We chose Pine Street for a full house remodel (replacing electric, plumbing, major structural…read morerevisions) of an historical home in the West Chester borough. Our primary objective was the highest quality work that would preserve the historical aspect of the home, but fully modernized and at the lowest reasonable cost. Nearly three years since we engaged them and we continue to feel like that was the best decision we could have possibly made. The essential things that made this experience wonderful for us, particularly as first-time home renovators, were the detailed planning and rigorous project management, the quality of craftsmanship and expert network, and the incredibly warm professionalism and care of the team. In sum, they delivered below our initial cost projections and ahead of time -- nearly the opposite of all the horror stories we've heard about some of the other crews. In the beginning, it was a very difficult decision to choose Pine Street. Their cost projections were higher than their competitors by A LOT. I nearly dismissed them because of it. But the level of detail and thoughtfulness in the bid really won me over. When I questioned competitors about some of the detail included in the PS bid, they would always respond that if that happened, they would need to increase costs, etc. It really made me worry about what final costs would eventually be and I ultimately chose PS for their transparency and integrity. Perhaps the best element of the entire project was the onsite project manager. This is a person who will be your main point of contact throughout, who will have all of the answers and will ultimately know your home better than you do. This is an enormous gift and a real relief in what would otherwise be a stressful time. Ours would call us proactively, make great suggestions and recommendations (things that you just don't know as you begin, but that are revealed as you get started). For example, he had a piece of reclaimed barn wood in his garage that he used as an accent piece in a stairwell or, in another case, was able to use parts of the existing rafters as trim in the bedroom. These little things feel brilliant when you're trying to preserve the feel of the home and keep costs low -- and these are simply things we never could have anticipated in the planning stage. This role in your remodel can really magnify the experience as a client. Another aspect to consider is that Pine Street has cultivated a network of people they trust over years of experience and working together. Every single person who came through our house was knowledgeable, respectful and responsive. The team would not have allowed it to be any other way. Further, at the end of the project, they gave us a portfolio of contact information for each person that had worked on the house, so if anything goes wrong or we need some additional work, we have a network of folks that know the house and that we know we can trust (and who, by the way, will be very quick to respond out of respect for their relationship with Pine Street). Finally, the part that is hardest to articulate, is the warm professionalism that the team brings. You'll feel it first with Brendon when you call with your first inquiry, but you'll leave feeling nearly astonished that the entire team carries it forward: problems will be addressed and solved before you even hear about them; the site will be clean at the end of every day without fail; the team will stop what they're doing when you enter to make sure you can see and understand the steps that are being taken (and they never got impatient with our very frequent visits). Again, all things we didn't know before we started but ended up defining the quality of our experience. It is an important decision to choose the right partner in these efforts. I can get easily stressed out by the volume of decisions that need to be made and was vigilant about costs and timing. The Pine Street team exceeded most of our expectations and left us knowing we made absolutely the right decision.

This was a big project organizing lots of materials, people--including us, the clients and juggling unexpected structural issues, so of course there were a few minor hiccups along with way and the project took a bit longer than initially expected, but this was in part because of change orders we made. All in all, a great experience. This was our first renovation and it was as painless as you can get. We've been recommending Pine Street for the high quality, good design suggestions and smooth process.

He has an incredible work ethic and really takes pride in the job he does. He's very respectful of the property and does his best to minimize property owner inconveniene. When facing unanticipated challenges, he works out solutions rather than go to a change order. He finished our bathroom (gut rehab in a 100 year old house) on budget with everything square, level, and plumb. Great skills, patience in providing explanations, and just overall an amazing guy. Absolutely would hire him again. Just a terrific experience.

We hired KMC Construction (Kyle) for our bathroom remodeling project after speaking with several…read moreother contractors. KMC's quote was reasonable, but what set them apart from the very beginning was Kyle's superb attention to details. His project description was unparallel...from how he would cover the floor, to the specific brand/type of grout he would use, to the exact type of fittings he'd install behind the shower...talking about being meticulous. Others would just give a two-liner description and a ridiculously higher quote. I have hired many contractors for different types of projects for the house, but I NEVER came across someone who is a caring person like Kyle. Get this, he noticed a flat tire on my wife's SUV. I was going to call AAA, but before I could blink he drove out of the driveway, went to the local automotive store, bought a flat tire repair kit and fixed the flat tire! What contractor would do that? As for his craftsmanship, Kyle is a true example of a perfectionist. I am not exaggerating, each step of the project from demolition of a 4" thick concrete wet bed, to framing the walls and the niches, to tiling/grouting, to painting the wall/ceiling/trims...he did everything painstakingly. He was very helpful, understanding, cooperating and again CARING person whom anybody should hire without a hesitation. He truly goes far and beyond. He not only works around your budget, but also throws in freebies (and they are not cheap freebies, they are more involved work, like moving the floor plumbing system for the vanity to behind the wall, or installing additional stuff like the vanity lights, medicine cabinets, etc. etc.) to make your bathroom completely transformed into something that you could ever imagine of. He worked straight through weekends, stayed late hours, and made absolutely 100% sure that everything was done correctly, and beautifully right from the beginning. Bottomline is this: if you want just a contractor to do your job there are plenty of them in the market. But if you want a truly caring craftsman to do the job and treat your home as his own, Kyle at KMC Construction is DEFINITELY your guy. He does not rush, or cut corners to get the job done quicker...that's not Kyle's style. For example, one of the features of our brand new Moen shower head was not functioning, for which Moen sent us a new replacement. Kyle offered to drive all the way (over 30 miles) to our house just to install it for us. I never heard of any contractors offering this kind of a service. Will we hire Kyle for future projects? You bet we will. And I would even go out and offer my email address (ghosh.asim@gmail.com, put "Kyle/KMC" in the subject line) if you need further information or references. Trust me, you won't go wrong hiring Kyle. In fact, you might get hooked to his fine craftsmanship and honest pricing that you would end up having him do other projects in your house.

Turns out it needed better screws in the hinges. This didn't result in a discount. I didn't fight it because he spent about 12 hours 'fixing the dry wall'. Promised that it would be paint ready, which to me means excess dry wall cleaned up textured, and seams smoothed. Several spots were missed the first day, but addressed by revisiting the provided the second day. At the end of the second day when he finished the same cracks were still visible with just a massive amount of dry wall going away from the cracks. Along with that things were patched that were on the list with so much mess I had to remove the spackle and do the spot again. He also didn't texture anything during cleanup so things are not paint ready. On top of the amount of mess left behind, I spent hours this weekend cleaning up dust and starting to correct the work. I was hoping this would save me hours of work cleaning and sanding drywall myself. This is not the case between needing the work redone and the cleaning. I wouldn't recommend them for dry wall work.

From the very first consultation to the final finishing touches, John was not only the lead on the project but also wore multiple hats as the designer, general contractor, and master craftsman. His level of dedication and skill at every stage was both rare and remarkable. What truly sets John apart is his proactive approach and clear communication. He kept me fully informed throughout the process, always offering creative solutions and thoughtful suggestions that elevated the overall design. His eye for detail, paired with his craftsmanship, transformed my kitchen into a space that's not only functional but truly beautiful. Equally important, John was incredibly fair and transparent--qualities that are just as valuable as the technical skills. It's clear he takes great pride in his work and genuinely cares about delivering a top-tier experience. If you're considering a renovation and want someone who brings passion, talent, and integrity to the table, I can't recommend John highly enough. These rooms were demolished "to the studs" and completely rebuilt. We were very pleased with the work he and his colleagues did, have asked him to do other work on our house, and recommend him strongly. Johnanthony brings to his work excellent building skills, great intelligence and creativity, perseverance, honesty, kindness, and friendliness--and a fine sense of humor, an important asset in dealing with the frustrations of renovation work. And there were a lot of frustrations on our jobs. Our house was not well designed, and many shortcuts were taken in its construction. Being a kitchen-and-bath-renovation general contractor is a very difficult profession, as you're constantly fitting new wiring, plumbing, appliances, and other work--all the fundamental systems that make a house work--into an existing structure, rather than being able to "start fresh". In our case, the difficulty was increased by the "inherited" problems in our house. And we had problems with delays and incorrect shipments from suppliers, and we caused some problems by changing our minds about some things. Throughout all of this, Johnanthony worked hard and thoughtfully to solve problems, to figure out new ways of doing things as the structure of the house required initial plans to be modified. When problems came up, he worked with us to solve them. When we had warranty issues--bad finish jobs on a couple of our cabinet doors--he made sure that the vendor replaced them, and installed the new ones at no cost to us. Johnanthony was very consultative with us and made it clear that our happiness with our new rooms was his highest priority. We felt that Johnanthony's pricing was fair, and he was very clear about his billing process. We felt that he was completely honest.

Last March 2024, during an especially windy day a country club's tree came down and whacked the rear of my house, starting from the highest roof, ripping down wires and landed on my detached garage where it sat until PECO could make it safe. I initially gave the go ahead for my insurer, who I'll call SF, to send out a contractor to assess the damage. Well someone came out, slapped a tarp on the hole in the garage, but seemed dismissive of the house damage. And then I heard nothing for the longest time. So, getting concerned I called Impriano to get their opinion, as is my right, since I had a good experience with them 13 years ago with a new roof. Jack Impriano came out and did a very thorough inspection finding a lot more damage than SF's contractor did, including a split rafter in the garage roof. He looked at the plan for repair that the adjuster had drawn up finding it completely inadequate, so he drew up his own. He basically worked directly with the adjuster, all while updating me about what was going on. There were many problems such as the SF contractor sending the wrong information to SF that led them to believe the work was complete when nothing was repaired. The contractors invoice included pictures that wasn't even my property. Jack Impriano handled everything, everything is repaired/replaced, their crew came out in the most inhospitable weather and did an excellent job. You could tell how well done my 13 year old roof was when shingles were removed. It's amazing how nice our new roof and siding looks. It's peace of mind working with a company that takes pride in their work, and there's good reason they've been around for so long. I didn't realize they also handle windows which is on my to do list. I don't think I would trust anyone else. Thank you Jack and Ed and the rest of your hard working crew, including the office, you guys were great, can't thank you enough.
