Nice new farmers market in Buffalo. Larkin Square is making itself a daily destination…read more The farmers market vendors can change weekly so check the Larkin Square website for latest info. The stalls go through the whole area so be sure to take your time and see them all. I've seen fudge, beer, Jolie's dumplings, donuts, Koops hot sauce, and pretty much everything in between. There are even restaurants here serving food. I saw Taste of India. The Gelato Gypsy was here. Three Sisters tamale stand was here as well. They got their start at Larkin. On the craft front you can find handmade soaps, nice mounted photos of Buffalo, dog treats, hula hoops, jewelry, moccasins and more. You can even join the Buffalo Historical Society here. Like I said, a little bit of everything. If you get here early there is plenty of seating, some even in the shade. Very nice. You can use the same area to eat a tamale if you want. If you are lucky live music will be playing too. But of course there is always the Larkin Square piano to play if you want. Parking is difficult but manageable if you arrive closer to 4 than 6.

I hope my fellow Yelpers had a chance to make it out to Larkin Square on a Thursday evening (between 4-7:30pm) this year to experience the Larkin Market. New this year, Larkin Square created another weekly event (Tuesdays - Food Truck Tuesday; Wednesdays - Live at Larkin; and now Thursdays - Larkin Market) so people could come on down and enjoy an evening of "social shopping." This market is perfect - in my opinion. You could grab fresh ingredients to make dinner for the upcoming week, grab some beer or wine, fresh flowers, gifts - possibly for a host, all kinds of great, quality, unique products. I also loved "Paperette" who had all kinds of paper products and some creative stationery sets. I believe she has an Etsy site. In addition to vendors with products to take home to enjoy, there's also Public Espresso + Coffee, an amazing tamale truck - Three Sisters Tamale, Ashker's handing out samples of fresh pressed juices, Duke's Donuts, a couple food trucks, and other food vendors. I seriously looked forward to Thursday evenings all summer (up until last week when it ended for the season) because I knew I could stroll the market with a cup of Public coffee, grab some tamales for dinner, and have Duke's Donuts for dessert while sitting at the provided tables and chairs. Very relaxing experience. Here's to hoping Larkin Square brings back the Larkin Market next year and while it could stand to have some more shoppers at the square, I hope it remains somewhat tranquil.
