Called them for an eyeglass repair and for my potential new eyeglass shop since my shop moved away. On the phone they told me they didn't have the small very common part for my rimless eyeglasses and did not seem interested in getting a new customer. They referred me to another eyeglass place...?! My old eyeglass shop would have told me to come in and they would have installed the part for free, especially when they knew I was in the market for a new eye exam and 3 pairs of glasses. Called today when the dog accidentally scratched my 2 yrs old eye. They got me in right away. The staff was absolutely amazing with her. The doctor did awesome with examining her eye. If I could give negative stars I would. RUN from this place!!!! I went here for glasses and contacts. The girls who run this place are NOT PROFESSIONAL!! Rude, and lied in front of me to another employee. Literally couldn't answer medical questions regarding contacts. She wrote down on a little note pad, after I requested information the length of duration to begin wearing them. Nothing on the care of them. Not even paperwork to refer to. They are glorified salespersons. DONT TRUST YOUR EYE CARE TO A NON MEDICALLY TRAINED FACILITY. They sell nice glasses tho. They COULD NOT even get my lenses in the glasses correct!! The staff is super as they helped me pick the perfect frames and made sure I understood what my insurance covered and what I was responsible for. I am only sharing this because of my horrible recent experience with this office. I have been a patient at MPO for a little over 2 years with no issues. This time however was different. I came in for a routine eye exam and to have new prescription lenses put into a current pair of frames (black/brown frame and red temples-Tory Burch). I was informed the lenses had to be ordered, and they would call me when the lenses came in so that I can drop them off. Done. I returned to pick up the frames on Saturday 8/8 and discovered both temples were dark, almost black. I informed the attendant/associate and she even replied (after looking them over) "they look burned" and I agreed. She informed me that she would let the tech know and that they would fix it. The person was not working that day, but would be in Tuesday 8/11. Received a call from Katie (technician I presume) this afternoon stating they did nothing to damage my frames and that it appears to be "hair dye". I was taken aback by her comment, but proceeded to inform her that I do not wear hair dyes or have any chemicals in my hair. She then asked if "maybe you just never noticed"? How dare you!!??! I have worn glasses my entire life and know what they looked like when I left them in your care. For her to insinuate that I was the at fault party was flat out disrespectful and rude! I'd hate to think I received such unprofessional and rude service because I am a black woman, as I have not had any issues here in the past, but this took the cake. Never have I experienced such disgraceful customer service until yesterday. I have been a customer since i was 12, so roughly 15 years, back when they were across the street. The doctor helped me put in my first pair of contacts. So a while ago I had an eye exam and the doctor said I now had slight astigmatism so he gave me 2 different trial contacts. I called a few days later to tell them that both pairs of these new astigmatism contacts felt too big and hurt my eyes. They would pop out if i even rubbed my eyes. So i asked if i could go back to my original contacts tht i never had a problem with for the past 10+ years, but all she did was order more astigmatism trials. At this point my eyes were so irritated i just used the contacts i still had even though the weren't as strong in prescription as the new ones, but atleast my eyes didnt hurt anymore. So i just dealt with it and never pickd up the other trials. Well i guess im the worst customer in the world for not leaving work or school early to pick up contact trials that i couldn't wear anyways. I explained multiple times that i am never free any day during their store hours. I explained im a single parent and i go to school more than full time and have 2 jobs. I was only off mondays and they are closed. I'm guessing the front lady has issues with someone close to her lying or something because she automatically thought i was lying. So when i finally ran out of my old contacts i had to call again to ask for more trials, but they still wouldn't give me non-astigmatism contacts so i just said fine nd tried another astigmatism brand that i had to pay $25 for one pair. Withing 2 days my left eye was severely irritated to the point i am wearing 7 year old glasses that are giving me a severe headache. So i called and pretty much begged to just go back to buy the old kind. She just insisted i had to come pay for another eye exam because since i had not purchased any contacts recently that i was clearly just scamming for free trials.......that i paid for......yep .........im not buying a box of contacts that i cant wear!!! Are you insane? The attitude and belittlement that came out off her mouth was just pure trash. She lied and said i had received more trails than i really did. I never picked up the other ones, but because i never picked them up i guess it still counts as me getting free trials.......ok.......i get that she may have never had to work hard, i get her job is so easy and she thinks shes better, but how dare you treat me like a criminal for not taking time off in the middle of work to come an hour from work and an hour back to pick up contacts that hurt. If i was scamming for free contacts dont you think i would have got as many as possible???? Im sorry my eye health and pain matter to me. Never was i allowed to talk to the doctor to explain any of this, and judging by her brattituds she never did either. Never will i go here again. No, no, NO! Do not waste your time going to this RACIST optical! Please remember that no good deed goes unpunished. I have plenty of proof that this place and the representatives are classless sending ignorant text messages, lying and belittling people. My mother called regarding her insurance as Katie stated that my mother was denied another pair of glasses until Jan 2021. In confusion, we asked why because we had not been in there since December of 2019 and had not yet used her benefits this year. In December I paid for my mothers glasses as a gift for Christmas, which brings even more confusion because she didn't use her insurance! I BOUGHT her glasses cash! In addition to the 2 pairs of Raybans that I had purchased for myself in the amount of $300 each, not including what she charged the ins company for the lens. Then, we brought it to Katie's attention and asked if she can take a look at my mothers frame that had mysteriously had a crack in them after her visit on Saturday, 07/18/20, when she had them adjusted. Katie stated that she would look into the "warranty" and call her back. Unbeknownst to the client (my mother), Katie sends a nasty text message instead of a call back stating that we accused her staff and husband of breaking her glasses and gluing them back together. However, NOWHERE in the conversation was anything mentioned about glue or about being put back together. Which further validated that they DID in fact know what happened because nobody ever mentioned glue or breaking. We said, "I noticed there was a crack on my frame when I put my glasses on and they tangled in my hair". I was at my mothers job dropping some food off to her when this scandal happened. Had this been a tiny situation, where their customer service skills fell through, again, we would have settled our losses and found a different optical place. However, when we were met with an aggressive text message with FALSE accusations and an even angrier phone call it prompted my need to write a review. Katie proceeded to belittle my mother and the type of insurance she had, as well as paint a false narrative of my mother being the aggressor when all she wanted was Katie to look into an insurance question and look into helping her with the crack in the frame which WE would've paid for. Instead of her assuming we wanted a free-be, she should have communicated professionally, as I am on this review. There is no need for slander but there is a need for TRUTH! If anyone was slandered it was my mother. If my mother was met with a little human decency and a shred of communication skills, as owner of a local business we supported and recommended for years, we would have, again, settled for going to another office. We just thought we were staying loyal. They will never have my business again and we will be taking Katie's advice to leave her office, like she stated, seeing as it is too difficult for her to find it in her heart to service us, we will no longer be clients, per Katie's request. I wonder if we had been a different race, if we would've been met with a different attitude and painted a different narrative of us Latinos. Sad but true. Hopefully she learns to manage her anger better and service all of her clients equally, even the ones "with crappy insurance". Which should be a plus for her because our "crappy insurance" means we pay more cash out of pocket. Please Katie, do not bother trying to rebuttal because the phone messages we were met with were not called for and we will not hesitate to also showcase them. The Optometrist is incompetent and the staff receptionist is very rude. I had an eye exam there and was given the wrong prescription in my glasses. When I notified the office of the error, they told me I was wrong and must have given him the wrong answers while he was doing the eye exam! (Who would do that?) I never received my corrected lenses and I contacted the better business bureau and the Optometrist licensing board and they could not locate him ( so they say). Anyway, I would be very leery of seeing this optometrist! read more
