Slightly awkwardly waiting in the reception area while she juggles another client. Slightly disappointed at the lack of mindless magazines - No Self, Seventeen, Vogue or Glamour. Fortunately, there was Harpers Bazaar so I could catch up on Paris Hilton's latest. I did the face framing height lights - 8 foils but I think she gave me a few extra. Saved around $60 by skipping toner and a blow dry. Asked for thick highlights, and they looked a bit skinned but the stylist showed me how they were actually thick. She was right. She didn't show me my hair automatically at the end. I had to ask, but I did like what I saw.

I came into this salon with a beautiful balayage that had taken me months to perfect -- time, sun, and patience had created a look I truly loved. When I first met Carlos, the owner, he even acknowledged how beautiful my hair was. My appointment was simple: a root touch-up and a trim. That's it. Instead, I left with hair two tones darker, no balayage, and no highlights at all. Carlos only cut my bangs (not the trim I had asked for), and my once natural, sun-kissed color was completely covered up. After washing, I immediately mentioned to him that my hair looked much darker, but he brushed it off saying, "It's just because it's wet." When it dried, it looked even darker -- I said something again, and he dismissed me by saying it would "lighten up over time, maybe." The most frustrating part? He justified his decision by saying my hair looked "brassy" -- but there are so many professional techniques to correct brassiness without eliminating balayage or going so dark. Instead of honoring my request, he made a choice for me -- one that erased months of effort and left me heartbroken. For me, this was more than just a color mistake, and waste of time and money. It was a breach of trust. When you sit in a stylist's chair, you expect to be heard and respected, not ignored or overridden. Especially as busy moms, we rely on professionals to do what we ask -- not what they decide for us. Now I'm left with dark hair I never wanted, no balayage, and the added burden of finding another salon to fix it, at the expense of damaging my hair. What should have been a simple maintenance appointment turned into a heartbreaking waste of time, money, and trust. Not only then they find a spot to squeeze us in, but they treated her so sweetly and they were so kind. (When you send your teenagers to get haircuts, that's not always the case if you don't know). They were the cheerleaders she didn't know she needed and they absolutely nailed her hair. What started as one of the worst days of her life turned into one of the best. I don't remember how I came upon Envy Salon but I have been coming here ever since. I see Danielle who is phenomenal. The whole staff is fantastic and all help each other out with tasks such as shampooing, blow drying, or flat ironing. My second appointment was a week before my wedding and Danielle did a great job matching my red/auburn hair to the extensions I purchased. Recently, I wanted to do something drastic and cut about a foot of hair off and I've received many compliments on the shoulder length cut. Danielle does a great men's haircut too! While I have many complaints, the main one is that I did not like my haircut, and even after I tried to ask the stylist to fix it, I was rushed out looking terrible. My haircut was 14 minutes with no wash/shampoo, no blow dry and no products. I was told that the cut would be dry because of my hair type. My hairstylist was Rita who said that my hair type is best cut with dry hair. I have never had that in the past, but I trusted her experience. However, I was very disappointed that she cut my hair so quickly and then didn't ask me if I liked it, I felt like she was pushing me out the door. I have long hair and asked for many layers, lots of layers that are visible and she did not give me that. I had her add more in and asked her to fix a few things 5/6 times, which she did, but with the attitude that I was bothering her. Her cuts are $75 dollars and that's an unfair price for the experience I got. My next complaint is partly due to the coronavirus but it still left a negative taste in my mouth. I called on Friday for an appointment and was told the salon was finally able to use the blow dryers, but to schedule early in the day because they sometimes ran out of sanitized brushes near the end of the day. I came in for my Saturday appointment and Rita told me that was not the case, no blowdrys. I told her that the receptionist told me differently, and her only response was "oh she knows". Therefore my hair looked extremely sad due to the lack of wash/blow dry and products. Overall, I felt very unwelcomed at this salon.
