All food is over priced. With that being said the food is over cooked, bland and disappointing. I remember when Chinese food was delicious and already treat. Now , the food is bland tasteless overcooked garbage. The fried rice is literally rice with bits if pork ,beef or chicken. What happened to the the vegetables like carrots, peas, onions and egg???? Chinese take out used to be the go to for a no cook night. Now it's if we have the extra money to afford it. Pizza is cheaper and very good so as far as im concerned it's not worth purchasing. Food Is Excellent it's hard finding a good Chinese food restaurant but look no further the food is really good here.

I gave this two stars because the delivery driver was really nice but that's about it. I ordered crispy noodles and a spring roll along with a few other things. I bit into what I thought was a spring roll but it was actually shrimp. I am vegetarian so biting into shrimp was not pleasant for me at all. I tried to call three times but everyone would say hold on and I'd get disconnected. The last time I called they said they'd have the manager call me back and she never did. After that I was looking forward to eating the crispy noodles that I paid 90 cents for and they were extremely stale. Couldn't even eat them. I guess I'm not getting my money back and I will prob never order from here again. read more

Worst fried rice. Bought fried rice yesterday ~ it was only onions and lots of them and pork !! No egg ~ light in color~ no taste and no veggies at all except those onions! Terrible. I have eaten here since day 1 and always loved it. However, I've noticed that lately, they seem to be substituting quantity over quality. We ordered last night. Crab Rangoon has next to no filling. This is one of the 10,001 takeout Chinese restaurants in my neighborhood. I will continue to try try them all, until I find a good one. it's a very stereotypical place - fluorescent lighting, a fish tank with a few goldfish, four formica-topped tables in the waiting area, an array of backlit photos of Chinese food displayed over the counter. As if you didn't know what a plate of diced chicken with cashew nuts looks like. The dishes I tried were a mixed bag. The homemade wontons in the wonton soup were good, but the broth was watery. The scallion pancake was tasteless shoe leather, but at least it wasn't greasy. The crabmeat in the crabmeat fried rice was fake, of course, and the rest of the dish was lackluster, with little or no vegetables in it. The plain white rice was gummy, and tasted like plastic. The chicken in black bean sauce was very tender, and the dish had some nice, crunchy stir-fried onions in it, but the sauce was flavorless. The orange chicken was not as crispy as I like it, but the meat was tender, and the flavor was pretty good balance of sweet citrus tang and hot spiciness. The food I tried was mediocre overall, but edible. I won't come back here again, but it wasn't so terrible as to deserve a negative rating. Main Star earns three stars. read more

This place opened up like 3 years ago near my mother-in-law's house. It is right next to one of my favorite japanese place Osaka. Their delivery is fast and the food is still piping hot. They have a lunch special from 11am to 3pm. And they offer brown rice for no extra cost which is pretty cool. Delivery minimum is like $10. Not bad at all. My favorite dish here is their Orange Chicken which is pretty good. As good as Saga Wok which has the best orange chicken I think. I love their crispy shrimp with walnuts and has red szechuan sauce over a bed of broccoli. Their buffalo wings arent bad either for 5.59 bucks you get 10 pieces. Thats highway robbery! Id order here again anytime im visiting the area. read more

I personally really like Main Star Chinese. As far as Chinese delivery goes it's a notch above. I really like their General Tsos, though I try to avoid it to be healthy. I also like that they offer brown rice in addition to fried and white rice. I order from here frequently for lunch, and I'm always really pleased. read more

I tried Main Star a number of years ago because it was getting good reviews. Since then it has been my family's favorite Chinese restaurant. It passed my wife's "Egg Roll Test" (good and crispy) and it passed my "General Tso's Chicken" test (crispy and with a nice spicy kick). The service is very good. read more

I'm from summit and lacking a great Chinese food place. Main star is definitely one to try! I had their steamed dumplings, chicken fried rice and egg drop soup. I loved all the food. Delivery was average, but the food made it worth the wait. I was able to order online so I didn't have to talk to anyone, which was a plus. read more

This used to be a good place many years ago, as an other posters wrote, the current attitude and sometimes food are terrible. I went in about a month ago, and did not even get the courtesy of anyone looking up from their phone (there were three individuals sitting around doing nothing). When someone finally did look up, he threw a menu at me. I already knew I wanted boneless ribs, and ordered a small. Well small does not describe it. This was tiny, extra small. I commented on the portion size and the person said, you get small, that small (mind you he was still looking at the phone in between talking with the others). This portion did not even cover the bottom of the plastic bowl. I thought I would try one last time today. I called about 10 minutes before 3 pm lunch menu ended, but my phone kept dropping (several times, I was able to make the order, but the phone dropped before confirming). After moving to all areas of the house, I finally was able to keep a steady call, about 3 minutes after 3. The person said, lunch menu is not being offered, that is dinner now, even though this was the same person who picked up the phone previously. When I said, 'you are going to charge a different price for three minutes when you know I called before and the phone dropped', she said lunch is not offered. I don't know who took over from the previous owners, but they have been horrible for years. This is the first time I am doing a review, because of their terrible service, attitude, and the decline in food quality over several visits, it is well deserved. Oh for posters who say it just opened in the last few years, it was here in 1999, and probably long before that. Unfortunately the current owners have run it down from the quality it used to have. This is the last time for me, and I will not recommend it to friends, as another poster said, enough. read more
