La Hacienda De Jalisco is a good spot to grab some good Mexican food in Llano. You walk through the…read moredoor, and you quickly have the Taqueria feel I surely love. You can always tell you are at the right place when everyone's head is down focusing on their meal. I am not sure anyone noticed we walked in except the lady at the counter, and she let us know we could seat ourselves and someone would be with us shortly. We quickly took our seats. My favorite Mexican dish is cheese enchiladas and that is exactly what we got! We shared them along with the barbacoa. I am not sure which one I liked best, but I really enjoyed sharing them both... so that is what I would suggest. And of course, I had to order one of my very favorite drinks, a strawberry Jarritos! So good! It is not a full meal without a dessert, right? Welp, we ordered the Tres Leches Cake, and it was fabulous. There was not a clean plate left on the table. We even made burritos out of the homemade tortillas, rice and beans. I had to waddle on out of this fine establishment, ha! You can bet I will waddle back in the next time I visit too! Below are the menu items we enjoyed... ENCHILADA PLATE Three Enchiladas with your choice of Beef, Chicken, or Cheese. Served with rice & beans. BARBACOA & EGGS Mexican BBQ & (2) Eggs, beans & potatoes TRES LECHES CAKE

WHAT A WONDERFUL SURPRISE!!! Super beautiful and friendly, like walking into a beautiful museum... it is a very special place, all natural and healthy, a pleasure to speak to the owners and to sit there and relax. We tried the "flu shot" it was awesome and delicious, same with the smoothies, the piña colada and 3 others people in my party tried, we walked out also with fresh farm eggs... I would drive to Llano just to come back to this place...

To clarify, it's affordable, you can do a 1 day membership ($2), a week, a month up to a year. But it's still an inconvenience. I got some local honey and a smoothie. Pina colada to be exact. It was really good. The place is super cute with a vintage earthy feel. Lots of neat things to buy. I'm not super into foods like this or I could elaborate more, sorry!! The lady that worked there was really nice too. I will definitely go back.

Lost Roads Baking Company - Sourdough bread

I came here specifically for the sourdough bread. They had a full rack on display and fortunately,…read moreI have come late enough that it was okay to have sliced. The short is the sourdough bread was just okay. I find almost all sourdough bread in TX seems to be undercooked and I'm not sure why. And all the sourdough I have experienced in TX has a different flavor than traditional sourdough bread. It also seems quite heavier than a traditional sourdough. I did ask for it be sliced but the slices were incredibly thick. Easily twice the width of a normal slice of bread. Given the heaviness of this bread and seemingly undercooked that thickness is not ideal. I have certainly had thick sourdough slices before, but those were traditional, cooked and lighter. Maybe the person could have changed the thickness but it wasn't offered. Lastly, when checking out... I was charged 3% for using a credit card. I was informed beforehand and it is displayed... but this doesn't make it okay. As a business owner myself, I know I can deduct bank charges for using a credit card. So, you are charging me 3% and you are taking a deduction from taxes. But to top it off... after charging me 3% more... the server wanted me to provide a tip! Oh, sorry... she just said "the screen is going to ask you a question". What question? Why don't you just come right out and say "I want a tip"? But tip for what? And it's $11 for a loaf of bread.

While the atmosphere is wide open providing spacious seating, the comfort of seeing so many happy families dining was joyous. Since this is my first trip to the new restaurant from the same folks that brought you the Iguana Grill off of 620, the 4* rating reflects what I could reasonably provide. Let's get to food. The pull pork nachos, soft pretzel (huge worth splitting), and chips:queso were excellent starters. I do want to try their fried pimento cheese balls the next time. All great. For salad, I tried their Da Bomb with Turkey which was a bit of disappointment since it had scant cuts of Turkey deli meat. Feedback to this salad is to never ever use deli meat in a salad. Try streak, shrimp, or chicken. I also recommend higher quality fresh cheese like mozzarella or goat but the bomb had inexpensive grated Colby. I would also recommend glazed walnuts and berries but it didn't have either. For entree, I really want to come back and try their gumbo and e'toufee but decided on the sirloin which was cooked to medium. They also have several steak sauces included chimmichurri and hollondaise. Drinks were great. Recommendation. The service can slow down on the weekend when they get busy.

I had see it recommended by so many people and I'm happy to report that it lived up to the hype (and still impressed me)! NOTES: - Reservations: no... walk in only - Parking: a few spots on the side of the building but free street parking nearby as well - Closed on Wednesday THE HIGHS: - Our server, Kevin, was PHENOMENAL... he was friendly but fast and efficient! - Coffee was strong and refilled constantly - Food came out quickly and everything was fresh - Not a single bad bite... everything was delicious! THE LOWS: - I wish I had more stomach space to try other items! THE PRICE: An absolute STEAL for how good the food is! - Country Biscuit and Sausage Gravy ($13.50 + $1 for cheese added to scrambled eggs) - Josephine ($13) - Short Stack Pancake ($6) - Biscuit ($2.50) - Side of Grits ($4) The total was $44.50 after tax ($3.30) and a credit card processing fee ($1.20) but before tip. (We also got coffee but weren't charged for it) BEST BITES: - Josephine (biscuit was thick and soft, egg was fried perfectly, brie cheese was creamy and delicious, honey ham added the perfect savory element, and the fig preserves added a nice touch of sweetness) - Pancakes (thick and fluffy... everything you'd want them to be) - Grits (simple but delicious... I've had a lot of grits and these were the perfect texture) THE VERDICT: This was my first visit to Sunset Grill after seeing it recommended by so many people... it was a must-try while in Fredericksburg and it was one of my favorite meals of the trip! The service was fantastic, the prices are affordable, and the food is top-tier for comfort breakfast. I already can't wait to come back and will recommend it to everyone I know visiting Fredericksburg!
