Plenty of parking, the Cafe is the bottom portion of the building that also houses Lanterns Tavern upstairs, which has a big sign (Countryside Cafe does not have signage). So, if you see Lanterns Tavern, you are in the right place. During my visit, outdoors was full, but inside was basic but quaint and gave off those country vibes one doesn't get that often. The menu has a full range, from eggs, pancakes, loco moco to poke, pork chops and seemingly everything in between. I went the breakfast route and the food was really good - at least that Kalua benedict. It consisted of this perfectly salty Kalua pork, spinach, tomato and perfectly poached eggs on an English muffin, topped with a mild hollandaise. And it was reasonably priced for Hawaii (read less than $20), if I recollect, it was closer to that $15 price point. It came with a heaping side of potatoes (or rice). Service was kind and quick. The bathroom while clean was very basic, just a heads up for those that look for a bit more bougie of bathrooms. Overall, a perfect brunch to fill your belly for a day of adventuring.

We sat outside to enjoy the beautiful view, however, there were numerous flies and cats hanging around the seating area. Tip: Don't sit at the outdoor table near the door as you will be constantly hearing the bell ring each time someone uses the door. Food was pretty good. The Kim chee fried rice was tasty but the spice level was pretty mild. Service was fine. No major issues though we did feel a bit rushed. Overall, I probably wouldn't go out of my way to eat here but it's fine if I was in the area. Much rather go to Liliha bakery for the ambiance and service.

Thanks for setting that expectation because we probably would've headed to pick up our food in about 15 minutes. We ended up waiting an hour for our food. That's double the time that was given to us. They let us know that a bunch of phone orders came in, so I guess they weren't prepared for that. One of the items that we ordered was a burger patty and they let us know that they accidentally burned it. We had to say goodbye to the burger as we were told us it was the last patty they had. So, we were given the option of ordering something else or just having it removed from our bill. Add another item in place of the burger, and wait even longer? No thank you. The chicken parmesan sandwich was large enough to share with someone. Unfortunately, the chicken was a tad dry, and it came with a good amount of cheese, but not enough marinara sauce to mask the dryness. We received the wrong pizza, but did get an extra slice that we didn't order. Ok cool. Thanks, I guess. The major disappointment for me was that they forgot to give us the garlic knots we ordered. The mac and cheese wasn't bad. I'm not sure what blend of cheeses they used but it wasn't the typical cheddar cheese most commonly used. It came with garlic bread, which was nice and buttery with a decent amount of garlic flavor. Even though we received the wrong pizza, we enjoyed the pizza we got. There were chunks of minced garlic which is always a plus for me. The food was good, so I'll go back to give them another shot. Next time, we'll order the garlic knots and make sure it's included in what they give us. Also, they have so much more to offer besides pizza, so we'll also have to give those a try. Other options include lasagna, spaghetti and meatballs, chicken marsala, ravioli, and more.

It's an ABC store with a made to order kitchen, so you could order hot food as well. They have monthly specials, coffee and other drink options (milk tea, smoothies, etc) - and all the cute souvenirs you could imagine! If you don't see musubi's out, just ask. They may have some in the back. They also have katsu musubi's ($5). We ordered a few things here and everything was pretty good! Even the loco moco was better than the one at our resort... If you order from the smoothie counter (where they have smoothies, açaí bowls, milk tea, pastries and gelato) - get a punch card. There's $5 off once you get 10 punches. Also, you have to pay for parking. Don't try to pass this up. We've seen the tow truck a few times here, doing their job! Overall, it's a great option away from resort prices!

I ordered a beef stew this time with double rice and in their coffee and smoothie area they had mango sticky rice which I have been wanting to try for a while. It was actually really good! It's like having a drink and snack at the same time. Their ube malasada is very good. You can get 2 for $5. I love this market so much and there are plenty of other places to enjoy in the area. I told myself that I would only spend 30 minutes here, but I ended up extending my parking four times. No regrets and no parking ticket.
