It has been 5 months since we withdrew our offer to buy a MainVue home. We loved the home, the location; it was perfect. The MainVue sales consultant was very helpful and we enjoyed working with her. The model was lovely, a few small quality issues but nothing big, and overall on a par with other good quality track home builders. It had an "outdoor room" which we fell in love with. We have purchased many homes, one from a track home builder, so we felt like we knew the ropes. We have also designed our own home and had it built by a custom builder, so we understood that process as well. We were not expecting a fully custom home. Our offer was a "pre-sale" -- build our selected model, on our selected lot. It had not been permitted yet and the only thing that had been pre-selected was the facade. We had a choice of brick or rock on the facade and we chose brick. MainVue prides itself on their interior design and color schemes, as well as "luxury" inclusions. The problems came when we wanted upgrades and changes. These are changes/upgrades Main Vue would not do: -- hardwood floors instead "timber look" vinyl -- wooden shelves and rods in closets instead of open wire -- under counter drawers instead of cupboards in kitchen -- install under cabinet lighting in kitchen (they would pre-wire only) -- 8 foot doors rather than standard -- grab bars in the showers and for the tub -- foot rest in shower -- install brick on the outdoor fireplace instead of shiny tile or cement board -- You cannot make any selections or changes as far as hardware, fixtures and lighting (disappointing, but not a deal breaker for us) We worked with MainVue for about 2 months before we withdrew our offer. We were told that we couldn't make changes like adding a foot rest in the shower because the designer did not intend for there to be a footrest. Seriously. The final straw was when they would not put brick on the outdoor fireplace, even though it was the same brick they were putting on the facade, and even though their models had brick outdoor fireplaces. As it turns out, some things you see in their models are not done anymore. When we pursued why brick could not be used, it finally boiled down to the simple fact that the builder did not want to do it. That message sunk in to us and we decided to withdraw. Of course, MainVue can build any kind of home they want, and they are very successful, but for us, when there was zero flexibility on simple requests, that was the deal breaker. It made us wonder how MainVue would handle warranty issues, and we didn't want to find out. read more

Mainvue homes provide a nice layout and well designed spaces. Their marketing and sales team are fantastic; however, when you really look deep, they are just another large builder that throws together houses. Their quality is subpar and cost more than builders who do the same work. I wish so much that I would have gone with a smaller local builder that is already in this neighborhood. I have 15 years of residential and commercial construction experience and I have spoke to many of my mainvue neighbors and here are some things to be aware of if you are considering Mainvue: 1) Their houses are precut: This means the lumber is cut at a factory and then shipped to the site and is put together like LEGOS. This is to save money. This also means the framer, obviously rushed to get done, will just slap them all together. If a piece is warped and they dont have a spare to put in, they just put it in. All Mainvue homes wall are very wavy, you will notice this when putting in blinds and curtains or when you hang pictures and mount things to the wall. There are also hollow spots in walls around window headers that I would have never seen had it been built traditional stick framed. 2) They use cheap materials and it shows: They use "washable" flat paint on the walls which washes right off. It would have cost very little to go to eggshell or satin. This is a trick to hide wall imperfections (above) as those paints better show imperfections. The carpet is both thin in underlayment and thin in count. I constantly step on the tackstrips on the edges and stairs that should have been tamped down. Mainvue told me this was installed correctly. The sheet vinyl is cheap, out of place and not nice. They don't really caulk the floors so water will get under and warp the floorboards over time. The tubs are all very much plastic and feel cheap and hollow. Electrolux appliances are a terrible brand. The worst rated brand by Consumer Reports. It's not a selling point. They must get a killer deal to buy in bulk. Many of my neighbors have various issues, mostly with the dishwasher but the stove is impossible to keep clean and our microwave is having problems after 8 months here. 3) They cut corners were they can: Some of the circuits on the electrical panel are near maxed by code. We couldn't plug in our medium sized printer in the office cause it would trip the breaker every so often and cause the lights to flutter. They don't put wood backing for handrails and bathroom accessories. This is a massive safety issue. Our homes handrail started coming out of the wall when my parents slipped on the stairs and had to grab on. Over time things like TP and towel rods will come off. The landscaping gets the bare min treatment. The site prep work is overly compact and top soil is very, very thin. Depending on your home your new sod might not take despite $100's in watering, seeding, aerating and fertilizing. 4) They have a HORRIBLE warranty program. This is the reason I am here. They are slow, do a bad job and when the request is large they will ghost you or flat out ignore the problem. This is universal! Every neighbor I have talked to agrees with me. I also undervalued this piece of the equation of buying new home construction. Our issue is a fully compacted soil that needs to be amended. It is clear the drainage is not meeting the warranty description. No drainage is happening. The result is a dead lawn and soupy, muddy, flooded backyard. The ground is rotting and it stinks and is massive headache to try and fix. They are ghosting me on the issue and we will likely go to arbitration to get the soil amended and replanted. I'm feeling very much helpless over this issue. I would not recommend this builder to anyone. I could live with the home as we still love it despite the quirks and quality issues, but the warranty issues has me frustrated enough to write this review. We absolutely love our MainVue Home in Washington. I was hesitant at first because of the reviews on here, but MainVue is a good company to work with. Even the tradespeople who installed shades, blinds, and our closet said that things were pretty level for a new construction home where things are usually slapped together. It's been one year in this home and we have had no major issues. We enjoy personalizing various parts of the home to really make it ours! The homes are nice enough for the space and overall look, but they seem overpriced. The front steps are a little high for a person to navigate without a hand rail. If you're elderly or are less agile, the models don't always convey the true nature of the home you're eventually getting. Having at least one model home in the planned neighborhood would be ideal to get a feel for the area and the size of yards and adjoining lots. One could also get a sense of the interior light and space depending on time of day. This is a minimum to consider a $1,000.000.00 + home purchase listing. read more

We bought our MainVue home over two years ago, in Texas. Our purchasing experience was smooth and the salespersons were all very professional, knowledgeable and helpful. We have had some warranty issues, a few of which were rather significant (Master ensuite window leaking water), but our warranty rep. and the entire company have done nothing but take good care of us on every issue. We were not happy with the way our laminate wood floors were laid and MainVue had the entire floor pulled up and replaced. A few issues took more than one repair to get right, but each repair has been done to our satisfaction and we are EXTREMELY picky. We are saddened that MainVue has pulled out of Texas and will not be building here any longer. I'm surprised to hear so many negative reviews on the quality of their product and on their warranty service as we have had a VERY positive experience from the very beginning. read more

Warranty is horrible, cheap material, when warranty fixes something, it looks worse than it did to begin with. It took almost a year for them to replace a broke window (still waiting for second) we have had three so far that appear to be a manufacturer defect, most of our windows look like they have water damage, our side yard is flooded all the time, floor buckled, lights flicker, the list goes on and on. So disappointed to spend this much money on a home and have so many issues. I would not recommend mainvue for first time home buyers. read more

Just like ALL the home owners have posted on here about the warranty issues and repairs. Just an FYI for anyone that needs to get legal. Get a good construction defect lawyer to file a case against them. I have been having issues with them and keep asking them to repair items, and these are easy items to do. But they have EXCUSES, I asked them how is it that you don't know where the AC wire is ran because it looks like mine has a short in it. After a year of service calls they finally figured it out. Oh and by the way my AC doesn't work now. They won't have proof to back them up in court at all. No pictures. No nothing. They cover up quick half done repairs during construction. And now I have a dip in my hallway between bathroom and laundry. Carpets been re stretches 3 times and it's not done. All the little flaws we called out during the construction process and during our walk-through were addressed and fixed before closing, so we were able to move into a perfect home! This is a review for Mainvue homes in Frisco TX. While I like the great design and modern architecture, their construction, sales and customer service is below par. Very typical sales ( can relate to used car sales person), push all the hype but do not deliver. While the folks on the field are great, the sales team and management is pathetic. they have designed the neighborhood to maximize the number of house and maximum revenue for them. Did not plan well for common area like playgrounds. The quality of the materials is not that great. Has been about a year and we already see floor tiles peeling and more. Also do not be fooled by the model homes, the actual area of the house is much smaller is some cases. read more

I read the horrible reviews about Mainvue before we bought one and I should have listened to them. It's so true when you read about the warranty issues on these homes. Mainvue won't cover anything. We have nail hole bumps on our entire house banisters...they won't fix them. My 11 Year old could have done a better job. We were lied to on the property sale of our home. Walls are crooked Windows are not square Good luck finding someone who actually will call you back and cares about you. Buyer beware...once you close they move on. They won't cover anything structural in the home. I wish I wouuld have listened to my agent and to these reviews. Don't let the model homes fool you. Don't purchase a Mainvue home. If I could, I'd give them zero stars. What a complete disaster of a company! RUN AWAY FAR FROM THIS BUILDER. We have had so many issues with our brand new MainVue home, it is a joke. Luxury? Lol. Our bathtubs are all plastic. Upscale? No way. We have had broken A/C, cracks in our walls, our fences are wonky, our flooring was damaged by contractors, our kitchen cabinets are crooked and have to be re-done, our kitchen faucet has already been replaced. Tons of cosmetic fixes that need to happen...nails popping out all over. Just sloppy construction work. MainVue corporate does not respond, and we sent a detailed survey to them after moving in. They told us it could be "more than a year" to identify & fix everything. Don't waste your money, this builder is so incompetent, and the local construction staff just gets insulted when you ask them to do better & take pride in their work. Having buyers remorse & selling as soon as we can. I hope this changes people's minds about buying from MainVue...they are horrible! read more

I'm a MainVue homeowner since March 2019. I've had an excellent experience with this builder from beginning to end: sales, construction and post-closing. When I noticed issues during construction, they always agreed with me and fixed things quickly. There's barely been any issue since closing, but the few minor things I did find were addressed within a week. I've dealt with other builders before and this one has been the best. Something noteworthy about MainVue is that getting a good-looking home is simple. You won't need to ponder for days over hundreds of different options like what other builders put you through. MainVue will start you off with a base model that is already a stunning designer home; all you'll have to do is select a color scheme. You can then upgrade at your leisure from a simple list of options for things like AC, garage man door, etc. It's been 8 months now, and still every time I step into my home I just can't believe how beautiful it is! read more

While we have enjoyed our MainVue home for a few years - much personal work had to be done as MainVue Management involvement and warranty response is non-existent. Not a single MainVue employee has been to one of the Home Owner Association meetings, nor have they been interested in resolving any of the issues raised through the HOA management company Unfortunately, the Construction Managers in the Eaglemont build out are not any better. Their subcontractors constantly park on the No Parking side of the street (which caused a firetruck response to be critically delayed last weekend). MainVue is currently blatantly ignoring the Washington State Stay-At-Home order. Subcontractors working still, model home work still occurring, landscapers working, construction managers still at the office... As the MainVue personnel and Subcontractors don't live in the community here - they just don't care. read more

Homes are great but the warranty sucks. The warranty customer service people are very rude. They are not helpful at all. If you request a warranty they are very slow at getting back. They also forget to do a lot of work. They tend to misplace warranty related material. They also try to reschedule the warranty work so they don't have to come out that often. I think because they don't want to pay the construction and try to avoid it since things are only have a warranty period of 1 year. Had a very bad experience and wont recommend to any of my family, friend or colleagues. VERY DISAPPOINTED. read more

We have had a great experience with MainVue in the last year and a half starting with Greg Velasco helping us select our homesite, model, design features, negotiating the purchase and sale agreement, and main contact person during the 5-6 month construction process. Warren Bezanson, site manager, was also great to work with during the construction. Our move-in went flawless and we love our new home having moved in last Fall! I've owned 3 new construction homes now, so not new to this rodeo. Although I love the modern designs of the homes, as well as the good use of windows, after 2.5 years of owning a home with these guys I can say there are several key problems. * Although customer service was good through the sales process, after warranty these guys refuse to take ownership for anything, even items that have been filed under warranty before. * Quality of the construction is pretty low. Straight lines seem to be a problem, landscaping problems, poorly constructed fence, every door in the house has had problems, faucets popping out of the wall. All this in two years. I owned a home for 8 years in Colorado through a good builder and no problems. * Their warranty after year 1 is none existent. Forget what they tell you, they will not support anything. Ultimately the poor construction and lack of support post 1 year make it impossible to recommend them. You are truly taking your chances. read more

Where do I begin. The homes look beautiful from a far but they are built with the cheapest material and fall apart within months after being built. I don't even know where to begin to say all the damage that has been done in only six months. Floorboards are coming up, doors shut and then stick and you have to yank them open, we had a major plumbing issue, a rack in the closet completely fell, the paint they use is awful it's scuffs with the lightest touch, when we moved in the cabinet doors didn't open, the heating isn't correct... The most frustrating part is they are not helpful to get these things fixed. They almost blame you. We have talked to almost every single neighbor and they also have the exact same problems and more. Other people have already dealt with water coming through their windows and cracks in the ceiling. Our fireplace has a strong electric smell and our neighbors outside fireplace actually caught on fire and the guy who works for MainVue said well can you fix it? They do not care. For these homes to cost so much it is a shame how they are built. We will never buy MainVue again and we will steer everyone away from them. Get it together MainVue. We tried to buy a home from Mainvue, but was given a very hard time by their sales staff. There was poor responsiveness to emails and the staff displayed a bit of pretentiousness when we visited their model home site. They treated us as if we weren't good enough or rich enough to buy their homes. From a more objective perspective, their homes are a bit overpriced for what you get. 1.) Laminate floors. Much cheaper than hardwood. No option to upgrade. 2.) 2 cm quartz vs 3 cm quartz in the kitchen. 2 cm quartz is much cheaper and less durable than 3 cm quartz. No option to upgrade 3.) Vinyl floors in the bathrooms. Changing to tile is a 2-3k option 4.) No sprinkler system installed. Adding is a 4-5k option. 5.) No smart home features like an intelligent thermostat or doorbell 6.) Vinyl counters in secondary bathrooms 7.) Cheap 2.5 cm baseboards instead of the 5-7 cm you see in more expensive homes. No option to upgrade. 8.) Carpet on stairs. No option to upgrade to hardwood 9.) No open railing on stairs. It's just a wall. This looks really cheap. No option to upgrade 10.) No refrigerator, washer/dryer included. 11.) Faux wood cabinets. Only one style, and only one type of handle. No option to upgrade. 12.) No A/C standard. Adding A/C is a 6-7k option. For homes priced 700k+, you would expect better standard features. You will find better standards in many competing home builders like Quadrant, Garrette custom homes, Toll brothers, Lennar, etc. Anyway, do your homework before buying. There are better values out there so make sure you love their homes enough to justify the premium you are paying for their quite pedestrian standard features. read more

Here again on mainvue home in maple valley Wa. These builder people are crooks at best. We moved in December 2018 and immediately found out that very lound tickling noise at night at master bathroom which keep us from sleeping in 3 rooms of the house-very sound noise at night when the heater is on. Poor workmanship by mainvue. I contacted them immediately after closing, the project manager Ben ignored our request to fix. I had to call corporate and they direct us to the warranty lady- Carrie - she made apt for 2 months later but the handy man (called by mainvue) never showed up. Completely lies, irresponsible.. This builder is a literal joke! I would give it 0 stars if I could. Don't get me wrong, the homes are beautiful but they don't do ANYTHING they say they will. Our close was pushed back because they needed more time to complete repairs for us to find out on closing day they didn't do half of the items that were promised despite us extending the close. Examples include siding on exterior of house not completed, exterior light not installed, dry rot on the deck not repaired, paint overspray on tile and vinyl, 8 vinyl slats with drips of something damaging that don't come off, drywall missing in garage with insulation exposed, tile missing on exterior of house, address not even hung, holes left on walls...the list goes on! The construction manager conveniently moved a few weeks after we moved in, I was passed off to a lady named Carrie who does not respond to call or emails until you threaten her and then she just comes back with excuses and zero follow through until she eventually refuses to fix anything in the end saying that they are not part of the agreement. Many of my neighbors have shared with me the endless problems they have also had, to the extent of their house literally cracking, sagging and lopsided and the continued to do nothing. One is pursuing a lawsuit that I will be joining in as this has gotten completely out of hand and our house was over a MILLION dollars! I purchased my home over 4 years ago. When I first saw the models I was immediately enamored with the design, the quality, and the business model that MainVue follows. More the less its about the people/employees that believe in the MainVue value. After living in my home for over 3 years, I was forced into a remodel situation. It was not MainVues' responsibility to help me; as I said I purchased my home over 4 years ago. I reached out to Carrie McGinnis a Customer Service Specialist with MainVue, she went out her way to help me. I needed a particular part to restore my home to the original build. I looked everywhere, and was unable to locate the part. Carrie not only located the part but she delivered it to my home.. MainVue has won me over, they truly have a lifelong customer. Their homes are beautiful, but their customer service is horrendous. They will do whatever they can to build the house, get you in, and once they're out, they're gone forever because they got their money. They do a good job at least pretending to care within the first year. After your 1 year review, if you need anything else from them, they WILL ignore you. If you somehow get into contact with them, they will make every promise in the book and it is a GUARANTEE that they will not follow through on it. If you ever get into contact with the superintendent, Dale Friesen ask what you can because that will be the last time you ever hear from him. Everyone else that is on the Mainvue staff are not much better. It's as if they're trained to do this. In reading the rest of the reviews here, this seems to be common business practice for them. If you buy their home, just be prepared to be on your own after the first year because they will throw you aside fast. Good luck. read more

My hubby, my in-laws, and I had such fun looking at the model homes in the MainVue Model Home World this weekend! What a great idea to have a group of different model homes in one location for people to easily walk through! It's not only efficient, but its also gives MainVue so many opportunities to impress you with something for everyone. Before you get to the model homes, you have to walk through the sales offices. But don't panic, there won't be any clingy sales people pestering you the whole time. All they ask is that one in your party signs in with some personal info, and then you are free to tour the homes on your own. The eight model homes are arranged around a small cul-de-sac in the Park Haven sub-division of Bothell. The subdivision is gigantic with what looks like hundreds of houses all verrrrry close to one another. Don't let that deter you from coming to have a look. MainVue has many communities where they have houses for sale, some with much larger lots. The eight models range from about 2,500 square feet to just over 4,000 square feet, and all are two stories tall. Different models have 2 or 3 car garages. One model has a master suite on the first floor. A couple of the models have one of the guest rooms with an attached bath, which is nice for when company comes to visit. All of them are impeccably designed with clean, modern lines, very high end finishes, and extraordinary outdoor living spaces with a fireplace included. A couple of the models even come with a built in grill in the outdoor living space. All of these homes definitely please my design aesthetic and are very different than the more traditional homes we've seen with other new home builders in the area. All homes have a ton of storage space and huge windows to let in as much natural light as possible. My husband and I definitely fell in love with a couple of the models and will remember to look at MainVue Homes when we are ready to buy in a couple of years. It would be a dream to live in one of these spectacular homes! P.S. We arrived at 11:30 am on a Sunday, shortly after they opened for the day and we basically had the homes to ourselves for a solid hour. Closer to 1pm there started to be a lot of visitors. The customer service warranty is a joke. Our home is less than a year old and we had problems with the home right away. We had issues with breakers tripping right from the get go. Getting ice from the door popped the breaker, using a vacuum popped the breaker, turning the lights on/off in the master bath popped the breaker. A small portion of the siding fell off this summer. The sliding glass door to the outdoor living area has been a major headache since day one. The door is throwing metal shavings and it's an every day chore for me to keep clean. Now the shavings from the door have started to embed into the kitchen floor. I spray dry silicone into the door track 2 times a week and have to clean the metal shavings daily. They have come out to "fix" the issue, adjust the door track, yet the shavings keep coming. I want the door replaced and have called the warranty department, now we wait and see what they do. Don't even get me started on the paint inside and out. Knowing what I know now, I would NEVER of bought Mainvue. If you buy be prepared to feel like your nit picking when problems arise with your home. read more
