Also, did I really want a Sonic burger? The answer was an easy no. Did a quick search and found this place which I had no idea existed but now I know they exist in an excellent way. People come here to drink, I'm not a drinker but there was plentynof alcoholic beverages on the back wall for your choice that it could be overwhelming. This is a bar with indoor seating and a World Cup game was on. I think there was outdoor seating but it looked like a different restaurant to me. We ordered dirty fries, a sweet tea, the simple smash, village smash, and sweet tea. I have to admit, I'm overly harsh on burgers but from the first bite, this hit right to me. The dirty fries were good also. We washed down that salt with their mildly sweet sweet tea. That's the only miss for me as I like deep sweet tea thanks to some time spent in Mississippi earlier in life. Their food put themselves on my radar so we will definitely be back as we didn't even scratch the other meats they had on menu.

Since the restaurant looked very busy, I waited another 25 minutes, until about 8:45 PM. I then asked for an update on my order, and I was told it would be another 20 minutes. At that point, I asked if my order had even been started, considering it was only two Smash Burgers and an order of fries. Given the excessive delay and lack of communication, I requested a refund. The long wait and poor updates were very disappointing, especially since I had placed my order in advance for pickup.

We made a visit to Jolene's Hawaii in Ewa Beach n' I ordered a Buttah Lobster Roll + Waffle Fries with Creamy Sauce n' Birria Wontons + Consomme. I gotta say aside from the chunky garlic buttah n' meaty lobstah, the Asian style pickled veggies in the roll, give the crunchy texture n' next level flavor that is deliciously out of control!" SERVICE: friendly INTERIOR: small, table seating can get filled up quickly, nice decor, the best is they have a sink to easily wash your hands EXTERIOR: in the same plaza as Ross, has picnic style tables on the side of restaurant + one right in front WAIT TIME: 15 mins between placing order n' receiving food PARKING: large free lot OVERALL COMMENTS: my go-to is their buttah lobster roll, which always hits the spot. Everything about it is delicious. I make it a combo n' either get the corn chowder or waffle fries, which are both great complimenting sides. The birria wontons are crispy n' make a nice appetizer or side to any meal. Especially with the consommé, full of flavor with a mild heat. Jolene's always has lots of good food n' drinks to choose from!

Service was fine as you place your order and they call you when it's ready. One of our orders I guess was running a little late and they brought it out to us which was nice. As mentioned this place was BUSY so it was a bit hectic and seemed they were having trouble keeping things clean and organized. There was a bar in the corner that seemed to be used for storage rather than as a bar since it was stacked with boxes and things.

When we got our food, my burger was only luke warm (and my onion rings, too). I ordered it medium rare and this was the first time it was almost medium, and not any all juicy. Since I paid an extra $3.50 for my onion rings I was very disappointed. Only plus is they were nice and crunchy. Hubby's burger and fries were hot, so my order must have been made first and then just sat there for a while. Hubby was happy with his meal since it was hot and cooked medium as he ordered. Not happy. First time I gave them only three stars.

Outstanding Food, Vibes, and Live Music!…read more Had an amazing dinner experience at Mahi'ai Table last night with two friends! We specifically came out to support our friend who was the musical talent providing the live entertainment from 5:00 to 8:00 PM. Our reservation was at 5:30 PM, and the vibe was so good that we stayed all the way until 9:00 PM. Because we arrived during the last 30 minutes of happy hour, we immediately ordered a major spread of pupus from the Pau Hana menu. We shared the lechon style brussel sprouts, hand-cut fries, steamed shrimp & pork won tons, scallion bread, and fish tacos. Every single bite was delicious. I paired the food with a Hana Koa Roof Top Pale Ale from their local drafts list, which was crisp and excellent. After happy hour wrapped up, I moved on to the dinner menu and ordered the Half Pound House Burger and fries for my entree. The burger was perfectly cooked and incredibly flavorful. Overall, the food and ambiance were absolutely outstanding, and the service was prompt, attentive, and friendly from start to finish. The noise level was perfectly moderate, letting us enjoy both the live music and our own conversation. We had a great time and will absolutely be back!

Underrated local dinner spot…read more The entry to this restaurant is so easy to miss because it's so narrow and it blends in so well with everything. I don't know if they want to keep it hidden, but I guess you could consider it that. We went in on a Saturday night with reservations and I highly recommend it since the place was full when we went in and more people kept wanting to come and eat. Service was great from beginning to end, I especially love that everyone accommodated my stroller and my baby. There were four of us and we each got something different, but to start I highly suggest the steamed shrimp and pork wontons and the lechon style Brussels - I would've double-ordered those for my entree if I could have! For entrees we ordered the garlic noodles, misoyaki butterfish, seared catch-of-the-day, and the burger. They were all amazing, and after we all started letting each other try we started making our own "flights" because everything just hit different spots and flavor profiles. In summary, this is one of those places that doesn't care about aesthetics, the decor is casual, but the food is soooo ono. They focus all their energy on food and service, and that makes a winner winner chicken dinner in my book.

Look for the orange food truck across from Boston's Pizza along Kam Highway, you can't miss it. We got there about 1pm on a Monday and placed our orders right away. Everything is made to order so there is a bit of a wait, about 10 minutes. There are about 7 picnic tables and 4 shaded areas to eat. I was also surprised that there were quite a few Japanese tourists venturing out this side for Shay's. Their menu is simple, with 3 types of burgers and fries. We ordered the All American, Fun Guy, and Krazy Fries. I like how the burgers did not taste greasy but still had flavor. They also give disposable gloves if you're not a fan of getting your hands dirty. Will be back again next time I have a burger craving.

You will spend more than the average to eat here, but I believe you get more than just the food/drink, you get the atmosphere as well. One thing I will say that not too many people know about, is that they have a kids menu! Every choice on there is $10 each. When I do end up bringing my babies on Bible study nights, I order them the sausage, eggs, and rice plate or the nuggets. Portions are great, enough to feed an adult, let alone a child. On average for a date, you'd pay about $80-$100 total depending what you order. But it's worth it and it's not an everyday thing. Also check out the shaved ice and ice cream! Their Grilled Chicken Caesar Salad is my absolute go-to every single time--so fresh and consistently delicious. If you're craving something heartier, the Wagyu Burger is another absolute must-have. To wash it all down, they have a wide array of coffee and teas, but you have to try their Vintage Kona Mocha--it's amazing. The only reason for 4 stars instead of 5 is that all of it can get pretty pricey, and it definitely gets super busy and crowded on the weekends. But for the flavor and drink selection, it's still worth the wait!
