Asked a local for the best waffle in town and we were lead here. I appreciate a good recommendation! Located in a very touristy area, I was a little surprised, but it did not disappoint. The place is cute with tons of fresh cookies to choose from, gifts packaged, and items to order and brought to the table. I ordered the Spectaculoos Machiatto and it was fantastic!! Beautifully presented and surprisingly not too sweet. Perfect in my opinion. What brought us in was the waffle recommendation. Although this was different than I expected, it was quite good. It was a light and airy on the inside yet a crispy waffle on the outside (supposedly traditional Belgium style). I'd recommend stopping in for a light bite in if the area. Service was good and fast.
I just arrived in Brussels. I decided to try some famous Belgian waffles & a latte at Maison Dandoy. It was one of the places that was on my list before I arrived, and the hotel concierge at Pillows City Hotel also recommended it. I've never been a huge fan of waffles, but I am now!! The waffle itself is yummy. It's lightly crispy on the outside but very delicate & still soft inside. The Simply Dandoy waffle is amazingly delicious!! It is topped with Speculoos spread, Speculoos ice cream & crunchy crushed Speculoos. I also had a latte w/ oat milk, which was very good. It came with a cute little cube of brown sugar & a small Speculoos cookie.... Nice addition. The interior is very cute & nicely decorated. All of the servers are nice. I definitely want to come back next time I visit Brussels again, but I might also come back again within my 3 nights stay on this trip! There's so many delicious waffles joints I have yet to try though.
Cute and delicious waffle shop! I visited Brussels for a quick weekend trip at the tail end of a longer European tour and almost forgot to get a Belgian waffle before heading back home. Thankfully, Maison Dandoy was there to save the day -- they're open quite early (including before my early flight), have a great spread of waffles and cookies (perfect for a last-minute souvenir or gift), and were able to give me my caffeine fix. It trends a bit expensive, but it's within reason for such a touristy part of town, and the variety of options, friendly service, and other conveniences make up for it. I got a classic Brussels waffle with chocolate sauce and marinated strawberries. The waffle was perfectly thin, light, and airy, with a slight crunch / crispness on the outside but the most delightfully fluffy center. The toppings certainly made it sweeter, but the waffle itself has a lovely subtle sweetness. The chocolate sauce was super rich and smooth -- to be expected from Brussels -- and I loved the pop of acidity from the strawberries, although they did amp up the waffle's sweetness quite a bit. I can't imagine this waffle in its typical form (also with vanilla ice cream) and how sweet that would be, but this was within a comfortable range for me, especially when paired with an americano. I'd definitely recommend sharing with someone; the waffles don't look large but definitely get to be a lot with how sweet they are and how rich some of the toppings are.
What's not to love?! Great coffee and nice waffles with any level of extravagant topping - I was in sugar heaven. Sure, people had steered us away from here due to the touristy and over-the-top nature but sometimes that's what you want! The spot on the corner was excellent people-watching as we sat outside as well. The waffle was scrumptious - we got the one with biscoff - and I have no complaints
Nice decaf cappuccino The leige waffle was delicious. At least I thought so. Hubby didn't like the texture with the Carmelized bits in the dough. This should only be topped with some powdered sugar.
Atomium waffle was absolutely brilliant! Best waffle I have ever had!! Right amount of crunch and chocolate sauce. Their waffle was light and just perfect! Epitome of Belgian waffles Id say as a tourist! Came here twice for the atomium! And while I loved their waffle, I was disappointed with their hot chocolate. Recommend their waffles for sure.
Oh my goodness. I made a point to stop in here during my pre-trip research for Brussels. We were checking out the gallery anyway and there was no time like the present. We were with my parents who wanted something remotely nutritious for lunch and that they were not going to get at Maison Dandoy. We dropped them off at Le Pain and were luckily able to snag one of the "outside" tables at Dandoy. The service was no frills but simple and prompt. To drink, I ordered a matcha and GF their house beer something cookies. Ok, ok, I'll get to the part you actually care about: the WAFFLES. We wanted a little variety so we ordered both a brussels and a liege waffle. On our brussels waffle, we went with their crushed speculoos topping, caramel sauce, and a scoop of ice cream. For the liege waffle, we ordered the one with the strawberries, whipped cream, and chocolate sauce. Both were ORGASMIC. Pure ecstasy. You don't need drugs if you have these waffles. They have completely ruined waffles for me. I can never have a waffle again if it isn't in Belgium, preferably at this place. It's very sad, actually. Please excuse me while I take a moment to enjoy that memory.
Who doesn't friggin love hot fresh waffle action? Service with a smile, and speedy as can happen when things are fresh made. It is a super busy spot so plan ahead and come prepared to wait for golden goodness. Pro tip - take away is fastest and easiest!

I stood at the counter for a while and no one acknowledged me- annoyed. I ordered the "Queen's Favorite." But then I was later told they ran out of strawberries. I went with the "Grand Place's Classic" instead. I liked the light and crispy waffle with the vanilla ice cream. By the way, if you choose to eat there it's an extra euro.
This is one of the most famous waffle places in Brussels so I was pretty excited to try it out and find out what's the difference between regular waffles and Belgian waffles. Apparently you can just sit down inside or outside and service will come to your table which is surprising to me because they didn't have that many waiters around. True to their word, they did come take my order in an extremely timely manner. I ordered the Brussels waffles with Hot Chocolate and I thought it was very okay. The waffle itself was very crispy on the outside but didn't actually have a ton of flavor. The hot chocolate did help but I felt like there could have been more chocolate and the chocolate could have been more runny, kind of like Spanish hot chocolate. The powdered sugar brought a slight bit of sweetness but not that much. I don't know, I just thought this dish to be incredibly standard. Overall, I thought the waffles were very okay. Not sure if its good or memorable enough to come back. Honestly, I should probably try the cookies the next time I'm here because that's the other thing that they are known for.
Maison Dandoy was one of the places I've bookmarked before our visit to Belgium. Luckily, we stumbled by it randomly. My hubs and I had a double espresso with their Belgian waffle with speculoos spread, strawberries and a scoop of vanilla ice cream. It's more than enough for two people to share and a sweet indulgence. It was such a pretty treat to look at and the area of this indoor plaza was beautiful as well. We sat alongside the rail drinking our coffee and enjoying each other's company. So pleasant overall. They also had different sizes of tote bags. I got both the small and large size as a souvenir. They are durable, inexpensive and super cute!
BEST WAFFLE IN THE WORLD!!! Omg you must go here. I am not joking. It was heavenly. Got a belgium waffle with chocolate, strawberries, and whipped cream. Thought I'd have to cut the waffle like all other waffles I've had but OMG I BARELY DID. This waffle is other worldly. It breaks easily. It's so light but very flavorful. I cannot even describe how perfect it is. Please just try a waffle from them!! You will not be disappointed. Do not go to the other stands. Come here!!!! Workers knows English as well. Order at register if you want to take out. Sit yourself if you want to eat in & they'll come take your order and deliver your food. It's a very cute shop as well and they have other items for purchase.
My SO was looking forward to trying her first liege waffle here at Maison Dandoy and she thoroughly enjoyed her first one. Since it was a little after opening, there was a lot of seating available both outside and in. The Galeries Royales Saint-Hubert location was already impressive with its 1800s glass enclosed shopping arcade but we opted for inside seating to be surrounded by the beautiful woodwork and colorful panels of the restaurant. Staff were friendly and service was leisurely which allowed us to linger even after we finished our drinks and waffle. They served both Brussels and Liege waffles that could be customized with your choice of toppings or a bunch of set combos. We decided to share a liege waffle with stewed strawberries and it wowed us. We loved the sweetness from those unusual stewed strawberries (looked no different to us) on top of the crunchy and caramelized liege waffle. It was the perfect pairing and worth the splurge. We also appreciated the large glasses of cold lattes which provided a much need jolt of caffeine on an already quite warm morning (June heatwave throughout Europe). One knit pick was the table we chose wobbled a lot but with a folded napkin underneath temporarily stabilized it. read more
20/10. the waffles were so soft and fluffy. this is what i think about when i say belgium waffles. these are definitely the best waffles and they were sooooooo goood. i can't emphasize this enough; so light fluffy and a creamy flavor. the service was fast and the ambiance was beautiful. i mean look at the table read more
Our waffle dreams came true! The ambiance, service, and variety on the menu were all fantastic. My favorite was the Brussels waffles, which are so delicious they don't even need any add-ons or toppings. While the prices might be a bit higher than street food trucks, the quality is exceptional and well worth it. Lekker read more

My 3 friends and I visited on a Tuesday morning and were able to find seats within 10 minutes. I'd recommend this place to anyone trying a Belgian waffle for the first time who wants a sit-down experience, but I will say that their options are limited in terms of toppings, and while they do what they do very well, picky eaters may have a tough time with most of their toppings. My friends and I all enjoyed our waffles, though, and they were pretty fairly priced for central Brussels. Our drinks were delicious too, and one of my friends doing her expresso to be the best in Europe so far. The restaurant was adorable as well, and the staff were super sweet, so overall, while I personally wouldn't go out of my way for their food again, I'd recommend it to first-timers as a reliable and delicious option. read more
A cute little café in the "mall" in the center of Brussels. The decor is to die for! What I ordered: we were simply walking around and looking for a place to rest our feet. We decided to stop and get a cappuccino here. It was good, but a little pricier than other places. (But I get it considering the great location.) I saw people getting waffles here, but they are more expensive than the other waffles you could get in the city. I would say it's not worth it even though I didn't actually try them. A good place to get a coffee! Not super relaxing, but a good place to people watch. read more
Delicious sweet treats. A super aesthetically pleasing place to buy delicious cookies. You must try at least three different types of cookies. I have never had a vanilla speculoos cookie and it was one of my favorites. The other top two I'd recommend are the classic speculoos and the pain d'amandes. The staff was very friendly and very thoughtful when answering our each and every question. If you are in Brussels you must stop by for some cookies! read more
When in Belgium!!! Waffles!!!!! And in this place: you get your waffles, cakes and cookies!! And eat them all!! Brussels is a cute place. Not too crazy, not too busy. A lot of beautiful cafes. And chocolatiers with the most stunning truffles.. and cookies! A lot of cafes have cookies! And Belgium waffles. This place has all that and some more. The smell of butter and sugar: so good!!! I enjoyed a good sit down lattes more than many meals. And here, I got to have it with an assortment of their cookies : ( I let my awesome waiter picked! And he did)! Latte x cookies combo was €6.50 I believe. Not bad at all considering we spent close to $10 per latte back home in Seattle! And the waffles!! Belgium waffles in Belgium. It's a thing. So I did a thing. You can have it plain or with fruit toppings and ice cream. I had mine with vanilla ice cream and strawberry compote. I would have preferred it on it's own I think. More simple and plain. But no regret! The wait time is long! Very busy!! Very pretty inside. I almost opted foe outside seating which is inside this gorgeous galleria anyway. But inside has so much more character! And that massive bustling counter/ kitchen full of pastries watching was fun! Belgium waffles! In Belgium! Yes please! read more

Spicy windmills of crunchy joy await you at Maison Dandoy. The wallpaper is a feast for the eyes, (look closely for a little surprise). Myriad of cookies on display to enjoy at a table or take away. Friendly service to a tourist like me. Come here and skip that fountain of pee. read more
Went here twice during our long weekend to Brussels. First trip was five stars. Service was a touch slow, but waffles were awesome! Cooked cherries and hazelnut toppings couldn't have been better. So good, in fact, that we went a second time the next day. Second trip wasn't as good. The dishwasher was broken so we waited a good 20+ minutes before the manager could get plastic ware from another location. That stuff happens but then the waffles came out really quickly and tasted reheated. That, to me, is inexcusable -- you're paying a premium for a product that actually has very minimal ingredient cost. So, downgraded to four stars to average the five star first visit with the three star second visit. read more

Come to this Madison Dandoy for the quality and service you expect with the best waffles in Belgium. Lovely and friendly staff. Great outdoor seating and delicious waffles. Unfortunately they only have the Brussel waffle not the Liege variety. Still good, I ordered mine with 3 scoops of ice cream. Waffles and ice cream were made to be so why separate them. All the ice creams were good, vanilla, pistachio and speculoos. read more

This is a beautiful new shop featuring the beloved spéculos, biscuits, breads, cakes, and confections featured in the other nearby Maison Dandoy shop. The first shop was opened five generations of the Dandoy family ago. This is a great place to stop if you need a coffee and something sweet for a pick-me-up. I still need to try their famous waffles. Yelp 100 challenge 2020 #12 What is the hype with this place? This was THE waffle place to go to according to the locals. So that just leads me to think that my waffle standards are a bit off. I got the waffle with strawberries and chocolate sauce. The waffle was warm but a little too soggy. And the strawberries were in strawberry sauce which did not help the soggy mess. I prefer fresh strawberries. So maybe I ordered the wrong thing? But that's what was recommended to me! Also my 3 friends agreed that theirs was a bit too soggy too. I personally don't think it's worth it. But I guess you gotta try it, right? read more
The waffles here were good but not worth the price. I got a waffle with topping and a cappuccino for like 12€. If it was for 8€ it might have been more worth it. There is a waffle truck near parc du cinquantenaire called Sabruma and they had the best waffles from my trip and it was 2€. read more
