When asked if there were any resources or help during this time, I was once again reminded of the "company line". It had the only eye doctor that did not give me a disrespectful hard time about refusing eye dilation. Dr. Vachon's exam and diagnosis, even with my cataract, was spot-on and I can now see things I've not seen in years. Eye dilations are for medical diagnosis only and not needed just to get an updated vision prescription. In fact, the only poor eye exam prescription outcomes I've had in my entire life - 4 of them in 2 states - were the result of eye dilations and the exams had to be redone every time, even when an ophthalmologist did them - at an average additional cost of $60! Penobscot's optician, Rebecca, also did an excellent job with their selection of frames and with fitting and finish work and my new glasses were ready in half the estimated time. I would highly recommend Penobscot Eye Care to anyone.

I needed to get a new pair of glasses for my hospitalized grandfather and his prescription was complex. Lise drove over an hour to the hospital where my grandfather was, to find the perfect glasses and fit for him. When the glasses came in (within a week), she drove back down to deliver them and make sure that the fit was good. She also gave us a fantastic price on the glasses. The support staff is friendly and helpful, the hygienists and dentists have always been great, and I've no complaints. Dr. Barrett is tops. When I broke a tooth recently, she squeezed me in the same morning I called. She administered local anesthesia with no pain and put in a crown quickly with no fuss. The bite is perfect. She explained the treatment options thoroughly and she took care that I was comfortable at all times. I highly recommend her.

Don't know what to think of this place. My Son has a mental dissability that's a bit obvious, He…read morehas had dental work prior. He came in today to have full mouth extractions , they decided to refuse Him because He wanted to be sedated and they don't sedate. He has also had a abscess tooth infection but Brandy said it wasn't acute. I've talked to several People who asked if they did blood work , I said no. They said she cannot determine the the severity without exrays and blood work. I didn't go in as I should of , it was said He tried to manipulate staff by wanting to be sedated. He wasn't combative just obviously mentally confused. Now they don't want to deal with Him unless He has a full consult and refuse to give Him antibiotics for infection. Something isn't right with this and I'm thinking mayby its a blessing in disguise. I left there confused cause He did come back in but they treated Him like He was a Alien I already mentioned He was mentally challenged ,Brandy said He was highly intelligent , not sure what that's sapose to mean either. The experience has left Me feeling numb. Oh and I was advised to take Him to Presquile to Dr Ford,1 Dr Ford has passed away several years ago. SMH!!
