We had a great experience with Mainstream Landscape. Edward and Betsey were great to work with. They saw our vision and helped us develop a plan. They were also able to pivot when we wanted to make changes. They were very responsive and took care of problems that arose throughout the project. We had a big project, fixing existing French drain issues and adding extra drain lines, 1200 sq/ft of pavers, fire pit, sitting wall, planter box, lighting. setting new fence posts and setting posts for a pergola we will build later. Their crew was amazing. Very respectful, always willing to answer my questions and explain processes. We are very happy with the results. Edward, Betsy and the whole team at Mainstream made our backyard patio project fun! They were so easy to work with and went above and beyond to make our patio dreams come true. We originally were going to go with a smaller patio because other companies saw our irrigation lines as a problem they couldn't work around but Mainstream assured us they could move them. Our patio ended up being a much larger and usable space thanks to them and we are so excited about it! We hired Mainstream Landscape to redo our front approach. It was a big job and the installation looks good. The crew is an absolute delight to work with. However, after the job was finished, we realized that we had been charged and invoiced for stump removal that had not been done. When we asked about that we were told that they had cleaned and sealed the install to compensate for the stump not being removed. This job was half-done. I have contacted Mainstream Landscape 5 times in the last six weeks (text, email, and website contact) in an attempt to resolve this with no response. Overall super pleased with the work. We get compliments every day on our beautiful new front approach. Just would have liked to end the same way we started. That's the only reason for less than five stars! read more

Updated review: Edward called me after posting my first review and sent two men out for two additional hours to wipe up the mud from the house/windows and clean up the yard a bit more. Somehow, our melted Halloween pumpkin still remains in the yard, but it is looking cleaner now. In addition, the crew detected a gas smell and called me to tell me to call nw natural who confirmed the leak and fixed it. Three stars for overall experience, additional fourth star for catching the gas leak. First review: Not impressed. They were able to get me a quote and then come the next day to do the work. They were at my house for a total of three hours. In past years, we've hired roughly the same number of people and they've been at the house for the whole day. That's not to say that working efficiently isn't good, but this was done very quickly. They cleaned up all the leaves and took them away, blew the walkways and driveways, and treated the moss on the roof. They did not clean the roof. They also sprayed the patio, but when they did so they got mud all over the side of the house and all of the windows. They did not clean it up. All of the grass has remnants of the leaves, and all of the bushes are full of mud and all the leaves. It does not look clean. It was done too quickly. And it was expensive. read more

Edward responded quickly to my inquiry for a bid to improve a back yard space, either with a stone patio or installing sod. We decided to go with the sod due to having young children and a fairly small yard, to provide them with a play area. After receiving a few earlier bids on the patio we knew that we'd have to build up the space with a wall to level out the lawn area. After we discussed the plan and agreed to the price, Edward had a team in place only 3 days later. They were able to complete the job in approx. 6 hours, expertly and friendly. So far (3 days later) we are very pleased with the work, and will maintain the new sod as instructed by Edward. read more

I purchased a 1/2 price deal for 4 man hours of work from this business ($199). They came and gave us an estimate for what we wanted done....weeding and spraying and bark dust. A small and very simple job - not a big front or back yard with minimal vegetation to remove.. The estimate was verbal and was to include the front and back yards The estimate was overpriced ($650)- especially when you consider the 4 hrs of labor already paid for. We requested a written break down of the estimate and received a marginal outline of the costs. But, we went ahead with the job. BIG MISTAKE!! The red flags were there and sure enough, there were problems. The crew arrived and got to work.....no problem at first...until they ran out of bark dust. The crew called the office and the office stated we needed to pay and additional $325 for more bark dust. They had already started work on the back yard when they had to stop. When we objected, the office then claimed the back yard was not included in the estimate. After that call, we declined to go further with the job. My husband tried calling and emailing the office to discuss this with them but the calls and emails were blocked. So ..... don't deal with these people unless you have a strong detailed estimate in writing. For a simple job we didn't think we would have any problems...be careful! Oh yeah....another way they add charges to your job....if you live outside the Beaverton area....we were 1.5 miles outside the 15 mile limit that they usually cover....although they work as far as West Linn and Oregon City according to their web site. read more

I just had a new paver patio installed in two days in my backyard. Edward came over prior and measured the backyard and told me exactly what the job would cost. He suggested a paver - Jamestown Blend - and a pattern - Muster K, and after finding pics of those online I agreed that would be very nice in my backyard. The job was completed quickly and masterfully. The man who did the patio is a master craftsman and an artist. His assistant was friendly, stayed right on top of his jobs so that the installation could move along smoothly and in a timely manner. My backyard is absolutely gorgeous and I couldn't be happier. I have had Mainstream Landscape Maintenance come over and do smaller jobs but I have to say, they did an amazing job on the paver patio for exactly what Edward had quoted. I did receive a very professional written statement of exactly what work would be done and the charge and that is exactly what I paid.
