Aya. Recommend going to Maison de lash! I've looked at some other places and this was very moderate prices! I found much more expensive salons. read more

Beautiful, clean establishment in comparison to the other lash places I have been to in the past. Lovely customer service from booking the appointment over the phone to the actual service inside the facility. My technician was confident in her recommendation w/o being pushy. The full lash application lasted approximately 2 hours which I had anticipated. I normally would struggle to relax for this amount of time but I fell asleep within the first 5 min. The beds are really comfortable and clean making it all too tempting for me to sleep. When I woke I had beautiful lashes!! The pricing is competitive and service wonderful. I will definitely return for a touch up and make recommendations to my friends who invest in lash application. read more
