I guess her attitude pours out on others, because I've only ever had a nice server one time ---- ONLY ONE TIME!!!!!!!!!! And she was so meek she was afraid to take our order and even talk to us. As for the food... For lunch or dinner, the salad bar is the best they have, and it isn't good. They have watery iceberg lettuce with huge white hard chunks. I guess they save the green leaves for sandwiches. The dressing is watered down. The bacon bits are fake, and they don't have a big selection. Out of the hot food options, the spaghetti is probably your best bet, but don't expect it to taste homemade. I really don't understand why this place is still in business. I've never known it to be good and know more people who dislike it than who like it. My guess the church crowd is what keeps it in business. Also, I'm sure it has a lot to do with politics.

The meats were tough; the dumplings not as good as what could be cooked at home from frozen; the soup was not traditional and not tasty. In addition the ceiling above the kitchen was disgustingly filthy. The intake was covered in black stuff and grease was dripping down the walls. We didn't try the bathroom, but the dining room wasn't very clean either. Also, the owner's/worker's kids were sitting at a table using tablets without earbuds so you could hear everything they watched. Finally, one of us got painful intestinal pains and diarrhea within several hours. We occasionally stop in Lexington for dinner, but will never eat there again. She was friendly and gave good advice about the menu and explained the live music set up and timing when I asked about it. As I moved here a couple of days ago and I'm living out of a hotel until my belongings arrive on a moving truck, and I'm eating a lot of food out. I could say before this restaurant I was a little disappointed in the food I was trying at restaurants that had been rated five stars on yelp. For example, and it didn't happen at this restaurant, I had a Cobb salad the night before that relied on gobs of cheese to please, which shouldn't even be on a cob salad. But enough, groaning and moaning, and back to this restaurant. I love seafood, and I got the seafood appetizer platter. It was really good and I was quite satisfied. I started eating it and I thought now this is what I've been hoping for in a Jackson dining experience rated with high stars on yelp. I am looking forward to coming back to the restaurant and trying more of the items on the menu as there were many things that looked good.
