Slowly, the same issue as most other places, staff speaks a different language in your face ( I speak a few and it is possible not to if the costumer does not speak it). The workers are hit or miss. Last person who did my hard gel was awful, rude and when I pointed out the nail clipper was not in plastic she started speaking in her language and spraying me with alcohol practically into my face. The owner (manager) wanted to calm things down and I also did not want to make a bigger deal. Two weeks later I have a green nail, I am 48 and have been getting acrylic, powder, gels etc etc for over 30 years and this has never happened. Yes, the salon says it lifted and moisture went in. My fault? I have my doubts. The last tech looked like she hates her job. On top of it when I was there to remove the gel that same worker passed by speaking about me to the woman doing nails. Rude in any culture!!!!! Will not be going back. My nails will need to heal, could have been worse so beware!!!!

The manicure was calm and relaxing, and I absolutely love the finish. I started my day with a steam shower infused with the most soothing scents, setting the tone perfectly and allowing me to leave all the stress behind. From there, I went straight into the massage, then the manicure, followed by a couple of treatments and a haircut with a flawless blowout. By the end, I truly felt like a new person. And let's not forget the Milky Way cappuccino -- the perfect touch to an already heavenly day of relaxation.

I am disgusted by this spa and how managers react when an esthetician hurts the client. Here is my…read morestory.. I wanted to go to a "nicer" spa for a facial on my birthday so my mother found this place with based solely on reviews. The esthetician that did my facial was Nancy who had 20+ years doing this. I like a calm, quite environment but she spoke through the entire facial which was not pleasant as this is the time to relax. Given Nancy's experience, I would hope she knew the difference between pimples and skin colored moles/bumps on the face, however.. she did not. Nancy extracted pimples along with two skin-colored moles which bled during the facial and she did not tell me. I could not tell directly after as my face looked red, but the next day as my skin calmed down, I saw the damage that was done. I immediately called the spa to let them know what happened. There are several managers at AF Bennet. The first I spoke with was Theresa, I sent her a picture since I lived in a different borough so I would have to pay a toll. Then, she said I would have to come in so she can look more closely at it as if she did not believe me. I went in on my birthday which is not something I wanted to do but I wanted her to see what Nancy had done to my face. She took pictures and told me she would send them to the other managers. Theresa made it as if it was no big deal and she scratches marks like that all the time and it will go away. I asked for the money back but instead she said "How about you come in on a day Nancy is not there?" Theresa completely ignored what I wanted and gave me some acne cream and told me to cover it as it was under my glasses. I said I should see a doctor because I was in pain, she said just put this on it with another esthetician and there was no need for a doctor's appointment. I wish I listened to my gut and went to a doctor. A month passed and it was not healing. It was red and still bleeding so I called back and spoke with Theresa again but now her attitude completely changed. She was nasty about it but I insisted I wanted my money back. She would have to get back to me. I kept calling and then got another manager Michele, who had no idea what happened even though Theresa said she would share the pictures she took of my face. Again, I was running after Michele to get a response as she was not the general manager. Tina, general manager was finally made aware of the situation when I got ahold of her. I was disgusted that Theresa never shared the pictures she took of my face with her. Theresa took pictures of my face and just kept them in her phone?? At first, Tina sounded sincere about the situation, I had to explain everything from the beginning as Theresa never told her anything. I told her I've been in pain due to the negligence of Nancy. I was refunded when I told her it was healing and that I will not come back. She said I need more details to know what is going on with your face. So, I sent her the information and she told me it must be an underlying condition. This would have eventually come out anyways. I never had a problem with this area before and I get skin checks every year yet a general manager read a summary from an MD and determined this. I am absolutely appalled by all of the people at this place. If this was their daughter, sister, etc.. I bet their reaction would be different. I am now going for a confoccal imaging procedure to make sure everything is ok and they do not want to pay for this. If I have to take further action after the procedure, I will take them to court. This place does not care about people. I would look elsewhere if you want a facial!!

Also close to good food/beverage & shopping, if you want to get a couple of things in before/after your appointment. Alice's work: amazing. Amazing amazing amazing. People who know brows and/or who know I've had mine microblading compliment me on my brows alllll the time. People who don't know brows, or don't know I've had mine done, have no idea. I wanted a classic, natural look, and i have it. Full but tidy, dark but subtle, symmetrical and even brows. Especially in a time when eyes are so often all we see, or we're staring at our own faces in an endless series of zoom meetings, having brows you enjoy looking at = priceless. Am endlessly grateful for Alice and her skillful work. Check out her galleries on IG or her website- the look you want, she can do-- she'll just do it with an expert eye and hand so that the look you get truly suits you (remember: sometimes a look you see on someone else is one that suits *their* face better than it would suit yours-- Alice will apply the aesthetic you're going for in a way that works with your bone structure). Also? She customizes her ink to match your natural coloring-- it's flawless. Follow her after-care advice for beat results, and you'll have exactly that: the *best* results. Alice's service value: excellent. Even at full-price, her work is priced well for the flawless brows you get. But on top of that? She often runs groupons that give you an even greater value-- this is one of the very rare instances in which a Groupon beauty service is a *good* idea instead of a horrible mistake. Do not make the error of thinking that b/c she offers discounts, you are getting a low-value service. Her service is fantastic. It's just her, so appointments may be tough to get-- but scheduling ahead is worth it. Fix those brows, friends. Give yourself that gift. You'll thank yourself (and Alice!) every day for years after. Going back for eyeliner, I trust her that much.

Once I arrived, Alice checked on my eyebrows and had me sign some paperwork. There was aftercare instructions in the back so make sure you take pictures of it! (Alice will let you know to take pics of it as well) Once I sat on the procedure chair, she went through my options. Since I had redness due to the removal, she was afraid it would show if she added just the microblading hair strokes. She suggested I do the combo which entails shading along with the hair strokes. Of course there was an additional cost but I really didn't want to have my eyebrows fixed again for future purposes so I went ahead and opted for the combo. Once I laid down, Alice walked me through the entire eyebrow drawing procedure and asked me what kind of eyebrow shape I was looking for. I was bored of my straight brows so I wanted more of an arch but not too much of an arch. She drew and perfected my eyebrows countless of times in order to get the right and perfect style. She also made sure my eyebrows were aligned and symmetrical. All in all, the procedure was entirely painless and very easygoing and smooth. I will post up the pictures of my eyebrows once they'll done healing so you can see the finished product! (They're way too dark as of now so I don't want that to scare you guys off!) Book with Alice! Her prices are extremely competitive and she makes you feel so comfortable! She told me she was going to start offering facial treatments and I can't wait to take my mom here!
