These guys need some reviews. So we're adding ours. We went to them a few years back with my…read moreparents' car, which had "bumped" into some rocks near our cabin and scratched the fender area. In addition, part of the fender became lose and floppy (for lack of a better description). A Subaru dealer out of state wanted $2500 plus to repair. A local shop wanted $1500 to repair, if we didn't repaint all the scratches under the bumper area (caused by my elderly parents' diminishing driving skills). I took it to Salem Autobody on the reference of a mechanic I trusted. I told them them we could live with the scratches underneath, and what we most wanted was a fender that was attached well They asked me if I would leave it with authorization for them to spend up to $100 to get it attached right. I said sure. When i came back, they had it attached like new. The bill was under $10. Really: UNDER $10. When's the last time you heard of something like that? We've gone to them several times since. We've had paint work done and they are REALLY GOOD. They are honest and won't oversell you. We've worked with Matt. He's great. And the owner is the guy who gave us the bargain price to the fix to my parents' car. So our experience with everyone we've dealt with is five stars all around. We've dealt with other body shops in Salem (we've lived here for nearly 40 years). None of those others even comes close.

What you are about to read is true. I brought my truck in for collision repairs and left deeply…read moredisappointed, disturbed, and shocked by this shop's extreme negligence and absurd behavior. When I first brought the truck in so they could look at it he told me he could do the repair at the amount insurance was offering and said he "doesn't like painting over dents," which gave me confidence the panel would be repaired without dents. After nearly three weeks, the truck came back with sloppy work: Eight areas of visible debris and pinholes in the paint, a visible dent, one trim piece scuffed, tape left on two different areas, and an area that looks like rust wasn't properly prepped before painting. I brought it back to discuss the issues. The owner agreed to a repaint and even said, "I'm surprised you didn't bring it back sooner," suggesting he already knew the work was bad. He also said fixing the dent would be another $300. That's odd since he implied he would repair all of the dents when I first brought the truck in. On the day scheduled for the repaint, I unfortunately had to decline to pay the extra $300 for the dent repair since I already spent $500 and didn't want to put more money into it. I think that made him angry even though he said that was optional. I still expected the other defects to be fixed. While we spoke, he rubbed an abrasive pad across the painted panel as a demonstration leaving about two feet of visible scratches. I then pointed out several repair problems, including a small rust spot that looked like rust in that area had been painted over, and I said in a half joking way, "This spot bothers me for some reason." I was trying to keep the conversation light because I was sensing he was getting angry. He then replied with some insults: "I think a lot of things bother you," accused me of "trying to get free stuff," and said he'd "paint the rust spot if he had enough paint." I was shocked but kept my comments to myself at that point. I left to take the bus home. As I walked, his "enough paint" remark was irritating me, so I returned to the office to clarify what he meant. As we were discussing the situation the receptionist suggested I take my keys and reschedule after things cooled down. I agreed and walked to my truck to leave. As I was leaving, the owner came outside and asked why I was leaving. I told him it was because of what he said. He instantly became extremely angry, told me to "get out of here!" and threatened to punch me in the face. I left and later filed a police report due to that violent threat. Their website states "All our paint services are backed by warranties ranging from limited to lifetime," and that they "take pride in customer satisfaction." I have tried to contact them several times about honoring that warranty and have received no response. I emailed photos of the multiple repair defects to them afterward, asking how they would fix them and received no response. Poor workmanship, insulting comments, and violent threats toward a customer. Avoid this shop at all costs if you value your vehicle and your personal safety.

Everyone involved did such a great job, I don't know where to start!…read more I obtained five local estimates for damage sustained to my Forerunner, before choosing Lovegrove Collision--and I chose them for many reasons. They got me in right away, I barely even had time to check my phone once I arrived. The estimation process was thorough and professional, he even discovered damage that I hadn't initially noticed. These are professionals. The office manager kept me well apprised, and they finished the repairs in record time, with no loss in quality. I hope that I don't need any body work again, anytime soon, but if I do, I know where I'll go! Five Stars! Highly recommended!

The worst work and the slowest work I have ever received!! Had my truck for three and a half weeks…read moreand wasn't even fixed completely when I got it back. Took it back and it's been sitting there not touched for two weeks and no one thought to call to tell me there was an issue. Went and picked it up today. A hose was dangling from the underneath. Nice. They told my insurance company it wasn't safe to drive. Then why did they send it home the first time saying all repairs were complete. I took it back to them because they didn't fix the bumpers or the windows or the running board. My claims officer called them and asked why all of a sudden it wasn't safe? They said they was incorrect information. Super mad! I'll go somewhere else for the rest of the repairs. The office ladies are very nice though, the only positive thing I have to say.

I was able to drive it to my sister's house but knew it needed significant body repair. The next day, upon my sister's 100% recommendation, we took my car to Traditional Auto Body & Paint in West Salem. We arrived before the shop was open but Susan came to us and said, "Come inside where it is warm, to wait for the technicians." This much-needed kindness set the tone for five weeks of incredible care and patience. Jonathan Mayorga, Robert Anderson, and all the technicians paid attention to my unique/personal situation in dealing with insurance, my health issues and even getting back home. The professional expertise given to repair my car motivates me to post a FIVE STAR review AND 100% recommendation for TRADITIONAL AUTO BODY & PAINT. The initial examination of my vehicle was thorough, and details were well explained to me. I was updated frequently via phone calls and email regarding estimates and insurance coverage. The full repair of my car was completed in a timely manner, done to my 100% satisfaction, and was cleaned, inside and out, better than it has ever been. I was pleased to be given a detailed report of all the repair that was done, so that I will be able to share this with my repair shop in Bellevue, WA. I certainly do not wish the necessity of auto repair for anyone but, if the occasion does occur, I would highly recommend TRADITIONAL AUTO BODY & PAINT, Salem, Oregon. My sincere thanks to all professionals there! Roberta Mock

Shortly after purchasing my BMW Z4 while adjusting my rearview mirror it fell off…read more I went to a glass shop only to find out the windshield had been damaged. The damage was hidden with black vinyl tape intentionally. After contacting previous owners they were also not aware, but was able to track records of repair done previously at Speedy Glass, through a claim filed with State Farm. This was prior to new owner taking over. There is not an option for 10 stars, if there was Charles Vickery, the General Manager, is deserving of 10 stars. He went above and beyond working with the previous owners State Farm agent. Due to ownership change and difficulties finding previous records it was a process. Charles made the decision to make sure I was treated more than fair. Without being able to determine exactly what happened he felt it was the right thing to do to make it right for me. I live in Portland, and they are in Salem. Instead of making me drive to them he set up for their tech to come to my house. He was going to cover the entire cost. Due to everyone working together I was overwhelmed with gratitude I wanted to contribute. We agreed on an amount that was a fraction of the total cost. Their tech, Tanner, showed up at my house Wednesday, August 26th and did an outstanding job. I now have a new windshield and met some extraordinary people. This was someone they could have walked away from and left me to find another company. Charles never gave me the impression this was even an option. He was there to make sure I was taken care of, went above and beyond. It is refreshing to know we still have some amazing people and businesses that really care more about their customers needs and values above their own. Thank you Charles Vickery, Tanner and Speedy Glass!
